Great selection of books for your beach vacation! Great art prints of the peninsula to bring memories of your vacation home or to decorate your cottage. Also a nice selection of books and travel games for your children. We love the collection of magnets made from vintage children's book imagery as well as the room of puzzles!

Couldn't give it less then 5 stars being the place has such good reviews and when I stopped here it was unfortunately closed. Would have loved to get another book for the collection, maybe next time. Still was cool to check out from the outside. Place forsure looks unique.

I always make a point of stopping by when in Glen Arbor. The interior and environment is adorable and suits the little cottage town. They have a wide selection for such a small shop and highlight a lot of Michigan based authors. There’s also always a display of acclaimed new books that may not have been heard of yet and many artsy trinkets.

One of my fave book stores anywhere, but elevated in attraction by its location in a beautiful little Lake Michigan village. They have a rich selection of area literature, guidebooks, cards, posters, all very attractively presented in this cozy log cabin. Also you'll find all the best sellers along with personal recommendations and help from wonderful staff. Truly worth a visit.

What an adorable book store! I wandered in looking for a book for my husband to read on our trip. The staff was so helpful with picking out a couple of options based on his favorite author- and he is really into the book they recommended. Would love to go back and browse more- great selection and charming store.

Wonderful to find such an excellent little bookstore in such a small and out of the way place as Glen Arbor Michigan. Very easy to find good books. Currently limited to five customers at a time due to Covid-19 and the small space. Highly recommended.

my family and i came here not knowing what to expect. Glen Arbor is a surprisingly welcoming town and this bookstore is no exception. the staff were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to look for a book that i was hoping to find. they have a vast array of books, as well as a great selection of stickers and other items, which is something i love in a bookstore. i would love to return to this store the next time i’m in town.

Leelanau County is full of wonderful independent bookstores, and Cottage Book Shop serves Glen Arbor. You can always find best sellers and hidden gems. They also have a wonderful selection of local books, art, stationary and cards.

Beautiful little book store, and friendly staff, marred by a LQBTQAARP flag on the front window. Not to mention a section of books that blatantly pushes a "woke" agenda.I saw multiple books and gifts in this book store that I would have purchased, had these issues not been present.

Super neat historical log cabin bookstore. The owner is pleasant and happy to share its history with you. Lots of books, something for everyone. Wonderful selection of Michigan themed books when you walk in, many you can’t get at the mass merchandise online places. That’s why I always stop in when I’m in the area. There’s also a kids section. Don’t pass this by, it’s a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit. I highly recommend Cottage Book Shop in Glen Arbor.

A fabulously unexpected bookstore that we stumbled across a couple weeks ago. They did a great job keeping customers safe, and the browsing experience was wonderful - things were thoughtfully and interestingly laid out, and I could've walked away with a lot more. I did end up with a t-shirt, two books, and a couple other small goodies... but if my TBR pile wasn't already huge, I definitely would have gotten more!! I try and visit local bookshops whenever I travel, and this has been one of my favorites so far.

Charming little bookstore with friendly, helpful staff. They carry a nice selection of current bestsellers as well as a section of local literature. They also have a variety of others ranging from classics, mysteries, science fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, and architecture/interior design. Check out their collection of gorgeous posters from the Manitou Music Festival.

What a great authentic local book store housed in an historic, well renovated log cabin that was built about a million years ago. Perfect location to pick out your summer read while you are on your trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Surprisingly, huge selection. A great find for such a small community. Give them your business - let's keep this gem around!

Excellent little bookstore. Both of my boys and my wife found something. I was surprised by their selection of classic sci-fi on the shelves (but I listen to my books). When we first arrived, there was a guest author reading her book to a group of children outside. How cool!

After the great post-Amazon bookshop shake-out, the Cottage remains stalwart as one of my favorites anywhere. Not because it has everything (though they can order it fast) - that would be absurd! But because it is the most beautifully *curated* small bookshop I know. A careful selection of the best recent fiction and nonfiction, a wonderful and comprehensive local interest section, a riot of wonderful children's books, and some lovely cookbooks and other specialty items. Their discount program for repeat buyers also brings retail prices down well within the Amazon monopoly-power range. I *always* find something I want here, even if I didn't know I wanted it. And it's all in a wonderful magical historic log cottage just steps from the heart of beautiful Glen Arbor. It's a gem, and I hope it lasts forever just like it is.

I've gone to the Cottage Book Shop for quite a few years and it is the best. The ladies are very knowledgeable about their books and I always enjoy chatting with them. They pack a lot of good stuff in a small area. Thanks ladies, keep up the good work.

Cute and cozy.I especially recommend this if you're looking for a print or poster of the area.Whether looking for a book to read on vacation or a something to take home as a souvenir, the cottage book shop has you covered. It has a pretty good selection of best sellers and classics as well as young adult and children's literature for those looking for a good read. It's also one of the best places to go for books about Lake Michigan or the Sleeping Bear Dunes lakeshore area if you want something more local. In addition to those books, there's a great selection of posters and prints of photos, paintings, and posters (such as the Manitou Music Festival posters!) if you need something up-northy to decorate with.

Just about the best reason to stop in Glen Arbor. A small store, but good selection, and great staff. They have probably every book published about the Leelanau region.

They had really interesting stuff for sale, a nice selection of books. No comics much to my son's disappointment. Great service, great place to look around.
