It really saddens me that Mike's isn't the shop it used to be. I've biked for years and have always brought my stuff here since moving to Battle Creek 7 years ago. They've always been helpful and stood behind their work 100% in the past. The owner was always around and made you feel you mattered.I was injured 3 years ago and am just now getting back on my bike. I brought it in after breaking a chain and asked them to do a full run through and maintenance check a couple months ago. I put the bike on my porch due to michigan winter returning and just this week I could ride it again. I had an issue immediately with the shifting. I know it most likely just needs a quick look and adjustment. So, I brought it back in....and was told they would need to charge me to inspect it.3 years ago I guarantee that would have never happened. The tech, wanting to stand behind his work would take a look, make adjustments then encourage me to ride it again and if the problem continued then I would need to most likely pay for a possible repair.You guys can do better. Just disappointed to see the old service commitment to be gone.

These guys are amazing their help has been 125% if not more. They helped me find the right bike for my needs helped get all the right tools I'd need. Helped my sync control to my phone and let me y know what future upgrades I could do to my bike..

Went in to see what was wrong with my older bike, and wow, did Mike & his employees take good care of me! Not only did I learn a lot about how to take care of it, but they made sure everything was working properly and fixed a couple things pretty much free of charge. They had some good prices on bike accessories and had some beautiful bikes in there. 10/10 I will only be going here from now on. Thank you again Mike! I really appreciate your help today!

Had a great experience at Mike's Team Active. Had to drive from Sterling Heights to Battle Creek to get the bike my wife picked out, but it was well worth it. Everyone at the shop was super helpful and happy to share advice and recommendations for places to ride. Next time we need to spend some money on bike equipment, I think we will make a day out it and travel back to Mike's.

The staff and service is why we drive over 100 miles across the state to purchase our bikes and gear. We have purchased several bikes and accessories over the past year and the owner Mike and his team Maggie and Bubba have been more than helpful on testing the bikes, helping us with the right purchase and not being pushy. They know their stuff and have tons of inventory to choose from. I would highly recommend visiting this 2 story store that has everything a cyclist would want or need. Thank you Team Active with our new bikes and gear.

Mike's shop is what a local bike should be - friendly, helpful and with the stuff you need!My daughter and I just finished riding west coast to east coast - a few weeks ago, about 12 miles from Battle Creek, we had the dreaded Shimano shifter issue - we rode to Mike's shop just as it opened. While they were backed up with other work (and short a couple of mechanics), Mike had an old used shifter he gave us, plus space and tools for me to get it fixed.The icing on the cake was that he then called his mother and arranged for us to stay at her house - great lady and good company. Many many thanks - got us out of a bind and provided hospitality!

Mike’s the nicest guy in the world. I keep trying to give them my business. I can’t get anyone to give me service when I’m in there. I usually walk around for 5 minutes and look for my product to no avail. Maybe it’s me, but, I call the Custer Cyclery and immediately get service. Then I drive 10 miles away and get my product.

At Mike’s Team Active Bikes I experienced friendly, relaxed, and knowledgeable staff enjoying their time helping me find what I needed. I brought in a bike they brought bake to life. My every hope of how riding it might feel was surpassed. They do outstanding work and are so natural at it. You’ll be a better you for putting your trust in them. I felt safe having been referred to them by family. Now I am telling you they are worth it. I will be keeping them in my life for good. You will too.

I'm generally happy with the Cannondale gravel bike I purchased here, but the service plan (with 3 years of tune-ups for $99) is not exactly as it was described to me when I purchased the bike. I was told that I could schedule service in advance, bring the bike in, and then have the bike back same day. Mike even told me that I could borrow a bike for that day and ride the trails. But now that I'm calling to schedule service, I'm told the only option for a tune-up is to bring the bike in and leave it for a week and a half. Given that I live quite a distance from the shop, that is really inconvenient and not at all what was sold to me. So buyer beware with the tune-up package. It sounds great when they sell you the bike, but probably is not worth it if you use your bike regularly and/or live some distance from the shop.

I called store and was told they could mount tubular tires so I took wheelset to store and dropped off and received a call a couple days later saying they can’t due to lack of experienced staff. Wasted my time when I could have found a shop that did do it. To make matters worse when I went to pick up wheels they lost one of my brand new Zipp valve extenders without any offer to replace it. Just poor business.

