Update 7-22-23: I was out this direction and decided to swing in get some of their in house popcorn. This stuff is very good and reasonably priced. Also figured I'd grab dinner here from the hot bar as well. But one look and I immediately changedy mind. I've NEVER seen grayish brown mashed potatoes. 🤢 The Mac & cheese looked like it's been there since this morning. As did the dried out looking potato wedges and onion rings. The chicken looked okay but I wasn't risking it. Also a number of the items in there fried, baked and rotisserie chicken display showed sell by time's of 4pm and I'm here after 5pm.Typical Spartan Nash store. Price points are a bit higher than say Meijer or Walmart. And definitely need a little better training on customer service. A couple times I've asked for help and not gotten it or tried to get employees to acknowledge me and had them pretend I wasn't there. I only shop here sometimes for certain sales or if I just need a few things and don't care to deal with the crowds at Meijer.

This location is so neat and clean. The displays are pleasing to the eye. The meat department was especially well presented. This is a smaller store than most of the Family Fare locations and they make the most of it. I have never been so impressed with a place that is generally just a mundane stop. The management and employees at this store take pride in their product. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping here.

A bit disappointed in the cleanliness of this store. I’ve never paid a lot of attention as I’m usually in a hurry grocery shopping. But once you have to slow down and really pay attention, you’ll notice a lot of issues with the fruit and vegetables and definitely the meat. The vents are full of dirt and crumbs, there is blood and juice that has dried on the racks for who knows how long and with new on top. I am definitely paying a lot more attention to where I am going to grocery shop. The store was my original go to, now I’m a bit nervous to go there unless you have gloves on. If you have a weak stomach for certain things I would avoid looking at these pictures.

Where do I start... everything is overpriced, and quality is not even that great. Its really slow and the employees are even slower. The register always loudly wont stop overexplaining Everything. They got rid of the only protien snack that isnt full of unhealthy ingredients. I could pay half the price at Aldis and get better stuff

This store is nicely set up and well stocked. We enjoyed just walking through it, although we managed to find a few groceries we could use.

I only come here once in awhile if I need something quick. Very nice store overall. But the cashiers could use some training in speed. I waited in line for like 15 min when there were only 4 of us in line. Also the produce, especially fruit, has not been great. Very bruised, moldy, etc. And it’s so expensive compared to other stores!

I dont typically shop at family fare however yesterday I went there so get one of your thanksgiving premade meals.The lady who was working at the Deli on Thanksgiving 2023 is a rare find these days (Not going to publicly state her name for privacy but it starts with an L and ends with an e)Excellent customer service, thank you so much!! You make me want to come back to family fare more often which is exactly how you should make a customer feel. Please if you are management and are reading this please reward this employee, thank you.In addition the store has always been very clean everytime I've stopped in and the people at the customer service desk and usually quite nice (Did have one issue before with one man being rude)I think my only complaint is your bottle room, please upgrade these machines, they are horrible.Andrew Alkema11/24/2023

Tina in customer service shows poor customer relations and communication skills. If she is having a busy day she will tells customers its not a good time to ask questions or for help. When asked why she is being rude her excuse is how busy store is or lack of employees on duty. In the time she takes to give these responses she could use it better by just helping the customers.

Family fare is a great supermarket. I've always found what I need except for one occasion. The service is usually very good and the "yes" card program is really nice. It is the rewards card that they use but unlike a lot of grocery stores, it is super easy to sign up for and use. The savings that come with it are usually pretty significant. Family fare is always clean and easy to navigate. I'd highly recommend coming here for all of your needs.

They have disabled vehicles that have been parked in their lot for quite sometime. Not sure why these are here, but personally, it makes me uncomfortable.

