Our granddaughter is huge fan of the Michigan Chiller books and Pandemia so when we saw a sign for this bookstore, we had to stop! The author Johnathan Rand was incredibly kind and we found out that he has adult books as well. He sells all of his books and they are cheaper than they are on Amazon. He is in the store quite often and he is so great when meeting with fans. If we are up north again, we will make another stop. Highly highly recommended!

My daughter has been a huge fan of the book series Michigan chillers and American chillers for years. We were taking a trip up to Mackinaw City and we saw a sign for it. Nothing but a complete excitement to know that they are located in Michigan. And it was an honor to actually meet the author of all these amazing books. We will definitely stop by and see you again. Mr. Rand, the author of the 'Michigan Chillers', and 'Freddie Fernortner, Fearless First Grader' books, among many others, has a really great selection of books and my kids ABSOLUTELY loved his headquarters! He spoke at my kids school and the next week we went to his headquarters and it is so fun! Great decorations and his wife was there and she was absolutely wonderful as well! If your kids like to read, and enjoy creepy, fun decorations...this is the place to go 😁👍

Take the time to come out and explore your childhood nightmares all over again!And if you're looking for local horror stories look no further than this creepy hideout where you will meet the mad genius himself Johnathan Rand AKA Christopher Knight!Chatting with him and his wife Mrs. Rand was such fun and listening to his scuba diving stories, other works he has just wrapped up, travel, and his wife's first reactions when she read his books, reactions that I also shared when reading them.Did I mention he also signed all of his books that I had collected over the years?? He graciously signed my final copies!First trip of many! Can't wait for the future!

Such a cool place for young readers and adults. We bought several books for my two stepsons and they were so excited. They absolutely love the Michigan Chillers and American Chillers books. They decided they wanted to read them instead of be on their gaming consoles on the way home.My only word of advice about this place.... beware of Morticia!

Took my children here so they could drop off their photos for a contest Mr. Rand was holding. It was awesome seeing all the books in one spot. Mr. And Mrs. Rand were both so nice and engaging with the kids. My son is a bit sensitive so he had to step out earlier than he wanted, Mr. Rand took some time to talk to my kids and let them know how much their art was appreciated. What a great little blessing we have in Michigan!

Recently started collecting Michigan Chillers for my kid's library. We stopped by on the way home from the UP, and I am so glad we did. I was lucky enough to met the author and his wife. They were both very welcoming and kind. We chatted briefly, and I was geeked enough to ask for a picture, which he was happy to oblige. I was excited to see adult fiction as well, soI picked up "Season of the Witch" by Christopher Knight (J. Rand's pen name for adults). I read it in 2 days, it is a great collection of spooky short stories. I truly could not put the book down.All in all, whenever I am far north on I-75, I will be stopping at Chillermania to say hello and pick up some more chillers to the collection.- A Gruesome Ghoul from Grand Rapids.

We stopped for my children, they love the Michigan Chiller and American Chiller books, it was nice to find he writes for adults as well. I bought a book of short stories for my self called Season of the Witch that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it, perhaps the best short story collection I’ve read since Stephen King or Bentley Little.

We met and chatted with Jonathan Rand for about 20 minutes. He signed books that we purchased for my two grandkids and a poster for my daughter's classroom. Very enjoyable side trip on our way home from UP North. Loved it!

I grew up reading Michigan Chiller books and also enjoying northern Michigan. I was finally able to stop in and visit the store with my own children. They were so excited to meet & greet with Mr. Rand. I think we added a couple more fans of the Chillers series. A must stop if you're in the area! Thank you Chillermania!

Johnathan Rand is one of my son's favorite authors. We took a family trip to the store a few weeks ago and it was exceptional. Mr. Rand took the time to engage my children in conversation, joke with them and provide a few jump scares. My wife and I were highly impressed with how gracious he was. My daughter now LOVES his books after meeting him. I even picked up a few Christopher Knight titles for myself.

Great experience for anyone with kids that like to read. Independent book store selling the works of local author Johnathan Rand! Many times the author is in the store and is great at talking to the kids and signing Autographs!

Saw the billboard on our way to the UP. as an elementary school teacher where several of my students love reading these books, I was pumped. The author Johnathan Rand was actually working and took a pic with me, signed all my books I purchased and gave me pencils and book marks. My kids loved it. What a great experience!

We surprised our 12 year old daughter on the way home from vacation by stopping into J Rand's store. J Rand gave a presentation at her elementary school about 4 years ago and that is when she became hooked on his books. There are 2 age appropriate levels to his books. The ones on state are good for 4th and 5th graders. My daughter now likes the Michigan Chillers and she is in middle school. Rand's books are very creatively written. I do encourage any elementary school to have the author give a presentation to their students. J Rand relates to the students with humor and encourages them to become more creative authors themselves.

Absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in the author made me and my family feel super welcomed and excited! Had cool interactive decorations and the store is amazing. It was awesome getting to meet the author of my favorite book series! I definitely recommend going their! We got free bookmarks and stickers! Also I recommend getting the American/Michigan chillers trading cards theirs super cool!!! Will definitely be coming back!

Love this place so much because the joy it brings my son is unexplainable! We've stopped in the last 2 years when on a trip in northern Michigan. We didn't get lucky enough to bump into Johnathan Rand but many people do! My son would've gone bananas!
