I could not say enough.From the second Buddy and I walked in , we both felt super comfortable and I felt as though my baby was in the best of hands at the pet spa. Theresa was so sweet and gave buddy some love and super yummy salmon treats and he warmed right up to her. Jean groomed buddy and he couldn’t smell better, his paws are nice and clean and his nails are trimmed perfectly. He was so happy and I can’t wait to keep bringing him back for all of his grooming needs. Thank you so much Pet Spa team.

Fabulous! We’ve been taking our pups to pet spa for three years now and we absolutely love them. Our dog Sam enjoys his time here and is always happy when we pick him up. He looks and smells SO good!

I took my 4 months old cavapoo puppy for her first experience in a beauty parlor and it was a total success !! Excellent service and much kindness. I am sure Pitchounette will not hesitate one second to go back to PetSpa when she needs it. She looked like a little princess with a flower in her hair ! 🐶

PetSpa is the best! Our petite goldendoodle has been going there for regular grooming for almost six years. We tried other places before going to PetSpa but the cuts were never as good and we didn't get as good a feeling about the environment of those shops. Our dog was always very thrown off when she got home. When we take her to Pet Spa she always comes back looking super cute and smelling fresh. Though grooming isn't her favorite activity, she feels very comfortable at the shop and the groomers always greet her with lots of love. They always put her and us at ease. We are so glad to have PetSpa!

Took my dog Snufkin to pet spa for a last minute groom and it was a great experience!We were squeezed in 1 day after I called and Snufkin was seen by David, who did the perfect job on my dog. He was informative, professional, and Snufkin looks soooo cute.Thanks so much for the last minute appointment and special thank you to David for the great styling !!!

Buyer BewareIf you take a look at other reviews for hypoallergenic dogs (doodles/poos etc.) you'll see a consistent trend. After you drop your pup off, they will call you about an hour later telling you that the matting in your dogs hair is too severe and everything needs to come off. What makes this even more frustrating is that you'll notice the same trend occurs when it relates to "behavior" during the bathing process. This of course comes with an additional $15 dollar fee that cannot be disputed because they're the only people who are in the room. To be clear I have an 11lb cavapoo, she has had 4 major surgeries and every vet I've ever been to says she's a great patient so it can be hard to believe that the discomfort of a bath can cause turmoil for a professional.So, just be aware that while I have always respected and appreciated the staff on human level (nice people) I cannot recommend using this groomer. There's a reason why the the 5 star reviews seem so generic and the negative reviews are incredibly specific.I never want to intentionally hurt a small locally owned business as here in Somerville we champion and support them as much as we can. However, having the exact same negative experience 3 times is very disappointing.They will likely try and push this review back on me and say that the customer is at fault. However....If I had a client who specifically cited this experience happening when walking in and said "If you have to shave her all the way down, please let me know because I would prefer not to get any services done" only to call them back in an hour, telling them that you owe $65 out of a $90 total charge for a bath...well thats ludicrous. When I asked them if I could be met halfway they said no, all i could do was pick her up and do the cut myself or bring her elsewhere.To their point, next time I will be bringing her elsewhere.

I had read the reviews before booking, but was really surprised by the customer service. I will say, the groomers did a decent job in a short period of time, but the overall service was awful. I dropped my dogs off at 11 this morning. I called around 2 and the receptionist said the groomers were running late and that the dogs most likely wouldn’t be ready until after close and that they hadn’t even started working on them. I got a call around 3:30 saying the dogs were done, which was a surprise since I was initially told it would take four hours. I left and got there a few minutes after 4. While trying to find parking, I got a rude call for the receptionist asking if I’m coming because they are closed. I went inside and she quickly rushed me out and was still quite rude. I understand that she might have been upset because she needed to leave, but if you expect people to pick up their dogs before you close, actually try to finish on time and give enough notice so that they can get there.

My dog win loves coming to get spa. She enters into the spa happily and she’s warmly greeted by everyone. I can tell that they treat her well because she is happy to go inside each and every time we visit. Tahnia and the whole entire crew does such an amazing job. They also make sure what type of cut I would like and the length.They clearly love animals and their work.

Wonderful service, convenient location for Cambridge/Somerville. I was worried about getting my elderly pup groomed, but everything went fine (even though my dog piddled while they were asking me what sort of cut to give her—they were totally unfazed). Would definitely recommend for anyone who needs a dog groomer in this area.

I was very disappointed with the service at Pet Spa. I would not recommend this facility to anyone with a young or anxious dog.I contacted them in advance to ask about their services and they quoted me $80-$100 for a full groom including a haircut. They took some information, but did not ask if it was her first time. As soon as we walked in, they asked if she had been groomed before and only then told us they likely wouldn’t be able to do a full cut on her and it is best for puppies to have a intro groom (perhaps up to 4 intro grooms!). Why was this not said in advance!? For the “puppy spa day” they ended up doing, they charged $85 and she still came out with her full coat of hair. When I expressed my disappointment, the receptionist was condescending in the way she lectured me on how they didn’t cut her coat out of her best interest and that she was anxious. If this is their practice, I don’t understand why this couldn’t have been said at the time of booking.We were desperate to get her a summer cut as she is a doodle and it was 80 degrees outside – glad we went elsewhere!

We LOVED our golden retriever's haircut and amazing smell. It took us a while to find a good groomer for our furbaby. Tahnia Cruz exceeded our expectations!! We have always had a positive experience, except one time with a groomer that couldn't groom our golden and left him somewhat wet. However, the owner, Theresa, called us immediately to apologize and did not hesitant to offer a free service done by her specifically to fix the issue. Theresa is always available for customers and calls back quickly. The staff is all friendly and my Golden is always looking and smelling wonderful! Hard to find an affordable groomer you can trust.

