As beautiful as their dogs are, they are extremely sick. I had a mutual friend who’s dog died after two days and I ignored it and still went and bought a dog from there. My dog almost died in two days if I didn’t rush him into the hospital and vet. 3,000$ and stress later my baby is okay. It was the most traumatizing thing. He had Giardia from there. Their post op care instructions may miss some important information. Just watch out.

We've been going into the pet store for a few years now and we finally bought our sweet puppy to join our family. We've always had a good experience and the employees have always been so helpful and nice. The puppies have always been taken care of even though there in cages, we've never seen anyone mistreat them and they always carried them safely. A big thank you to Nate for being helpful and for walking us through the financing that was available. He's the best! The life of a sweet puppy that needs love is worth more then money. We're thankful for the things that were included with our puppy and he's perfect for our Family. 💙🐾💙

These puppies are not being taken care of at this place. Most of them are sick and will need a lot of vet care / attention. They’re in confined spaces all day behind dirty glass. Another odd thing… how is this dog’s name Percy two weeks but now his name is Gimmighoul? Odd. Just find a local breeder, you’ll be paying the same price.

location at Oakland Mall. These dogs are supposed to come with a clean bill of health as they get their dogs from certified breeders. In the contract that you sign with this place, it clearly states that if the dog is found to have a genetic defect, you are entitled to a refund for your dog. Our dog was then diagnosed with Juvenile Cataracts and we started the process of getting the refund for the dog in the beginning of February of 2024. We have put about $1,000 into medications and vet appointments for our dog that we are still paying off by the way. The cost of surgery to make it so our dog isnt blind for the rest of his life will be about $8,000. We are now down to not enough money to buy groceries for ourselves and still have not gotten our refund check and it is currently the end of March 2024. Almost 2 months of working with this company that has lied to us over and over again to not give us a refund. If you dont want to have to take a company to small claims court, I would suggest finding somewhere else to get a dog.

Good store, lots of selections for puppies. They'll even take the time to let you get to know your puppy before you take it home. Prices tend to run a tad high for the more popular breeds, but it's whatever the market will bear.

After six months with my pug, Franklin, I can truly say Family Puppy’s service is great.While reading some of these reviews, it can be very disconcerting and further from the truth.When you purchase a puppy from Family Puppy, if for whatever reason, you will receive free/discounted treatment from the Madison Veterinary Hospital over on and John R, like a stone’s throw away from the mall with the puppy package and the service at the Madison Veterinary Hospital is the best in Oakland County.Frankly speaking, the price tag for some can be quite intimidating and maybe out of the budget for many, however, the price is what you pay, and the value is what you get.Investing $4,000-$6,000 with the puppy package, when all said and done, is almost identical to purchase the puppy individually and all of the vet visits in the first three-six months, it’s a matter of paying upfront or paying later.It is quite disappointing to read some of these reviews because a pet is part of your family and raising a family can be expensive.For the past six months now, little Franklin did have to go to the vet a few times, however Madison Veterinary Hospital will ensure your pup is safe and healthy and the puppy package at Family Puppy makes the $4,000-$6,000 worth every penny.The one thing I am uncertain about is the financing offered because I personally paid the full amount upfront however if you do not have the funds to afford a puppy, maybe adopting from the shelter may be a more affordable option then pay for the vet visits yourself when you can afford them.Before making any judgments, visit Family Puppy yourself and see. Everyone is a critic these days, take it with a grain of salt.Here’s a pic of my boy, Frankie, then and now, and hopefully for the next 12-15 years!

We got an akc puppy with guaranteed good health. We took him to the vet within the five days of getting him, and he has two parasites, and an umbilical hernia. He is now on medication from our vet, but our other dog at home is now really sick. I've called, and left messages. Still waiting to get a call back five days later. DO NOT GET A PUPPY FROM HERE!!!

