We stayed there by 23rd of October. It was perfect! The nature, the little attractions in the hotel that look like a cute small village, the Bavarian look of the hotel with its Edelweiß pattern everywhere, the rustic decor with the antlers and wooden entryway were stunning! I took photos of every beautiful detail. It indeed healed our souls to spend 3 beautiful days in Grand Lodge. We loved our modest open buffet breakfast, too. Stay here. Highly recommended. 🍁

It was nice. A little outdated in certain aspects, but otherwise nice. My family and I went through a Blue Green trial. It was a great deal to have an opportunity to see a new place. Pack a cooler though, as food options are pretty expensive. The mini fridge was a great tool to save money for breakfasts and lunches. Lots of family activities available, but it is more geared as a winter resort then summer. The spa was my favorite! Loved the massage, facial, and body treatments, and they have a beautiful whirlpool to relax in. All salt water! Boyne City was also beautiful to visit.

The lodge is nice and clean, and the Bavarian Alps theme is cute. However, our experience wasn't the best. We were supposed to get a crib, and it never came. Hospitality was supposed to tidy our room a time or two over our three day stay, but never did. The rooms are a bit dated, the bathroom fixtures are obviously old, and the curtains were moth-eaten. The beds are very hard and the pillows very thin. The food was good, but nastily overpriced. The breakfast buffet at Everetts in the lodge set us back $50 just for two adults.

Stayed briefly over night for a wedding so we only had time to walk the property. We will definitely be back with all of our kids to experience the full adventure! Great place and surrounding area! Room was very clean and spacious. We asked for a pack and play for the baby to sleep in and it was waiting by our room before we even got up there :)

The facilities, the staff, the ambiance (Xmas themed) we visited during Thanksgiving week. Loved our room a d the cleaning staff. Very spacious, comfortable bed and ample storage. Very nice size hotel with lots of things to do. Many on site resturants, we visited the main restaurant within the hotel most of our stay but also patronized an onsite bar/restaurant. The food was excellent at both establishments.

Great place to visit during the summer. The lake was great. The pools were great and everything was very laid back. Good and drink’s also surprisingly good. Lots if activities available as well. Glad we chose to check it out.

We had a good time, but our room did have a few minor things out of order and/or missing. The pizzeria on the resort is over priced and taste bland just so you know... but the Everett restaurant's food is very good. Other than that, I'd return to this resort.

Weekend getaway with my husband and 3 year old son in early November. The snow had not fallen too much yet and the resort was just starting to make snow as well. So we were limited on things to do onsite in terms of outdoor activities. The resort itself was nice, well kept and clean. Housekeeping came daily. We had access to the pool which my son enjoyed going to daily. The resort was also connected to Avalanche Bay which we spent a day at. There are restaurants on site which were a little overpriced and the food was just okay but the convenience was nice. The resort did have daily activities for kids and family to partake in.. Recommend checking out Raven Hill nature center in East Jordan which was fun for the little one. Not much to do in the area early winter for our family. Would probably return in summer or when my son is older. Overall though we had a nice stay and would recommend.

So it's hard to know where to start there are so many good things to say about this resort from the food to the staff from all the good times I had as a kid skiing with family and friends but let's start with the hotel rooms very clean very big not run down it all definitely worth the money I've paid we stay in one of the bigger rooms definitely had room for us and more friends to sleep. The restaurant will go out of there way to make or add on stuff to your meal just to make you happy and the drinks are so good love the bar. They also have so many things to do in the summer time from the water park to hiking trails and golf. They also have one of the top rated spa in Michigan we both had over a hour or 2 in there woth the money. If your thinking about a family vacation I'd highly recommend this family resort definitely one of the best in Michigan. My only complaint would be that the pool had lots of stuff floating in it as well as bees floating in the water The pool area also had carpenter ants all over the place that bite. This is only a summer problem and not sure what they do to fix this because of this I did not spend much time in the pool Which is my favourite thing to do.