I have a small puppy (<8 lbs) and the groomers were unable to cut her hair because she was uncooperative. This should be expected given that she’s a puppy but the groomers were unable to do anything other than trim her nails and give her a shower - 60$. Looking past the fact that they didn’t give my puppy any treats to calm down, they do not seem to have done much else to help her grooming anxiety. This wouldn’t bother me if it wasn’t for various other reviews about this groomer which indicate that they often avoid catering to dogs personalities in favor of charging 60$ for a bath and reschedule.Edit: I recommend anyone a modicum of compassion for their furry friend to book a grooming at more established and skilled groomers such as Elliot’s house or laundromutt.Edit2: I was able to get my puppy groomed at Laundromutt the VERY NEXT DAY without a single problem/incident so it seems that pet spa truly is inept at dealing with puppies/anxious dogs

Wow. Super impressed! I just moved to the area and my dog is usually quite against visiting the groomers. They were incredibly understanding and did such an amazing job on his haircut. He was so spunky and carefree when I picked him up which NEVER happens after he visits the groomers. I also really appreciate the safety precautions they have in place during COVID. Will definitely keep coming back!

I am very happy with our experience at pet spa I have 2 labradoodles and have been going to pet spa for over 9 years. They have done a fantastic job with both Bailey and Luna who have different coats ! I highly recommend them.

Got a lion’s cut for my DLH…the groomer was communicative, friendly, and did an amazing job! My cat looks so darn cute now and boy does she know it. Getting away with all kinds of kitty mischief 😍

I have struggled to find a groomer in Cambridge for my Goldendoodle. They would be unreliable, rude, and I would feel awful leaving my dog at a place that seemed unwelcoming. I was so happy to find Pet Spa - scheduling is easy and they are very accommodating, and the staff is wonderful! They are so friendly and you can tell they love dogs and they love what they do. Also, sometimes cutting a poodle/ doodle can turn out a little strange, but they really listened to what I wanted and did a GREAT job!

Pet Spa Somerville is wonderful! Have been going to them for about 4 years now and they do such a wonderful job with my dog. They started a special hair cut with him where they leave his tail long... and he is just TOO CUTE. I always get compliments on his cut. Sometimes weeks after his haircut I'll get a comment on saying how good his hair looks and he must have gotten a recent haircut- so his cuts clearly look good and fresh even weeks or sometimes over a month later. Would highly, highly recommend this place.

Our ~65lb lab mix has recently gotten problematic with us trimming/grinding his nails, and we were advised to go to a groomer to handle it while we work on training him because his nails have gotten very long. We made an appointment on the phone along with a general bath and grooming and mentioned that he gets aggravated by his nails but the person making the appointment said they can handle him (we mentioned his size/weight). When we picked him up, AFTER having paid already, the worker here told us that they were unable to cut his nails because he was nipping at their hands, and that he was "not great" with the brush either. At no point did they call us to tell us that his nails weren't done or to discuss any alternatives, we basically paid $55 for a bath. When we got home there was so much fur coming off of him we are doubtful that he even got brushed. We are really disappointed that a professional groomer cant handle a medium sized dog to trim his nails when that was entirely the point of us bringing him there (use a leash or muzzle if he's nipping?) The only plus is that his fur is very soft and clean and smells great. It seems like this place is more oriented towards smaller dogs, and they are not equipped or prepared to go the extra mile to handle lager if they get fussy. Will not be going back.

They are rough with the dogs. Several years ago they injured my very standard gentle poodle on two occasions with no apologies. I recently took my nervous dog there and they wouldn’t give her a break when she asked for it, forcing her to hide and things went downhill from there.

The staff of Pet Spa was very nice, however they took 4 hours to groom my dog... He is a 5 month old puppy, first hair cut.The appointment was at 10AM, and they told me that because he was a puppy they might do part of the job in order to short up the time and that he have a less stressful experience. Of course, I agree with this approach. The surprise was that they took until 2:30PM to finish.I don't think this is OK. I understand that they are very busy with other dogs, but then why make an appointment? Was just too much...I like the place and it is conveniently located close to my home, but I will look for alternatives. I just don't want my dog to be locked in a cage for 4 hours in a very noise place considering hairdryers and other dogs barking. This is just cruelty.

I have been taking my dogs for over 8 years here, and even though I moved to Dedham 5 years ago I still drive the 1hour min to have my boys groomed here. One of my dogs is quite a handful, fear aggression, health issues, the works and this place has been a godsent for us! He loves them there, he is comfortable being there and being handled by their absolutely wonderful staff. I'm so friggin grateful that they exist. There are few places I can leave my boys and not worry at all, and this is one of them. The cuts are always as requested, they come back wonderfully fresh and before covid they were handed back to me with a cute seasonally appropriate handkerchief around their necks. Honestly, I'd give 10 stars if I could. Thank you Megan and staff for being such a fantastic resources!

Great place with quick, reasonably priced service. So glad they're back in business with the COVID-19 reopening plans. They've taken a very cautious approach to social distancing which I appreciate. You drop off and pick up for grooming outside, and pay via credit card swipe outside as well. You can tip either via cash in an envelope or you can Venmo the groomers. Would highly recommend, plz support Pet Spa!

I can't say enough about this place, my dog Torch never wants to leave but he is a very happy dog when I get him home....not to mention he looks great. There's a bit of an odd element to dog grooming in Boston, where most places are too busy to get an appointment, or too awful to want one. Then there's Pet Spa in Somerville, which does a superb job and always finds time to fit you in within a week.

I go there to get my dogs nails trimmed. They are always quick and efficient. They've always done my foster dogs (Paws New England) for free and usually give them a treat at the end.