I purchased a mini Bernadoodle on 11/26/2023. He was five months old. He was missing vaccines and was underweight according to our vet. The Family Puppy was not feeding him enough. The sales man was not able to explain the PAW TREE ENROLLMENT. They sold me the puppy but held my credit card and used it to enroll me in a monthly food delivery for the puppy. I received a box in the mail with more food, that is simplyTERRIBLE and I intend to return the other bag. The snacks and food additives are horrible; none of my dogs would touch. The only good thing is the dog shampoo. I will send a complaint to the Office of Attorney General Consumer Complaints Division so they can investigate this practice of enrolling a customer in a monthly food delivery service without the person’s consent and using my credit card to pay for something I didn’t order.

We’ve been back since this review and it’s been nothing but positive!! Definitely changed my mind and my review of the place!! Very friendly but still VERY pricey. Just do your research before you commit.We wanted to buy a dog today and at 7:20pm the “manager” on shift said she wasn’t doing anymore visits. Mind you they close at 8:00pm so that’s still 40 minutes for us to try and find our furrever baby. There was another associate named Nia who was very sweet and wanted to help us and I think she should be the manager because she was way more helpful than the “manager” and why would I buy from a place who won’t let me interact with the dog. The “manager” never even came out until 40 minutes to close and poor Nia had a lot of guest she was trying to handle at once. This place needs better management.

Manager feels that it’s an acceptable business practice to sign people up for recurring bills from some 3rd party dog food company. Manager believes slipping an ad in my packet is acceptable behavior and a copy of my paperwork I signed. This was so misrepresented, I called calmly and had to hang up cause I was getting yelled at. Unacceptable business practice. Also, my puppy was so sick from being in there I’ve been back to the vet countless times. Thank god I got him out of there. BEWARE THE FOOD IS TRASH AND ITS A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION. YOU WILL NOTICE IN THEIR RESPONSE THEY SAY NOTHING ABOUT BEING CHARGED AFTER. OR DO THEY SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ASKING FOR MY PHOTO FOR THE BREEDER JUST TO PUT IT ON THEIR AD. THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS. THEY CANNOT PROVIDE MY SIGNATURE, AND THEIR VIDEO SHOWS THEIR ASSOCIATE JUST TAKING MY CARD. YOU SHOULD TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING THEM UP FOR. I have a beautiful 9 year old Irish Doodle (Cooper) that I bought here. It's difficult for these guys, because I know they're under so much scrutiny from people that find it inhumane. I get that. My wife and I love animals, and would be horrified to see them treated badly. The puppies here are clean and well-cared for. Someone mentioned about a puppy eating it's own poop... look if you've never owned dogs before, I'll let you in on a little secret. Sometimes puppies eat their own poop! It's a behavior that they outgrow, not a sign of mistreatment.If I had to do it over again, I might adopt from a shelter. Not because I have anything against Family Puppy, but because I do feel a bit guilty about all the doggos that need some love and are stuck in shelters. And buying dogs has become exceedingly expensive in the last few years. That being said, I wouldn't trade my Cooper for anything.

Stopped by today, the staff was extremely friendly but the conditions for the dogs was simply terrible looking. They were in small kennels with nothing for them to do for enrichment. Additionally the pricing is simply outrageous: our family’s purebred shepherd came fully vetted with verifiable lineage 7 generations back and was cheaper than the GSD puppies for sale. Over all, be very wary of this place, and choose your puppy’s breeder carefully!

I bought my sweet little puppy here, she was 4 months old when I got her. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I was a pain in the butt because I looked and played with most of the puppies, then I met the love of my life "Minnie" I couldn't be happier. If I could give 0 stars I would. I bought a puppy from here just this month . I was told the puppy came with papers and the paper “aka registered” according to the girl who helped me would be placed into my folder for my puppy. As I was gathering documents for his first office visit I noticed not a single paper given to me was for any of the documentation. I called the store immediately. I spoke to a girl who advised me that the puppy has none. Beware! They are liars and frauds. They sold my puppy to me for more than a registered one. I’m livid!!