Absolutely horrible. Went to buy Dayquil when I’m sick and already feeling horrible. Ring it up and it asks for age verification, on Dayquil? Okay I guess. (Mind you I’m 38 with a lot of gray in my beard/hair and have my 13 year old daughter with me). First older lady comes to help and ask if I have my ID (as I’ve been sick and just got out of bed to pick up my daughter I did not)I say no and she says won’t be a problem I can tell your old enough I just need to grab someone that can clear the machine. 20 something comes over with her and older lady says we can tell he’s old enough just need to enter the info. (Keep in mind this isn’t the stuff they track behind the pharmacy where an ID is absolutely required) She says you don’t have an ID, I explain the situation and she says no, can’t do it. This is an age verification for Dayquil, seriously. I explain I’m 38, have my 13 year old with me and can’t buy Dayquil? No… Okay you can keep all the items then and it will be the last I shop here. Ridiculous, can clearly see I’m old enough, clearly see I’m sick, and not something that is tracked.

CHECK YOUR EXPIRATION DATES ON ALL ITEMS YOU PLAN ON PURCHASING AT THIS LOCATION! I placed an order using their Fastlane on 1/17/21 & they sold me products that expired in NOVEMBER!Tried calling to speak to a manager multiple times and by the third time I was able to finally get got through, after going back and forth they refunded my order & offered a free subscription for Fastlane.Definitely will not be using this location for a while!

Good products nice deli but the one thing that really gets me about this place is through the years of shopping here and having to visit the mens restroom i notice is always smelly and not very sanitary maybe their only interest is to make money not good customer experience 😡😡

Always clean and well stocked. The Family Fare "Our Family" brand, Mackinac Island Chocolate Fudge, light roast, ground coffee is awesome! I also appreciate the convenient Starbucks located within the store!

There have been a lot of staff changes over the past 6+ months. The newer employees are not as versed in customer care/customer service skills. I miss the outstanding customer care that I once received from the management staff on down.

I loved the store, I hadn't been in this particular one in over 5 + years. I never in my life had been to a store where there isn't any gallon whole milk. That blew my mind today. I think I walked around the store for 10 minutes in disbelief, lol. Other than that, it was a great experience, and everyone was super nice!

The subs sold here are way overpriced and not appetizing 😡and have cheap Velveeta cheese, and a tomato slice cut so thin it wouldn't weigh anything on a scale. My printer has thicker paper 📃 in the tray. The leaf of lettuce is a joke. Go to Subway for less money and a sub with toppings on it worth eating.

The deli deserves more help or at least trained staff. I only go here for Boar's Head deli meat. Unfortunately, the last few times they didn't know the difference between their meats, and it took 20 minutes for the woman to cut 2 small bags of ham and turkey. I didn't bother to ask about anything else and when I got home I discovered she gave me the wrong ham.

A manageable sized store when you're not feeling like dealing with crowds. Selection is basic. Staff are generally helpful. Produce and meats are fresh. Priced higher than the bigger stores but offers the convenience of getting in and out quickly.

Their sale items are mixed in with non sale items that you discover at the self check out. I've never gotten their Yes card to work. You're supposed be able to type in your phone number to use it but mine always says incorrect phone number.

This Family Fare is, by far, the cleanest and most stocked of all 4(Fulton, Leonard, 28th) that I go to. Family Fare ALWAYS has deals on soda... EVERY WEEK! So, if you are like me and like a variety of soda, you're bound to find a deal here. I always buy my soda here. HOWEVER, if you only like one specific soda, and either won't or don't like to drink any other soda... then YOUR soda might not be on sale. Good luck!

This used to be a great place to shop but not anymore. The service is seriously lacking. I sit waiting for help at the self scan lane. It doesn't want to scan the product. It keeps saying help is on the way. The "help" is working on a line of customers at the customer service desk. For such a large store it's surprising how very little thought was put into customer care.

I'm not only an employee, I am also a customer.The sales can't be beat and they offer great fuel savings with the 3 day sales and purchases over 50 to 100 dollars giving gas coupons from 50 to 75 cents off per gallon makes this an ideal store for economical savings all around!

Super clean and the produce section is beautifully stocked.It would be great to update the rewards program. I was surprised to be handed a piece of paper upon check out that required me to fill out and return on my next visit. It would be easier to issue a rewards card right then and there to customers like most places do.

Family Fare is known for having a clean environment, good quality food, and friendly staff. This location does not disappoint! It always seems like everything feels fresh this store and even customers seem nicer. You are not going to pay rock bottom prices but you usually get what you pay for. They have a nice deli, a wonderful Starbucks, and even a sushi bar!
