This has been our local big y for 12 years. The produce is awful! Most of the time the produce is either damaged or rotten. We are surrounded by farms and co-ops, there’s no excuse for this. I’ve been to other big y locations and noticed their produce is better which leads me to believe it’s a store issue. I’ll be on the phone with the corporate office to find out why this is.3/5 Fish and Chips and clam dinner, GREASY!Practically dripping with oil. Stop hiring kids that don’t care.Update 3/17, Big Y strikes again. The corn beef we bought there was rancid, loaded with grizzle.Not even salvageable. Whoever does the ordering at the store is a moron!!!! Last straw, we’re looking for other options to shop.And to add insult to injury, this generic response and fake apology, while they keep my money just makes it worse. Let’s see if the health department accepts that nonsense.

I’m dying in bed or close to it currently. Absolute torture. Why do I say this in a review? You’ll come to understand. I just realized while thrashing feverishly in bad for over thirty hours, I went grocery shopping here recently. The guy who was bagging my groceries asked me how I was. I said fine. He said well I’m fine too. (I’m not sure why he felt like he needed to tell me that.) But then he went on and said “I just found out I’m not sick anymore! I was sick with the worst flu!”Immediately I told him “well if you were sick I think you should move about 6 feet away from me. I’m bagging my own groceries anyway. You don’t even need to be here. ….If you could just back up.”And the guy did not back up, and kept talking to me and telling me I was fine/ he was fine. I kept telling him I don’t care. I want him to back up. I’m susceptible to getting sick. He was incredulous about it and barely moved away. So there you go, I was exposed to somebody who had a terrible flu according to him. Forgot about that. I suggest big y have a word with this menace bagger. My rating is based generously on the whole store itself, not this, but be careful around the baggers this week. Big Y has been one of two grocery stores I’ve shopped at my whole life. Stop and shop is usually better (except the bakery which bigy wins every time) PS-they are BOTH dirty and need to hire people who know how to clean.

Nice recent upgrades to the store. It is over-priced on produce, in my opinion. This is compared to other stores in the area. Great otherwise!

Nice store, food service had a lot of fresh product available. We spilled something on the way out and I went to let an employee know, and when I told the Employee Service Rep about it, he looked at me like I was crazy for telling him. Bad energy, I feel sorry for employees looking to seek help from him. Otherwise great experience, front end staff and store director thumbs up!

this big y use to be better it seems like the employees always have an attuitude and the costumers are as well and there out of stock on a lot of things i feel like biges there always friendlier and better selection also the store is suppose to be a family onwed store sure dont act like it!

Responses to negative feedback look automatically generated. They don't care about improving because they get good business due to location. They used to be so much better. Now, it feels like they are always renovating something, and the prices are outrageous. I shop here out of convenience, but at this point, I think im gonna drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Wal-mart. At least they dont pretend to be fancy as a front to upcharge you into oblivion.

Due to the incompetence of whoever runs this store my cold food items were not taken off off my bill, deliberately after a store employee told me they would fix it for me upon my last visit. Instead the staff chose to look down upon me and scoffed that I should have another form of payment. Gotta love being treated like less because I need EBT.

Went in looking for masks, which I figured would be a given, and found nothing.Elsewhise I worked here for a few years, the employees are nice but you're getting scammed shopping here IF they actually have what you need. Also they go through managers like candy. The location is convenient but go to stop & shop or something if you want one trip.

I am disabled and have to use a cart when I go into big Y.. The staff there are extremely helpful always. Monica in the self checkout line is such a nice person and is always willing to help. In my most recent visit I wanted to get a perennial for a friend but I had the cart and could not go outside because I could not walk. Andrea in the floral department was super super helpful and escorted me out the door to pick out the perennials for my friend. This act of kindness is so appreciated that is why I choose to go to big Y instead of any other store to buy my groceriesThank you so much to the wonderful employees at Big Y.

Friendly, motivated employees all over the store are easy to access and willing to help. They'll open up more checkout lanes, find items for you, offer advice at the deli or meats counter - always polite, always with a smile. They're the BEST.

Pre-ordered 5 sandwich platters for a party to be picked up on 7/23. Placed the order with Randy. Everything was great! He was so helpful, answered all my questions, and made great suggestions. Super flexible and happy to make any kind of sandwiches I wanted with whatever I wanted on them. We got turkey, ham, tuna, and roast beef. The whole thing was so easy and stress-free and the sandwiches were amazing and such high quality! Really affordable I thought as well. If you ever need to order a bunch of sandwiches for an event I highly recommend Randy and this Big Y!

