Every fly, fruit fly, deer fly, and gnat in Michigan were also staying at this campground on this particular weekend. The bathrooms could have been cleaned way better and the out houses needed some sort of air fresheners/ bleach/ or lemon dish soap... anything! The little beach was pretty nice and the general store was pretty awesome. Plenty of hiking trails. Kids loved the playground.

I have been here several times over about a 20 yr spand. Mary is wonderful the kids are a delight and a husband is very simple spunky dog as well!! Love the fact this site is in there back yard...an has a swimming pond!!! A river. Outdoor games. Over 60 acres!!!!! Just a wonderful wonderful time here. Oh and has a small store on site!!! Tent RV or cabin!!!! Or just swing by and visit.

Pretty land. Pond is nice. Managment was nice. Lots of red neck types around, nice enough people, kinda shady though. Place is run down. Bathrooms are very few, kinda thrown together and not maintained. They were out of toilet paper half the time and shit paper in the trash and on the floor. The outhouse smelt like death incarnate. Cabin was a glorified shed kinda just thrown together with very aged everything. Ac unit was barely working and had a broken knob. The beds were a curse from the gods... felt like it was made in the 1950s out of metal and hate. Like a mid evil torture device. Kids had fun, made some good memories. So overall got a 3.5. You can do better ruby, I believe in you nice folks! Take some pride in what you do!Rooms: Outdated and run down

I didn’t know what to rate it… I gave it half of what they already had, 4.40 got them a 2.2 or just 2.I tried to get to this place from Kimball but with something like ““.6 mile” to go, I saw nothing but dirt road ahead of me. It wasn’t that my vehicle and trailer were going to get dirty, all I saw/felt was washboard bumps and me and my van weren’t ready for that. Perhaps another time I’ll try it… or even better, maybe they’ll have it paved before my next visit 😮

We stayed here for a night on our way back home from a long journey. 31' motorhome, 2 people, 2 dogs. Sites are all grass which is perfect for traveling with dogs. We were in an electric only site which was huge (and it was one of their smaller sites). It backed onto the creek and was absolutely beautiful. Lots of trails to walk the dogs and we were able to take them swimming which was great. We arrived after they closed up shop but waited for us anyways, and didn't charge us their standard fee for staying 3 hours later than check out. We would definitely stay here again.

Love this campground, and we aren’t campground people lol We usually camp in the middle of the woods! We loved our site #3! It was backed right up to the river, with trails galore! We didn’t bike the trails we walked them and we walked them all! I used to come here when I was a kid and I’ll say it’s been 15-20 years since I’ve camped here and I was very happy with the site, and the owners are amazing! Very nice people, very accommodating and great customer service! Their little store that’s on the campground, had anything and everything you’d ever need! The pond was very clean and beautiful! They also have kayak rentals! My sister learned how to kayak this weekend on the pond and it was a very fun experience for her! We will definitely be coming back and we’ll be bringing the kiddos! Thank you for an amazing experience ♥️ Take care, until next time!

I really liked this campground. It's in valley which makes it nice and quiet. I couldn't hear any road noise, which was great. I was there in the middle of the week so not much was going on. The grounds were well cared for and the staff was friendly. I will definitely come back sometime.

Small and very tightly managed campground. Beautiful pond, lots of trails, no city light pollution for miles around. The park is centrally located to the sites, kids can be seen from most of the grounds at the park. Facilities are superbly clean and management is heavily present to help you start your first fire 😂 or slow down anyone acting dangerously. Very friendly campers and staff, amazing camping site for younger tenderfoots.

Very nice and clean Campground, everyone was very friendly. It was very quiet after 10 pm. Prices are fair compared with other campgrounds. We would highly recommend staying at Ruby Campground you will enjoy your stay 😊

Mixed feelings about this one. Full-hookup sites are on grass and not in a very scenic area. If you're a nature lover, electric only sites are better. Some border on a lovely stream -- a great place to have your coffee in the morning. Some sites are very narrow. Ask before you book, or I hope you love your neighbors. Part of the rustic camping area is a large open field and lots bordering the steam appear to be small and not level. Again, the scenery is nice. One centrally located wooden outhouse serves the entire rustic and electric-only camping areas. I would say emergency use only. I understand there are flush toilets elsewhere, but I'm not sure where located -- probably close to the office, tiny cabins and full hook-up sites. Pay showers are available up on a hill near the dump station. I understand the owners are very nice and, from what little contact had with them, I agree. From reading some other reviews, I have to agree that quite hours are not enforced since I could hear a radio playing from a good distance away at 11:30 p.m. Not good for those who want peace and quiet. I suppose if you're looking for a place to party with your friends and are not too picky about your surroundings, you'll love it there.

Great campground if you have kids who enjoy fishing and swimming. The sites are close together but it was not a problem. I just don’t recommend this place if you want a nice quiet kid free camping trip. We had a electric only site that backed up to the river and it was beautiful. Next time we come we will be bringing our bikes for a faster ride up to the front of the campground. If your into mountain biking the trails looked challenging. We will add this to our list of campgrounds to visit again.

Amazing campground with so much to do. The pond and bike trails are wonderful as well as the rivers off of the trails but my only complaint is that the service out in this area is awful. Everything else is awesome and there are so many activities to participate in from scavenger hunts to karaoke to fishing competeions. I have only been once but will definitely be coming back in the near future. The atmosphere of the place is very family friendly but isn't the greatest for littler kids as they can't ride any of the trails very well due to the steepness and amount of hills that are located on them throughout the course

Nice location for a campground, just wish they had water hook ups at more sites. Don't forget to fill up your tank when checking in. They do have a playground and pond for swimming, but I wish they offered some kids activities. There are a few full hook up spots, but they are smaller with no trees. The spots along the creek are much nicer spot, but are electric only.Bathrooms are not kept up very well. The one time I used one during my stay was dirty and out of toilet paper.

