A nicer camp ground. The sites are kinda narrow though and rather close to the highway so there is traffic noise. It has a park, swimming area, and hiking trail. There is quite a bit of old trash along the trail though. Also, there is no working locks on the mens restroom stalls. There is also a boat launch.

This is a nice park. Especially now with the leaves changing. Nice playground, bbq grills and picnic tables overlooking this beautiful lake.

Seems like a nice place. Has a beach for swimming as well as a boat launch. There are quite a few picnic tables with grills. The campgrounds are modern, looks like most of the people have campers.

Check-in was a little chaotic, tag was wrong and they said I already checked in- but I hadn’t. All was ok in the end. Only 3 showers, a woman kept taking her large dog into the bathroom. There is a campground beach- which actually was my site come to find out #35. This isn’t on the map so what looked like a nice site wasn’t. People were walking thru our site to beach and were like 20’ from our fire ring. This site is not at all private and we had people right outside our camper morning to night swimming, messing with their boat and fishing. People were parking their boats on the beach where the kids were trying to swim. The ORV trail 5 min from park is closed to the south right now which messes up everything trail as there really isn’t any place to park for trails in the area. Would recommend staying at McClain or nearer to Houghton, there just isn’t much in this area and we ended up in Houghton most everyday. Park needs to isolate the beach from the sites on it and mark map.

Little crowded but the campsites are fairly roomy. Definitely geared more towards RV camping so might be a little loud for tent goers such as myself. Lakes are pretty and nice facilities.

Great little park! First time here and will definitely be back. On a gorgeous lake, not far from a lot of places we wanted to go along the west side of the state. Very clean bathrooms and showers, very friendly DNR employees. Cant wait to go back next year!

Great campground, the staff was really friendly. We showed up and our tent site was semi-flooded so they let us choose a new site without hassle. Only downfall is that the bathroom/showers could use some updating. Would definitely come back!

A good place to take the kids. Play areas, beaches, and the lake. Park is a little worn out.

The campground was well-maintained and the sites themselves were really nice - ample space, trees, etc. However, I didn't like that it was situated right next to the highway. The semi's at 5am are the most disturbing part. Also, the staff can be pretty picky, and I've talked to several people who no longer camp here because of it. Another thing that I didn't anticipate that negatively influenced my experience was the tremendously bright light coming from the restrooms that illuminated the entire campground; it seemed pretty unnecessary. (Side note: the restrooms are maintained, but there are decent-sized gaps in-between the stalls).I was also disappointed that I couldn't find the entrance to the nature trail; it must have been behind someone's campsite. The map of the nature trail also gave the impression that the nature trail was a giant loop, however, there were many off-shoots and after a certain point I didn't know where I was and had to turn around. Also, the mosquitoes were so bad that it ruined the whole experience - I have never experienced them that bad. There was a swarm of them following me, despite wearing bug spray. This doesn't have any bearing on my review of Twin Lakes, but one should definitely make sure to have a decent bug spray when going on the nature trail.

Nice park with lakeside camping right next to a fairly busy highway. Mostly well kept and very nice staff. Choose your site carefully. There are a few nice beach areas and all kinds of place to sit on a bench and stare at the lake.

It's a nice park, close to atv trails and many places to explore. The bad is it's right on a busy road and if you like to sleep in on vacation like I do its fairly loud.

Nice park, especially the day use area and the beach. Wood benches and setees to sit and enjoy the loons and sunshine. Camping is tight and full of locals...playing music, and bringing large 5th wheel campers to crowd the campground. Small camping spots, and misconfigured site lines had us waiting 1 hr for our site( someone else was encroaching our spot)😖 Many fire pits lit at the same.timeakrs.for.difficult breathing 😷 Bathroom and shower facilities need updating. I would not recommend this park.

First time staying here. Awesome park. Spots are nice and there is quite a bit to do. My wireless provider didn't have service there so it would have been nice if they offered wifi somewhere.Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and centrally located. Showers are also available if you need them.

Nice state park on an inland lake. Good fresh ice cold water. This park is waiting it's turn for more modern upgrades that will start after labor day. Nice big fire pits on the sites. The campsite is nice but it is close to the road so there is road noise.

Stayed at this park several times. If you are looking for peace and quiet, skip this place. The highway is directly adjacent to this park and the noise from the traffic is constant. Most sites are right on top of each other, so again noise is an issue. That being said, the park venue is beautiful. Large trees and the lake makes for a beautiful setting. But if you can't tune out distraction, avoid this place.

Great little campground with a couple items that make only a 3 star. Right next to a major road so it can be very loud. Bathrooms needs to be updated. Quite hours start more like 11 PMish. Nice park if you use it as a base came like we did to explore the western UP. It is a smaller State Park.Playground: Large swing set and slide.Restrooms: Old restroom that need to be updated.Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs when we visited. Picnic area: Great picnic area for day use!!