My go to for groceries. Good prices. I decided to order the clamp strip and chip plate, very disappointed. The young gentleman who was working was not enthusiastic about his job and it showed when it took 3 minutes for him to notice me, 5 feet away, once I said something. Then when I opened my order, he obviously didn't shake the basket while cooking my food because I got 3 big clumps of clams stuck together. Shame, cuz the ones I was able to eat were delicious 🤷‍♀️😥

Convenient but pricey. Love the store and people who work there. Many kids who've been there for so long you get to know. Unfortunately, groceries are cheaper at other places. With today's economy you need to do what you have to do to get by.

Order 2 Fish and Chips Dinners on 4/1/22. Normally this is excellent, but I was disappointed when I got home. The fish and fries were good , but they forgot to include the coleslaw and condiments. Suggest you check the box/bag before you leave the store.

My husband and I are regular shoppers ofSouthampton Big Y. We have had sandwiches from the sandwich shop a few times before. Today I grabbed us a couple sandwiches for lunch again. We both agree that these were the best ones we have ever had! Simon took his time and made us both, a delicious sandwich! We we will absolutely be back and hope Simon will be there to make our sandwich again!

I come in almost every day for a blt sub. Now normally the bacon is heated and theres a pretty decent amount of lettuce on there, but for some reason today the younger dude with curly hair and glasses didnt cook my bacon and put a pinch of lettuce on the sandwich needless to say its definately not the greatest one I've had there amd they are usually pretty awesome except for today. Kinda disappointed.

Great grocery store if you are rich and have money to burn! Many of the items that are on the shelves, "dry stock items" are highly overpriced and can find at many other stores same products for less. Really anything they sell you can find elsewhere for less other than of course their own store named products. The workers are very friendly and if you have the money, like I said to burn, this is a great grocery store with its own bakery, fresh produce department, fresh seafood department, fresh meat department, as well as a separate deli department. Most of the items however are no different than what they sell at other stores, except the difference in price. IMO prices are marked up beyond belief, IMO!!. Friendly staff, lovely shopping experience, just need the money to be able to shop here.

Extremely rude mangers and obviously overworked staff, I've never had the displeasure of shopping somewhere were every single employee looks tired and the 'managers' just keep barking orders. I feel bad shopping here, it feels wrong supporting a company that doesn't support its workers. Specifically one who I think is named Mark just seems exhausting, I don't even work there and his voice alone ordering around people who obviously aren't getting paid enough made me want to quit.Aside from the staff, everything in here is overpriced to a greedy degree, and if you have the kind of money to shop here you have the kind of money to shop somewhere far better. Stop & Shop is much cheaper while somehow maintaining a better quality store, I'll be shopping there from now on instead of this rinky dink roadside scam shop of a grocery store that doesn't even require masks. Way to not take a global pandemic seriously, good job putting your min. wage workers' lives on the line to sell terrible out of date food for double what it should be.Don't shop here, let it die.

So about three years ago I used to go to Stop & Shop religiously I thought they were the better grocery store. But I recently moved closer to a Big Y and I see that I was going to the wrong store. Big Y is such a cut above Stop & Shop in many many ways it's the better store.

Just another example of Big Y' a deception, just look at this weeks flyer...they show a pile of steamers for $6.49lb but then they tell you that the sale is for littlenecks. Also becareful when you go to get kielbasa, theres a pile of 6.99 next to the 5.99 one.. you really have to pay attention at these stores!

It's always very clean and pretty. However, the prices are always very expensive, more expensive than other chains (such as stop and shop) and mom and pop shops (such as Big E, down the road). In addition, there are no scooters or wheelchairs available, as far as I could tell. So someone like me, with mobility issues, is stuck wheeling around on my walker and getting dirty looks if I have to go on my own. The employees tend to be rude, at least to my spouse and myself. However, they do get in some items that I haven't found in other stores, so it's a take it or leave it.

The deli makes a mess of the sliced meat. If I saw before I paid for I would have tossed it back at them. You folks got too big. Customer service is downhill. Buy your deli meat somewhere else

This Big Y is nice and clean, plenty of pleasant women at the Deli so your time isn't long or miserable! They always have a young crew of workers their so keep that in mind ut may be your kids employed their. So they are great at keeping the young people employed... They also have a little y and my son always wants to go hang out their which is Great!!!!

Very clean store (Southampton) with helpful friendly staff.A few items have been removed that I had purchased in past. I assume a business decision however those items would be entirely emptied from the shelves from my prospective. It is their store so I have easily found those same items from other vendors.

Very nice staff here. Very helpful. Butcher shop had suggestions as to how to prep for a bbq in having for seasoning the meats I got from them. Plus they have the pizza shop here. Also sushi station as well. A wonderful. Little flower shop.
