I have been going to Mattawan Animal Hospital for 20 years. It is nice to be addressed by name and pet name when arriving. Veterinarians are knowledgeable and take their time to care for your pet.

A bit of a long wait to have our pet receive medical assisted death. The vet was wonderful and the experience was made easier. Have been taking our pets here for most of the years we have had pets. Came back in an emergency situation several years ago when the current vet would not see our pet in an emergency late afternoon. Would never change again. Thank you Mattawan Animal Hospital.

After an unfortunate situation where my daughters guinea pig was very sick, I had to call around and find a vet that handled small pocket animals. After another vet referred us to them saying they may handle them, I called. They were taking new patients but were scheduling out further than I could wait. I told them my situation and they had me in there that afternoon. They were so sweet and caring and even though the outcome wasnt what we wanted to hear, my experience there was stellar and I am grateful to the vet that went the extra mile for me!RIP "Butt" Nugget ❤️

June 4th Sam had issues standing up and I was afraid that was time for him to cross the bridge. Called very early Saturday morning and they said they could not see Sam even though he was suffering and crying till Monday afternoon at 3:00. Sunday we took Sam to the emergency room on Cork Street and he was put down. I don't know why with all the years we took Sam to Mattawan they could not make time to see him. Called on Monday canceled his appointment and told them why and have heard nothing back from them not even a card. It's like they don't care anymore. Also the emergency room sent us a card.

We started bring our cat Lucy here, and we're very happy with the care they have given her. She is older, (15+ yrs.) and is not used to changes, but she isn't any more scared here than at her old vets'!

My previous vet office closed down & I was incredibly anxious about finding a new provider for my 8 year old German Shepherd, but Mattawan Animal Hospital went above and beyond to make both of us feel comfortable! I have a sweet girl who struggles with anxiety and can become overly protective of me, but both the technician and doctor assured me and took fantastic care of my girl. We would DEFINITELY recommend taking your animals here, especially if you are nervous in any way about the temperament of your baby. I cannot stress enough how much better I feel about the taking her in the future after our experience!

They take care of my dog and two cats. They do a good job for us and they have an emergency number which is very important to me. I switched to Mattawan Animal Hospital several years ago when my female Jack Russell Terrier had a serious problem delivering her puppies on a Sunday night and they were able to save all but one of them. I could have lost the other 6 if not for the Dr.'s quick response. You don't forget that kind of service. I've been going there ever since.

They got my cat in who hasn’t been seen by them since 2018 for a next day appointment. After dealing with horrible reception staff at Family Pet Health Center (my cats main vet), who would not see her until friday and was extremely rude, I am extremely grateful for Mattawan Animal Hospital staff. They always have a pleasant demeanor and give timely care. My pets will now only go to Mattawan Animal Hospital for their care!

Have taken my yellow lab here since he was a puppy. When my dog started having issues with his ear / skin and gagging, they quickly attributed it to a inner ear infection. It didn’t make sense but we tried the antibiotics. When that didn’t do anything and my dog was miserable, we took him to Red Arrow Animal Clinic. The care and assessment was at another level. They identified he had a fever from an infection, mange (micro mites that infest the skin), and excess fluid causing coughing / gagging due to congestive heart failure. These things are super uncomfortable for dogs. We wasted over a month by relying on Mattawan Animal Hospital’s assessment. They didn’t even take my dog’s temp. How could something like this be missed? Very frustrating.

Dr. Williamson and staff are excellent to deal with. She fit my Pug in for surgery the next day and even came in on her day off to assist her father, Dr. Griffiths. If they can't fix the problem they refer to MSU and don't waster valuable time. We have been going there for 15 years even though we live in Portage. Thanks to the office and veterinarians.

The quality of service and treatment is A+ here. Dr. Christine Williamson is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable (even about holistic herbs). She takes the time to discuss any questions or concerns that you have, and the visit is never rushed. Both my husband and I can tell that she truly cares about our dog. After my dog's surgery, she personally called us to let us know how everything went and how our little one was doing. Their costs are also very reasonable and affordable.

The difference between a veterinarian and a good veterinarian is caring. I brought my newly adopted dog here for a surgery I really didn’t have money for and these kind people fit him in quickly (even with their busy schedule) and sent him back to me all fixed up for $600 less than I had intended. Great service from the front desk staff, veterinarians and technicians. I have brought my pets to Mattawan Animal Hospital for many years. They really care about my pets! They have top notch service, clean facility and thorough, wonderful veterinarians. They absolutely do what is in the best interest of my pets and I feel there is excellent communication with the entire staff. I have never had a problem getting in for an appointment (even when calling the same day). Great rates, great service, wonderful people!