Nice campground with great scenery and bike trails. The campground does not have the bells and whistles of some other campgrounds, but the location is nice being in a basin next to Mill Creek and the price is reasonable. Shower and toilet is located a distance from most of the sites and upkeep on these is hit or miss on a busy weekend. There is little to no cell service in the basin, so keep that in mind (Verizon - not sure on other carriers). Call early if you want a creek side site. Some sites are not as roomy as others for a travel trailer, and most of the sites are electric only. There are some full hookup, but they seem to be long term only. There is a dump station and well water. Mountain bike trails are very nice and well maintained. Pond for swimming is also on site. Small camp store on site, and Ruby General is down the road for beer, pizza, or other basic grocery items.

Seemed okay at first, kids were running around the whole time, riding bicycles and playing in the roads after dark (a campground rule that management themselves seemed to ignore). We were left the attached note. Granted we didn't see the rule about leaving animals unattended until we returned, but to say its cruel to leave our kennel trained animals in an air conditioned camper for a few hours while I'm at a wedding is way too far. The alternative would've been to leave them back in Kansas where they would've been in their kennels the whole time, only to be let out twice a day. If the problem was them barking while in their camper, I can guarantee it's a lot less disturbing than the neighbors who where having intercourse in their tent, as well as the camp about 100 yards away with two dogs that NEVER stopped barking.

Great campground! Makes you feel like you are up north. Great sites lots of shade. There is a creek to fish or a made man pond up front to fish or swim in. Playground for the kids. Dogs allowed. For sure one of my favorites to go camping

I've been to a few campgrounds around the area, and this was by far my favorite one. it's quiet, peaceful, very clean, and secluded from the rest of the world. it's a perfect place for a mini vacation / get-away. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and private. I recommend this Campground for everyone whose trying to have a relaxing getaway. Also it's only 20 minutes away from Port Huron.

Ruby campgrounds is a very fun place to comeWith your family you can climb a very steep hill or go swimming in a lake with your dogs but if you don’t like dogs you can go and swimming in the lake in the front were dogs are not aloud I love s’mores and every campground comes with a fire pit I got the rustic campground in fact and it was very nice with a picnic table as well

Very clean for a campground. The staff was really kind, as well as helpful. Even after the on site store closed, if you needed anything, they would open it up and allow you to purchase things. The showers and bathrooms onsite were cleaned on a daily basis while I was there, and rather convenient. There are also a couple of solid stick built structures with outhouse toilets built in, they were in serious need of odor neutralization, it was enough for me to walk the extra 70 yards to the indoor bathrooms. The showers cost 0.25¢ for every 5 min of use, with a maximum of 30 min use. The water for the shower have a slight slimy/conditioned texture, almost as if you can't quite ever get the soap rinsed off completely. I didn't notice any well water smell or anything like that at all. There are a lot of winding trails and hills here, you may not fit a full mountain bike down some of them, unless your really testing your ability. Make sure you have a decent pair of hiking boots as well, the trails are very well test worthy, and almost have an untouched feeling to them, except for the trail clearing if course, the trail even travels across a nice little river in 2 different sections. They actually have fossils located within this property as well, not planted, or man made fossils, I'm talking about real organic fossils. We found a few of them while fossil hunting, when we were exploring the grounds. They have a really nice pond for swimming, with clearly marked areas. Rentable boats and other water riding, not powered items. You can also let the kids fish in the same pond, as long as it's not near the swimming area. The winding, shallow river that flows through the property, is closer to the rustic, and power only sites, which at this property I highly recommend. The full hook up sights are all located at the front of the campground, and see every bit of traffic in and out of the campground. The traffic on hot days can be annoying, with the amount of high dust that it kicked up. The vehicle and pedestrian traffic also makes it challenging to get a decent night sleep due to people having to arrive at their points of interest, by traveling past your camp site. It's not a bad thing necessarily, but don't expect to sleep in, if that's your idea of camping. If you want to have a bit of seclusion, you will have to select a spot that is rustic/power only. I don't sleep in or go to bed really early, so for me, I was a 7/10 satisfaction when it comes to noise disturbances while trying to sleep, and that's ok. Do NOT let that take away from this campground. If you have not been here before, I recommend you try it. I didn't mention the things that I mentioned, for them to be looked at negatively, I mentioned them, because I'm honestly reviewing my overall experience at this facility. This campground is located pretty deep in a valley, which helps keep the weather off you actually. It really makes you feel like your far away from everything (in a great way). No, this place does not have great reception, or Wi-Fi at all. What it does have is a family run, small town feeling, portrayed by everyone employed at this place. They talk, relate, take interest, and help you any way that they can. It's for all of these reasons, that I will use this place several times per year from this point forward. Most campers will continue to revisit places that they feel make them feel a million miles away, when it's rather close, this is that kind of place in my opinion. If you are new to camping, or nervous about how to go about even getting started, just call this place, they will walk you through the process, and make you a friend before your departure. While your there, enjoy the breath taking views, I know I did. Thank you Ruby-Campground, for making my family feel warm and welcome! 😊 Again, I fully and honestly recommend this place.

Nice campground, but if you want a site with full hook-up you will be packed in like sardines!I will never come back to this campground for that reason. You literally are arms length away from other campers. No privacy at all.

The sites were small, place very over crowded. No where to ride bikes unless you use their extreme mountain bike trails not good when your 70. People played music and sang until 12:30 or 1. Everyone walks through your site. No a good experience.

Cabin 4 leaked several places, fan didnt have a pull string, inside door handle came off and the caterpillars were inside when we arrived. We did let staff know to fix the stuff so our next visit will be better except no rain either next time.
