The only good thing about this store is the customer service of the clerks and the closeness to my home that being said why is it always stores in the inner city that push out the worst in foods? Why should I spend $5 for organic strawberries that are old and moldy after taking them home. Spend the extra time to go to Whole Foods or Aldi or even Glory Market in Highland park but please don’t come here if you have a choice. The meat and fruit are always old and near expiration if not already expired.

Lacks assortment and prices are outrageous. This goes beyond inflation. They're in a lower income neighborhood and getting away with charging 2-3x more than other grocery stores. If you're willing to pay this establishment for groceries, you might as well go to wholefoods where they at least have better quality food.

The employees here are the nicest ever! They don't have everything Meijer does (like their "ethnic food" selection isn't very good - better salsa please!!!) but they usually have everything you need to get the job done and all the employees are the best in town.

Love shopping there, but that old Light skin rude and disrespectful person on the first register needs customer training or to be fired. She don’t speak and always MAD! Just poor service and she bad for business. Will be shopping and cashing my checks elsewhere.

Friendly, neighborhood store. Friendly atmosphere and never a long wait in line. I love their reasonable, flat rate for Jitney service (free with a 75.00 purchase)There are always unadvertised specials as well as competitive Weekly sales. I Love this Store!

Good store. Great customer service. I definitely LOVE the cashier's they are very friendly. The store is clean and I will buy the meat. You do have to watch some of the sale by dates on some of the non perishable products. Other than that good store.

This place has good deals if you can get there in time before they run out of items. Was disappointed though when I opened my box of Faygo to learn that two of the cans had been cut open, and wasted out ☹ make sure you check any case of beverage that you buy before you leave the store! They also offer free rides home if you spend over $100 on groceries, which is a great benefit of shopping there if you don't drive or have car problems.

It's a cool place to go some items I save on and others I don't the females cashiers are always Pleasant and if the owner see's the line gets backed up we will come out and help get you out. But that Aldi's I'm not down playing you I will always come in I don't want to leave my pic because you will know who I am

If they don't have it you don't need it. They have everything you dont have to weed through the shelves because they are nicely marked & put together. The service there is wonderful. They have a deli & their spinach dip- banana putting is the best I've ever had

The meat i bought looked scary, had greenish tint on bottom. Potatoes had black spots. Cans were dirty and rusty. Not a quality store for anything perishible. Ok for processed old stuff cheap. Crowded, but people were nice and felt safe. Not the worst store around but far from Kroger

I live in Texas now, but I frequented King Cole quite a bit when I lived there. My favorite is the bargain area as soon as you enter the store ..it's on the right. The cashiers were friendly. And I use to get their turkey tails.

VERY NICE PEOPLE I'VE KNOWN THE STORE FOR OVER 18YEARS.I REMEMBER I CAME FROM N.Y. I HAD PROBLEMS CASHING MY CHECK AT BANKS BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE A ACCOUNT...I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW I WOUND UP AT KING COLE FOODS. BUT THEY TOOK CARE OF ME, CASH MY CHECK, I WAS ABLE TO GO TO WORK, BARBECUE ,MOVIE'S. ETC .THERE PRICES ARE REASONABLE. THEY GOT SOUL FOOD TO BE COOK ALL YEAR AROUND. .

Potatoes we got had a lot of dry rot. Sometimes, the meat isn't good. The ground sirloin had a lot of gray water in it! Some of their meat is good, some of it isn't. Workers seem friendly and prices are OK.

The staff in this grocery store are very good at what they do. I have an ice cream man in the store that tells me the bargins on the ice cream and he lets me know about the new flavors to choose from. I love this store and the people who runs it.

I went to return a box Jiffy cornbread the box that I open and a bunch of little bugs in it after I poured the milk in I want to get a couple of bags and I came back and all the bugs floated to the top I had but two boxes so the other box I took back to the store the owner of the store after I told him about the one box of Jiffy you came from behind the counter and he pushed me and told me to get the hell out of his store then he pushed me again I turned around and I walked out of his store to call the police I waited for the police to come from 5 in the evening until their store close this happened on a Sunday so they close early on Sunday about 6:30 the police never came the next morning I called the police again and reported the incident the police did take the report from me and they gave me a report number there was a detective assigned to it but the detective never get back in touch with me so I called her she told me that she was trying to catch the owner because I guess there was some type of deception going on about who owned the store that's the last I heard I'm still waiting for him to be arrested for putting his hands on me he had no right to touch me I'm very disturbed about that again I'm 64 going on 65 years old I live in this neighborhood I've been here for 20 years he just came besides that I was so having so many problems would be able to even go in the store I paid him $300 cash just so they would leave me alone when I come into the store to shop to get groceries he took the money I guess he was just trying to get some more money out of me I like to finish this with I've been very naive I wanted to bring this to the public especially to the people that live in my neighborhood where the store is he needs to be held accountable for his actions thank you

I'll start with the staff. The people on the floor and registers have always been helpful and friendly. My rating of 2 is about the quality of product sold there, in particular the fresh produce, meat and dairy. The "fresh" chicken seems to be an ongoing problem. Many times it is spoiled directly from the package or does not hold in the refrigerator, up to the expiration date. The produce can be iffy, as well. Somethings that are in plastic have had signs of decay, such as liquidy spinach; moldy zucchini, still at full price. Pricing can be high, unless you are shopping their specials, which usually means it's food on its last leg. The same is true for dairy, like half and half. Many of the endcaps are full of close to or recently expired food. These foods are sometimes intermingled with other foods, with notice that they are still deemed fit to eat. King Cole is simply convenient, due to limited choice, in the area. There are things there that are fit to eat. The selection of seasonings and some ethnic foods has expanded. As you would anywhere, make your selections carefully (especially in the areas I mentioned) and pay close attention to those dates.

King Cole's used to have a lot of outdated Foods. Their Deli selections left a lot to be desired. The owner is up for suggestions. A lot of changes have been made. I give them an "E" for effort. Keep trying King Cole's. You've gone from a one-star to a three. You're in an up and coming location, with an excellent opportunity for growth. All eyes on you.

This grocery store is located on Clarimount and Woodward. I was raking leaves and needed some leaf bags and this store is the neighborhood grocery store so I called and asked if they had leaf bags and lo and behold they had leaf bags! Normally grocery stores don't have stuff like this, and you would have to go to Home Depot, etc for this item. I was very surprised that they had them and for a cheaper price than the specialty stores and the brand that they carried is a brand that Meijers would have. I also picked up a few other items and the prices aren't high as some other stores.

They have nice sales sometimes. It's really the only time you should shop there. They are extremely overpriced on a regular basis. And always check the dates in everything!! This place is notorious for selling out of date items.

Pricing is a bit higher, ok selection, works for basic grocery needs.A found a cooler with some vegan foods that I'll happily be exploring more. Needs some vegan cheeses.

The meat counter smells in there they don't bleach the area down at night or clean it should be sanitized in there or call the health department back there do not eat their meat that's already cooked the chicken this so-called deli is not clean go check it out..