The only drawback to this place is, their the only bike pro shop in BC and are very well aware of that. They don't intentionally use it for any leverage, but know it's there if they need it. All that equates to is, make sure you're super, mega, ultra polite so as to give them absolutely nothing whatsoever to fault you for. Sounds like a personal issue? Maybe, but it doesn't change that their running things personally rather than strictly business.The selection is decent. For the most part they seem to offer two-thirds Specialized and the other third Cannondale for their bikes. They absolutely know bikes and have an alright selection for both bikes, parts and related accessories. Usually reasonably efficient at simple fixes and not too long for more difficult & involved repairs and/or upgrades/changes to your bike.But while I started with a bit of admitted criticism, for the most part this bike shop is all-around great. It'd also help to add another star if they had any real BMX bike selection. They technically, last time I was there, had a couple of GT one's, but not what you expect as those are 29 inch BMX bikes as opposed to the more conventional kind. Hey, it's their shop, do what you want, but being the only bike pro shop in town it shouldn't be too hard for you guys to know that if you did offer a real selection of BMX bikes that they'd surely sell well as again, you have no other local competition. See? While they are well aware that their the only pro shop in town it's not all bad, they could very easily use that simple & basic fact to their great advantage.

There's good and bad at this place for sure. The good is they are an excellent bike pro shop. Wanna get a legitimate bike that'll last and not something mediocre like most department stores offer? This is definitely a top place to seriously consider. The bad is that over the past couple of years they became the last remaining bike pro shop locally (excluding any department stores, again, pro shops) and their very much aware of this. Mike himself is still mostly a laid back kinda guy, but about half of the other people there are difficult to communicate with without inadvertently conveying the wrong message to them.

We are blessed in our area to have several great family owned bike shops. But I have to say - Mike’s is tops for me. What incredible people! Their passion to help and care for people is unlike anything I’ve experienced at other shops. Yea - they’ve got great bikes at great prices. But I was blown away by the people. Just go there. Several years ago I had several less than favorable visits to Battle Creek's bike shop, and they have been through a lot, but I am glad to see Mike's becoming the place I had always hoped it could be. The shop is filled with dedicated staff that are passionate about biking, and the variety and size of inventory is enough to take care of most biking needs.

I bought a bike from them a few years ago and have been very happy with it. I started having an issue with the chain skipping gears so I took it back to them, they fixed my problem and now the bike is like new again. Seth was very knowledgeable and had me back on the road sooner than I expected.

Over the years, I've bought many bikes from Team Active. Comfort, road, hybrid and now ebikes - both adult and kids. Mike and staff are great to work with and are accommodating from selection to service. Great to have such cool shop in our back yard.

Could not be happier with my experience here. Great selection although I knew what I was looking for when I came in. That being said it was actually in stock which is a feat in itself considering the current environment. Awesome customer service and fitting. Hooked me up with some clip-less pedals and shoes too. Will definitely be back for any future cycling needs.

This shop is the finest I’ve experienced. Our team is on a ride from Indianapolis to Mackinac, and we ran into some fairly significant issues with a cable and shifter.Mike went WAY out of his way for us, and have us far more service and support than we excepted or hoped for. Mike is genuine, loves bikes, knows his stuff, and loves people well. He will take care of you.In addition, as each of the staff there helped us out (thanks Andrew, Michael, and Brandon!) they were all knowledgeable and friendly. Spectacular service, honest business, and great people.I wish I lived closer than Indianapolis so I could be a regular here. Mike deserves your time.

Bought my first serious Trek Mountain bike here. Every employee was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Providing the same service time and time again for bike service, etc. As for the bikes, there is a huge selection that range in cost. I absolutely love my Trek Marlin 5. I would, and do recommend Team Active for anything bike related. 🚴

I purchased my very first full suspension mountain bike here...Mike was awesome, the team in general was good overall! My only complaints are my bike wasn't set up for me, I came home did my research and the shock pressures were way too low, I had a water bottle holder installed and you can't even fit a water bottle in it ... I believe this should have been checked by the installer.

I bought an E Bike from them in May 2020 and Maggie was very informative, took time to answer all my questions, customized the bike for me and delivered it to my home right after I purchased it. When I took it in for the 1 month checkup, my truck broke down on the highway and Maggie came to pick my bike and me up and took us to my home, 15 miles away. She wouldn’t take any money for it. That is customer service!