If I could give this hotel zero stars, they would absolutely get it. If you’re a bride, you absolutely do not want this hotel to have anything to do with your wedding (especially if you’re having your guests stay here). We booked this hotel after they assured us they’ve worked with our venue before and that they’ve had many guests stay there. We had nothing but problems with our guests booking rooms. As far as the “hotel block” goes, they only release 10 rooms at a time. We were told that once the block was 90% full, they would release more rooms. That’s not the case. They told many guests of ours the block was full. I had to call to talk to them and was told I would have to pick out 10 other rooms for them to release. We did this same song and dance multiple times and let me tell you, if wedding planning isn’t stressful enough, receiving texts/calls from your guests saying the hotel is full just adds the stress on. Once our second block filled up, we had to tell all of our guests that the 20 room block we were allotted was it and all of our guests had to book rooms outside of the block for higher costs. We had a 250 person wedding and we were told “if you had your wedding at this venue we could hold more rooms for you” after they knew from the beginning where our wedding was and reassured us they’ve worked with our venue before. Let me repeat that: a 20 room block for 250 people. Do the math. If that’s not bad enough, our guests would call to book a room and the front desk would just say “that block is full” and not let guests know that there were other rooms available to book. I know this because I actually called myself to see what they would say. And when I asked them why they weren’t offering other rooms to our guests they couldn’t provide a straight answer. Terrible customer service at the front desk, absolutely terrible. Check in time is incredibly inconvenient, it’s not until 5pm. I was told by all of my guests that had rooms in the Clocktower that the rooms were absolutely disgusting, dirty, and full of mold. All of my guests that stayed there requested room changes immediately to stay in a different part of the resort. I cannot stress this enough, if you’re getting married, stay far far away from this hotel, unless you like having extra stress during wedding planning.

If I had to rate the staff I’d give it a 2. It seems that everyone I dealt with from the front desk to the upstairs restaurant rubbed me the wrong way. Hey, maybe it was me, but I’ve been to a lot of places in my life and this is the worse staffing encounter I can remember. The best staff for sure worked down in the water park at the snack/restaurant/bar. They were great! The rooms were nice. The park was nice with plenty of lifeguards. The upstairs restaurant was overpriced. They had bad seating and a boring atmosphere. Just order takeout from the water park area. You’ll be happier with your choice. My fiancé loved the spa. She said it was amazing and highly recommended it. A little expensive, but she had a great experience.

The rating is for the spa and its personal, who are friendly and go above to make customer happy. The hotel itself could do better I will not give mora than 3 stars to it. Overall is a good experience if you are willing to wait 2 hours for check in and overlook so details in the service.

Family had come here for years. This will be our last. I have never spent so much money to have such horrible service. From the lift operators who seemed to be annoyed we were trying to have a casual chat to the security guard who said he had no idea why there were no towels at the pool and then yelled "pools closed"like we were a bunch of college kids instead of parents and grandparents. Watching this poor server at the lodge restaurant trying to handle 8 tables while the manager sat at the bar drinking his Ice tea with the bartender who was drinking a beer right next to our bar drinks for 10 min instead of either of them helping her run drinks. (Great management!). Finally the literally 10 lift operators drinking in the hot tub, blasting their music and cussing in front of families and children. There's are a ton of ski destinations closer to us that give basic, friendly service. I'm not asking for 5 stars, just basic friendly people.

Great place to stay with the family. Kids had a blast at Avalanche Bay and swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool.

Excellent facility, staff was great, we would stay there again however I would not book my rounds of golf through them. I would call around and get better deals on the tee times.

