We were attempting to do some winter kayaking on Bear Creek when we realized we drove 3 hours without our paddles!It’s January, so we knew it was a long shot, but we called around and Sportman’s port answered and said come on over. They lent us their paddles and were very kind and helpful! Will be return costumers for sure.Thanks Tom!

My daughter and I recently used Sportsman's Port to canoe the Pine River. Staff was great. Tom got us on the river in no time. Set my daughter up with a life jacket and drove us up river. We spotted a black bear on our way up stream. We didn't get a good look, Tom turned around and we were lucky enough to get a peak at the bear. My daughter was thrilled! Highly recommend

Highly recommend. We stayed for 5 nights over the 4th of July Holiday. The campground has large campsites for RV's. A play area for kids and the bathrooms and showers were very clean. Tom was an excellent and attentive host. We will be back.

We love this campground! We came in Mid September and stayed Friday and Saturday on a non-electric site. Tom is amazing! He took good care of us. We weren't brave enough to use the vault toilet, but the bathroom and showers in the camp were excellent! The bathrooms were clean and the showers were warm. The whole campground was clean and well maintained. We didn't make use of the volleyball or basketball courts, but it was nice that they were there. We whitewater rafted on the pine River. Tom drove us out and told us everything we needed to know for our trip. Sportsman's port is hands down the best value camping and rental place around Manistee. We would definitely camp here again!

After previously given up on this campground due to the previous owner's neglect and poor customer service, Wilson's Crew has returned and I couldn't be happier with the improvements that Tom has made! The grass was mowed, the bathrooms were clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. It's good to be back at Sportsman's Port, and we'll see you next year!

We enjoyed our time at this campground. The owners and crew members were very friendly! Restrooms were clean and showers had hot running water. Lots of room to run around and loved that had inflatables and a play area for the kids.

A+ service, a true outfitter. I called Tom after closing on a Monday and he answered. He spoke with me for about forty minutes and answered my questions about the area and came through with the shuttle services to help get me up the river with my personal canoe on an adventure with my dog. I also camped at his accommodations behind the livery. Very nice property with clean showers. All around Tom is a wonderful, helpful person and I will be back to the area because of his business and kindness.

My boyfriend, our dog, and I rented a tandem kayak to go down the Pine River and the service we received from Sportsman's Port was wonderful! Not to mention the prices are great- best prices in the area. I’d say the only issue was that the kayak was pretty old/worn and there was a noticeable crack under one of the seats. Otherwise, 10/10.

My husband and I decided to go camping last minute on Labor Day weekend… we called sportsman’s port and they were extremely nice on the phone, arrived to check in and the woman at the front desk was beyond helpful! The campground was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for! We brought our sxs and there was a trailhead right out of the campsite! 10/10 would recommendWe will be camping here again ❤️

Great campground, bathroom and showers are clean. Shower is hot. Fire wood purchased from front office is delivered to your campsite.Tom is awesome, communicated with me for a couple of months while I planned and coordinated my event.Had a group of 30 and 0 negative comments from anyone. Definitely a great place. Looking forward to my next group camp.

Really the best deal in the area. Great campground with people who care about you having a great time. Nice bathrooms /shower area and the outhouses are kept clean. Great new basketball court adds to the many activities that include playground and volleyball court with sand. Big open area and pavilions for large groups to congregate. 15 electric sites and many rustic options. Only a minute away from 4 corners store and a 3 minute car ride to Peterson Bridge landing

If you are looking for a campground that is clean, fun, has awesome owners, and offers shuttle to and from the Pine river, please check out Sportsmans Port in Wellston. We spent 4 days there, and had the best time! Sites are huge, owners are amazing, bath houses are clean, their equipment is new, their store is super cute, and we really had a great time! We have camped a lot, and rarely go to the same places, but we will be going back for sure! This is their first year, and they really deserve some recognition for the work they have done to make this campground so welcoming😊 —

Nice time! Owners are really friendly and it's so close to the river! Even rented a raft for us to enjoy. They gave me the perfect spot with space from other sites. My kids and dogs loved it there. Will be going back!

We've been doing our Pine River Kayaking Trip for over 10 years now. We used to rent and rented from Sportsmans once in the beginning, maybe year 2 ...and the previous owner was awful. We rented once and never went back. I own some kayaks now so we went to drop this weekend and a worker at the launch offered to help us unload them. I took him up on his offer, and I was going to help, but he wanted none of it. I then asked about a shuttle service. (I swear there was one previously). Instead, he offered to take his work truck to the finish point, let us drop our cars, and drove us back to the launch so we didn't have to do the double back. Long story short, the owner was the worker helping unload non-rented kayaks and offered a ride. What the owner didn't know is I took him up on his offer because mom has cancer and the trip was one of her last hoorahs before surgery at the end of August and he was generous enough to unload not-rented-from-him kayaks. I will refer all people in our group who need to rent, to this business. What a change in ownership!

What a great gem of a campground. The owners are fabulous, accomodating, and made our stay so comfortable. We had a great time! Grassy sites, super clean, plenty of space, two pavillions, great shower house. Be sure to stop there!

My family has been coming to this campground for more than 25 years. I have been to several campgrounds around the state/country and this is by far my favorite. It is very close to the river which makes it easy to get around. The new owners are great and are very serious about making sure you have a great time! There is a lot of space to do activities. I have made a lot of memories here and I plan to make a lot more! Would recommend this place to anybody. I will be bringing my family/friends here for years to come.

Campground near intersection of M37 on M55. This campground has electric only available at camp sites. For a camper with two adults rate was $35/night. There's water available to fill your camper prior to setting up camp. There is no dumpstation although that's not the owner's fault; they are waiting for the State of MI approval. Clean restrooms and showers. Rustic sites available. Playground, basketball court, horseshoes, sand volleyball court, and kids inflatable jump house. Each site has a firepit and picnic table. There's two pavilions for large group gatherings. They rent out kayaks and canoes for fun on the Pine River. The owners responded quickly to a Facebook message inquiry.

Great spot. Large campsites (rustic and electric available) with nice bathrooms and showers plus several outhouses between campsites for easy access. Quiet and clean. Several styles of kayaks to choose from and they provided the parking passes and all personal flotation gear as well. Pet friendly. Will be coming back.

Came up for a last minute camping 🏕 trip. New owners are absolutely amazing! They had a awesome customer appreciation event with cider and donuts and we got free pumpkins for all the kids for Halloween! Thank you so much Tom and Michelle for having us and we can’t wait to bring the kids next weekend! Great place to stay!

I camped here earlier this summer and I loved staying here because of how welcoming the owners were. So kind and accommodating but giving you your space too! I even got a thank you letter from them weeks later. HOW SWEET! Definitely coming back soon . Would strongly recommend.
