Great customer service. The staff is always there to help, and they have a good selection. I only take a star off for the prices. They're really expensive, but the convenience of not having to go to Houghton if you're working on a project in Hancock is nice. Their stuff also tends to be much better quality than the discount junk you can get at Walmart.

Owner has good days and bad days. Quite temperamental. Definitely a Hollywood personality. Shame. The guy worked construction and seems pretty knowledgeable. Problem: he gets bent out of shape when customers ask for advice. Not smart enough to realize that with his pricing, service would seem to be the only reason to deal with him. Inventory is low, a lot of onesy twosy. Out of a lot of items. He acts too busy to help customers even when there's no one in the store. Too much drama!

We needed help replacing the inner workings of a hanging, antique stained glass lamp. We looked everywhere (local hardware, DIY stores, online) and could find only parts of what we needed. We stopped in at Risto's for one last look before we gave up and they not only had all the parts needed to complete the lamp workings, but also put it all together for us! Excellent hardware store with all the parts and the service you need. They go above and beyond expectations.

What makes this Hardware Store Exceptional besides The Slection, Prices, & Quality of Merchandise, Is the Owner. Risto has Worked with his hands for many years prior to buying this Store. Whether you have a Plumbing or Electrical issue, Maybe its a hard to find Tool, or Fitting, Just about any issue you may run into as a Homeowner, You'll get the friendly helpful advice here. If Risto's doesn't have it, You don't need it.

Top-notch all around! We just moved here and have been going to Risto's everyday since, getting home-improvement supplies. The staff, especially Lane and Risto (himself), have been very accommodating. This place is a breath of fresh air from the big city hardware stores that we are used to.

Risto makes me feel like an old friend when I enter his place of business.The service can not be surpassed anywhere else.will drive by 2 hardware stores in my town to go 15 miles further to Ristos.

Great local hardware store, very friendly and helpful staff. Been going here for years, they always have an answer to my questions (usually the right answer I should add). Wide selection of items, sometimes more pricey than other places but usually on-par.

This is a small operation and they listen. We have done some business here and I put confidence in them. Sure the all marts got stuff but these folks got a whole lot More. So check em out and keep the peninsula clean!

Surly staff. RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Go to Festy's or McGann's. The prices for plain black iron pipe fittings were twice what they were at Festy's. Will not be going back.
