Very caring educated hard-working devoted staff. Not one negative to say. Go through petfinder.com is one way to look them up and that's how I found everything out. Tony is awesome and everyone else is too and give you the time and care you need.

The address used to be James Ave, now it's Eddie Cochran St. and Google can't handle it. Turn into Frank Hall Park and follow that road to the end. Adopted pets from FCHS come home spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated for way less than you'd pay a vet to do it. Staff and volunteers are helpful in picking the right companion, because they really know the animals' personalities. Weird hours though, open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 11 - 5 and Saturdays 11 - 2

It's rather hard to adopt a pet here, and many have warned me about it. I do understand the reasons why they are that way. They have helped people with food and other items if they have it. No one wants to see an animal cold or hungry, and it does get really cold here. My hats off to these people for what they do. Animals need someone to speak for them and to protect them from others who are not so nice to them. Keep doing the work you do.

Adopted a cat 6 weeks ago. Very caring people at the pound. Called me several times to see how we were doing with our new pet. They do a great job. I couldn't be happier with my new kitty ❤️

The staff here is amazing and caring.They have about 100 wonderful kitties looking for their furever home.We live 100 miles away and had a dog get loose in the area. They did not known us, but they still went way beyond to help us in every way. And their efforts were critical in the safe return of our dog.

I'm sure the adoption process is great but anything else is poor service. Say they'll call you back about assistance with neutering animals due to a high volume of strays and my animal wanting to get outside. Moved here new to the area, looked for help, was told to wait, grew frustrated as waiting resulted in kittens and then staff was rude to me for my frustration. Look elsewhere for help with fixing your pets. It's not their priority. Regardless of your situation they do not care.

We adopted two cats from this location. Both are fitting in wonderfully with our family, and our experience here was wonderful. As a Humane Society it's hard for them to keep up with demand, and having a large cat room is kind of make shift. it absolutely gets the job done and gives you a very easy way to know what cats are social and which ones don't want anything to do with you. Adoption fees are significantly less than larger cities like Mankato, so if you like value animals come on down!

Tawni is the best! You can tell she just has a passion got what she does and wants to make sure each animal finds a forever family that will be a good fit for them. Easy to work with, willing to make arrangements outside normal hours to accommodate your schedule, and willing to spend a lot of time introducing you to pets until you find the perfect fit. I cannot recommend them enough!

The Humane Society of Freeborn County is incredible. It's run by volunteers and has lots of support from the community. Their social media promotes available adoptable animals, features lost pets, and has helpful tips. Cat adoption fees are easily half the cost of other shelters. Cannot recommend enough.

We have adopted 2 puppies here. The puppies were well socialized and a bargain if you factor in that the chipping, getting fixed, and necessary shots were included. The staff and volunteers are very nice.