We enjoyed our out stay here. Room was fairly clean... not spotless, but adequate. The grounds are very well-maintained and make the area a beautiful place to visit. Young girl at the front desk was nice and friendly but wish she would have taken the time to explain the resort a little better. She gave us all the informational fliers which we took to our room and read so wasn't a big deal.We were there during the week in July (Wed-Fri) and they ran the Hemlock chair lift from 4-9pm each evening. We, along with many others I noticed wished they would have offered it for a longer period each day. There are several walking and mountain biking trails on the top of the hill which I loved going down. The best bike trail in my opinion was the light blue trail. Do not attempt if you have never biked down a mountain before. However, if you're an experienced rider, you'll have a blast. Pick up a map at the Adventure Center at the bottom of the hill. They will expain some of the trails even if you don't rent a bike from them. The indoor/outdoor pool area was very nice. There are 2 hot tubs as well. Pool is on the back side (west side) of building so there is plenty of sun in the afternoon. Kids had a blast! We ate at the 2 on-site restaurants, Everett's and 40 Acre Tavern. The food at Everett's was just OK. Staff was a little short-handed the evening we were there but our waitress, Becky, did a great job to keep up with everything. The next night we went to 40 Acre Tavern. The food there was a little better, though not as good as I would have hoped given the price. I could tell the $24 salmon was a pre-packaged piece of frozen fish and was dried out. Good drink menu though. The place can get quite loud at dinner time when it gets busy. I like that kind of atmosphere but I know some might not.Overall, we enjoyed our brief 3-day, 2-night visit. There are a ton of activities for kids of any age. Or, you can simply find a chair to kick back, relax and enjoy the views.

Location is great.Rooms are also nice size. However one room had no windows. Not one. Total darkness. Can't say they are worth ~1,000/night, we paid for a three rooms suite, but it ok. It was new years.Biggest downside is the WI-FI. Totally unusable in our suite (323). I had to share my cell phone connection for my laptop and the Amazon Fire stick. In today's day of age, not having WIFI, is almost like not having electricity, or water. Shame. Also doors don't lock in one bathroom.Lights in one bathroom would go out in the middle of taking a shower (or any other activity) 🙂. Called maintenance, couldn't fix it.

We stay at the Mountain Grand Lodge quite frequently, as we come up here once a month for my husband’s profession, and we just absolutely LOVE it here! We have stayed in just about every style room/suite they have available to offer and our family thoroughly enjoys all the amenities and activities offered here. The waterpark is amazing, the sanitary conditions are impeccable and the park is meticulously staffed. The skiing conditions here are by far the best Michigan has to offer. The hotel itself is just absolutely beautiful and the rooms/suites are always very clean, comfortable and spacious. Each staff member in every department always seem to be extremely friendly, overly accommodating and very professional. I’d like to take the time to give a HUGE shoutout to the maintenance department in particular, and especially to a gentleman named Pat Reed. For the first time, our stay here had started off on the wrong foot, and so when we discovered that our heat was not functioning properly, we were a bit amiss to say the least, considering the frigid January weather we were experiencing. As soon as we called the front desk, Pat was at our door within minutes and the problem was immediately remedied. He was extremely friendly and personable, and very informative and knowledgeable. He answered many questions about the resort that we’ve always wondered about and what he didn’t know right off-hand, he went and found out and returned to us with the answers/information. He single-handedly ended up totally turning around what was panning out to be our first negative experience here and completely renewed our faith in, and loyalty to, the Mountain Grand Lodge. I highly recommend this jewel to all who seek a pleasurable experience in the paradise of Northern Michigan!

Everything shuts down on Sunday. Weekdays suck here. Everything is way way over priced. It does have a nice heated indoor/outdoor pool. The water pack is fun when its opened. Same price for half days or full days.

Very beautiful building. The room was very nice. But I couldn't give 5 stars because we showed up at 3pm and couldn't get our room until 4pm as it was ready. Than our key cards didn't work.

We stayed here for one night and it was not as nice as I thought. Everyone was friendly but when we got in our room it wasn't as clean as it should be. The whirlpool tub once filled had stuff floating and everything felt soapy. Then the bed sheets had stains. You would think being the grand lodge for Boyne Mountain it would of been a little cleaner.

The lodge is lovely. I was disappointed in the room for 2 reasons. It was beautiful, but the bed was only a double, which is unusual when there is only one bed for 2 people. I had difficulty getting in and out of the high bathtub and there was no safety handbag. The breakfast was very overpriced.

Room was clean, updated, and spacious. Staff was over the top! Great location, close to many northern Michigan hot spots. Drinks at the various bars in the resort were reasonable as was the food.
