Very nice friendly place at a great rate. Very clean and the bed was so comfortable we want one for home. We were in the outside room by the intersection so our ear plugs came in handy. One piece of advice. Bring coat hangers. The room had several hooks but no drawers to put your clothes inRooms: Small but clean and functional

I stayed at the Fox River Motel back in June for a few nights and would give it 3.5 stars (rounding to 4 to be nice). The only negatives I could say is that it was very hot in my room (the air conditioner didn't work well). Also, the wi-fi didn't work well but that is partially my fault as I should have talked to the front desk. But not having wi-fi wasn't a big deal as my cell phone still worked and if I am in the area to stay again, I'll bring some kind of portable air conditioner or a few fans. But for the cost of the room compared to spending $200+ for a room in Munising or Manistique, the price was very good. The bed was comfortable, the bath/tub and shower was a nice size with water that warmed up quickly or got cold quickly, whichever you wanted. They provided towels and rags if you forgot to bring any. There was a 2 set electric stove top and they provided pots and pans and there were utensils I hadn't packed so very easy to make yourself bacon and eggs if you wanted to cook a meal in versus spending money elsewhere. Just a fair warning, the motel is right next to the highway so some kind of earplugs or something to tune out the highway might be in order as well (I kinda got used to it after the first night). One of the owners I briefly talked to was nice as well. She gave me a fair warning about the mosquitoes to be cautious of when you go hiking. Another nice thing about staying here is if you are like me and were spending one day in different sections of the upper peninsula like Manistique, Munising, or Tahquamenon Falls, this is right in the center of everything-maybe 40 minutes to an hour drive to each area. If I am in the upper peninsula again and doing any hiking or activities whether near Seney or perhaps less than an hour from Seney, I would stay again for sure.

The owners of this motel may be the most hospitable hosts we've come across in our many travels around the globe. We had a challenging situation involving a broken-down car and they did all that they could to help accommodate us given our unexpected situation and the challenges that come with being in a remote place, far from home. The double queen room we stayed in was lovely and had a complete kitchen so we were able to cook our own meals. Would highly recommend staying here and look forward to seeing the wonderful folks living in Seney again some day!

Our go-to UP motel. The rooms are small but very nice. The staff is great too. We couldn't figure out the AC and the TV and they came at 10:30 at night to help. Turns out, it was something simple, I felt dumb but he didn't make it feel that way at all. They are super helpful. Highly recommend!Add: great for pet owners.

The owners of this place are the greatest!!! Marc and Julie will get you a room if there is one available! My wife and I have stayed here with our kids and without. And its always a great place to rest. Quick access to the Diamond Trail system to take you anywhere that you want to go, by snowmobile or side by side!! Great fishing in the Fox River as well as close enough to some of your favorite attractions. Right on 28 near 77. So stop in and say HI to the owners.

Rooms were spacious, comfortable, recently finished and nice full kitchens (stove, full sized fridge, and sink). Accommodated 5 adults comfortably in one room. Staff were attentive & friendly. Worth the drive back from Paradise/Munising. Very close to the refugee so easy to spend time there at dawn and dusk! Would stay here again for sure.

While it's an older motel, it's been updated nicely, service was very good, room was a nice efficiency and we loved it. Next time through we will definitely be stopping. 1 disappointment was the local gas stations were closed by 8pmSo get your needs taken care of early.PS food across the street at the bar looked pretty good.

I stopped in while driving late without reservation. Lights were on and checking in was fast and easy. Great system. Excellent rate. Room was clean and even had a kitchenette. Coffee in room. Will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely love this place. It's the nicest motel I have been to. The price was reasonable. Our room had a full kitchen with plates, pots, pans, and utensils. The place is clean and service excellent. If I ever come back to this area, I would definitely choose this place stay

This place was so cute, like a little cabin! It was also incredibly clean, and the price was great!! The owners were super nice as well. Traveling with 3 kids can get expensive, but this had a full kitchen and a full sized refrigerator, so we could cook our own meals. The location was pretty centrally located between Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls, keeping in mind everything in the Upper Peninsulais pretty spread out. We are definitely planning on coming back!

Very friendly staff and a nice neat place to stay over night for the price you pay. We showed up one night super late...looking for a place to stay along the way when we knew we weren't going to mKe it to our destination. The lady that checked us in was very kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean and neat. We were very happy with the place. Best part is it didn't break the bank. We now try to make it a must stop sleep over if we are in the area.

Amazing up keep. Very clean. Extremely comfy with stove, microwave, tv, fridge, coffee maker, kitchen sink, new carpet and flooring. Will definitely be coming back. The gentleman on the phone was beyond helpful in regards to making sure we had a room for the night. Well priced for the amenities and service. Hard to find. A diamond in the rough.

My husband, Harvey Mattson, and I stayed at the Fox Oct. 3,4 and 5, 2022 and give it a 10 out of 10! Everything was just perfect. Comfortable beds (good pillows, by the way!) microwave, nice big coffee pot, refrigerator, a stoveand eating supplies which included pots and pans, new bathroom and the entire room spic and span. When in the U P, we will definitely make a return visit (and request Room 117!) and highly recommend the Fox River Motel to anyone looking for accommodations in the Seney/Grand Marais area.Harvey and Shirley Mattson

My fiancee and I just got back from a motorcycle trip to the U.P. and we stayed here for a week. Mark and Julie are awesome hosts! Clean comfortable, reasonably priced rooms. Ours even had a kitchenette so we could cook breakfast in the morning. They ride a Harley too and even took us on a ride with them and some of their friends! Thank you guys for making our vacation soo awesome!

Great motel, very clean and affordable. We stay here every time we go to Seney or further north. Different rooms some have a mini kitchen which is nice. Full refrigerator, stove, microwave and sink. Plus they supply dishes and silverware.
