Food is very unseasoned, if they added seasoning the food would be great. Has good potential. The barbecue chicken pizza is the best thing, chicken still isn’t seasoned though. Service is absolutely horrible. This place stands no chance with the wait staff they have. No idea how they have a total of 5 bartenders/waiters on a slow night and it still takes me 20 minutes to get a beer in between. Please season the food and get new help.

One heck of a good pizza! The service and menu and atmosphere and drinks were all great, but the cheesy cheesy pizza stole the show!! Great find in the middle of Northern Michigan!!!

Our fish dinners were good but the service left something to be desired. After waiting for an hour and no refills on our drinks, I had to flag down another server and ask her where our food was. Apparently it was never submitted so we waited another 15 minutes or so and finally got our dinners . They didn't charge us for our drinks. We probably won't go back because of the service :-(

0 stars called and ordered 4 times each time arrived to pick it up and they forgot about my order or never received it when I obviously talked to someone on the phone. Most waitress and bartenders are rude ignore you while you sit and wait. I’ll personally never go back again I’ve told them this is the fourth time it’s happened never did anything about it told me to contact the owner and the owner would never respond, bad service bad attitudes mediocre food.

Foods typical bar food not bad..names of the food are fun.. keep an eye on your bill tab. Every thing is market up a dollar and some change compared to what the menu prices is. Before tax. Smelt basket was 8.99 on the menu bill said 10.39 before tax. Every thing was about 1.40 more for each item ordered than what the menu listed it as.

After a very rude experience at Lucky Louies Pizza, we decided to come to Chauncey's for pizza take out. We sat at the bar, it was obvious they were short staffed and overworked. It took a while for our pizza to finish, but I saw them making bacon on the stove, so it's understandable. Quality-wise, it's good pizza. The crust is a little bland, but good pizza. The interior is clean and surprisingly quiet despite the other customers. The service was lacking, but again, they were understaffed and it was a holiday. I'll probably come back on my next vacation.

We had a very nice experience at this restaurant. We’ve been there many times when we’re at our cottage. The only thing I’d like to gently suggest is using more hygienic care when handling food. Handing me a slice of food for a drink with bare hands was cringe-worthy. Maybe gloves when handling food?

My husband and I felt like fish and chips. There was none. - Supply problems. Instead, my husband had smelt, which he loves and I had large shrimp. Delicious! We will be back. So good and hot food. Yum!

Well first off is a pub so keep that in mind. Their first priority is the bar, food while very good is bar food. I had a butter that was a great burger, the pub pig burger that has bacon and ham on it. My family came for the fish fry. If suggest that if you go make a point to ask for any kids food be brought first, the wait was long for all the food even appetizers, But again, it's a bar first.

Absolutely the worst service from a waitress ever! We have given it 3 different visits and it will be hard to go back if she is our waitress. We really want to like it because the food isn't bad and Hillman needs another food option. She gets your order wrong (but it's the cooks fault), the drink was horrible (but it was the glass' fault), argues with you when you point out the missing items and her response to a question about a menu item is "I have no idea Sir. I don't eat here".

They tried very hard despite being short staffed. They were out of bacon for all sandwiches, no longer served the sampler, also messed up the drink orders. They tried, 3 stars for the effort but probably wouldn't go back. Food was great when we got it. Just took a while for everything. Service, rounds of drinks, and the bill.

The waitress was probably the worst server I have ever had. Sad 😢. My husband had a great burger, and so did the couple we came in with. I ordered smelt,( only because they were out of wings). The smelt was nothing to write home about. The basic frozen kind. Didn't want fries, but got a plate, 3/4s full of fries. Won't go back.

It started out a good experience, good service, and good food. But one man at the bar, who seemed to know 2 of the waitresses, was so loud and vulgar that my food no longer tasted good. I mentioned it to another waitress and she said, "sometimes it's worse". Guess we will stick with Chatters.

Won’t return. Had a bad experience the first time we came here (not getting any service), but we decided to give it another shot. Ordered 2 drinks and burgers. Got our drinks, waited an hour, and food never came. Several people came in after us and got their food quickly. Waitress didn’t check on us ONCE. We had to go to the bar and pay our tab before leaving. Unfortunately can’t recommend this place at all.

Went in at the wrong hour to place a to-go order. The menu online looked really interesting and the reviews were positive. Fish and chips sounded good. It was really busy and was in there for a while, no one greeted me. I eventually left and tried to call in from the car. The phone was busy.We were disappointed but found another nice spot to get food. Might try again at an off hour later on.

Chauncey's Pub is AWESOME! I absolutely LOVE their Steak Night and Wing Night! Even the Menu items are very good! I love the BLT they toast the bread on their grill and the bacon is so thick! My Husband loves the Camelback Burger & the Sub sandwiches are phenomenal! The prices are so affordable you can take your whole Family out to eat. We DEFINITELY are return customers over and over.

Good food at competitive prices.....and have always felt welcomed (even before we moved to the area). Have never been disappointed with a meal!! Gave only 4 stars because there are NO DESSERTS on the menu! But you're just down the street from the Dairy Queen!And because I've always said that "the kitchen is a dangerous place," I'm "cooking" Chauncey's ribs for dinner tonight!
