The service here is criminally bad.After not receiving a prescription refill for a full week, and unable to reach them by phone, I dragged myself out of bed and went there in person. The pharmacist was no help at all. She said they were all out and never informed me of the possibility to have the prescription transferred. Going to this Walgreens pharmacy can be detrimental to your health. It was to mine.

I was surprised at the disappointing customer service today after being a long time customer. The 2 women at the pharmacy were unprofessional and challenging to communicate with- fortunately the other pharmacist who finally helped me was kind and helpful. I hope that the manager there reads this and considers remediation of the situation. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

The pharmacy here is a joke. Always waiting 20+ minutes every time I pick up a prescription, and they always have only one person doing checkout. The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because the store section has a lot of options. Do not go here for prescriptions.

Stay away from this pharmacy unless you want to lose hours of your life. This place should be either shut down or have adequate staffing put in place.Agree with the review below me. This pharmacy is negatively affecting people and sending them to the emergency room, or in my case, urgent care.The longest lines and the slowest fulfillment that I have ever encountered at a pharmacy. You will routinely wait in line for 30 minutes only to get to the front and realize there is some "issue" with them fulfilling your order (even after being notified through their system that the order was ready).Transfers from another pharmacy (CVS) are a nightmare and they will blame any transfer issues on the other pharmacy. It takes DAYS. They will make you personally call the pharmacy to push the order through, and then claim they haven't received it. Then, because they “haven’t received it”, your order goes to the bottom of their queue!!! Rinse, repeat. A nightmare.Do yourself a favor and use another local pharmacy or the app Capsule that delivers.

There was a Walgreens about a mile from this location that was shut down post Covid. The store shut down was smaller and older but oh so much better. It was better stocked l, staffed well and with a great store manager. This store on Beacon probably looked great on paper to someone making a decision - larger, bigger pharmacy, privacy rooms to conduct vaccines - but it is poorly run. Some cashiers are great while other make it seem like a chore to take your money. Pharmacy is also hit and miss. I have been a loyal Walgreens customer for a long time. For the first time in 20 years I have started to go to CVS.

Should have read all the reviews before scheduling my vaccine with this pharmacy. The wait is always excessive. It took me over an hour wait to get my vaccine. Very different experience at CVS. You will be better off wait longer or take vaccine with a pharmacy that’s further away

The pharmacy is unable to meet the needs of the public. The staff is overwhelmed and has been since Walgreens closed its store in Newton Centre two years ago. It can take hours -- sometimes days -- to fill a simple order and orders placed online are rarely ready for pickup at the time stated by the system.

Clearly massively understaffed in the pharmacy department. It's literally impossible to get a pharmacist on the phone, and there are usually long lines of disgruntled pharmacy customers when I go in. When they first opened, they were great. Not anymore.

I've called this store 6 times to get an update on my prescriptions and you cannot get through to a human person no matter what button you press. You will sit on hold forever and never speak to someone. I've used Walgreens for 30 years but I'm switching because the quality of service is just not the same.

Unfortunately, the pharmacy stuff is very poorly trained and mostly understaffed. It takes them forever to take care of each customer.One time I complained to the person behind the counter for such a slow service, she told me to go somewhere else! Not only undertrained on the computer systems but also rude in customer service. This has been going on for years and nothing had changed, even has gone worse.CVS in Newton Center is a better alternative.

Online orders are not filled while they say they are ready. Pharmacy does not fill when ordering by phone. Long lines to pharmacy. They do not pick up the phone. Even CVS refused to transfer my prescription from them because this store pharmacy cannot be reached. Badly understaffed and not equipped to function!

Trash fire is the only apt description for this pharmacy! If you want to call them, have fun waiting on hold for an hour while being given an automated prompt every 15 seconds letting you know there’s 3 callers ahead of you, only to finally be hung up on. Inside the store is no better with 15 person lines met by a short staff that’s undertrained and overworked. I just waited an hour to pick up a single prescription only to first be given the wrong persons medication and then be told the pharmacy doesn’t even have a record of my prescription, telling me I have to call my doctors office the next day. I’d literally rather get my prescriptions filled by a shady troll living under the nearest abandoned bridge before having anything to do with Walgreens again!!

Terrible. We switched to this store when we moved recently. They are terribly understaffed and what is worse no one at the store or in management cares. Forget calling no one will ever answer. They can’t even perform the most basic tasks like filling a prescription. Even when they tell you that a prescription will be ready it never is. When you talk to the staff there they just shrug their shoulders and look at the long line behind you. I’ve asked to talk to a manager without any success. The customer care is atrocious.

Today I had a Covid vaccine appointment. It took almost 2 hours to finish it. There was a lady with a baby who came at the same time with me for Covid vaccine, and they left her hanging there without addressing her appointment as well for the duration of my visit. Her paperwork was left on the counter and pharmacist didn't even give her a Covid card after giving her a vaccine but disappeared on the back for at least 15 mins . She couldn't wait (she was there for at least 2 hours with a baby) and they didn't care. The most inefficient pharmacy that I have veer been at. Don't go there. CVS is right down the corner.

Horrible pharmacy the worst I've ever experienced in my life . U cannot get threw to the pharmacy I've tried past 2 weeks. First the the automated system always said there are more than 3 callers ahead of you and after 15 to 20 minutes it tells you that there is one caller ahead and once that is said they disconnect you. who the heck needs this grief. First and last time I'll ever deal with them again, I'm switching back over to CVS in West Newton. Shame on them

This pharmacy is a disaster. Whenever I'm in the (long) prescription line, less than 1/3 of the people attempting to pick up their prescriptions here actually walk out with them. They will routinely tell people one thing on the phone or via other form of communication and not have it be the case when you get there in person. I don't blame the employees either, they appear VERY understaffed

I had prescription request completed in the system with doctor’s approval. When I picked up my medicine(four days later), walgreen said they did not receive the prescription. And I need to call the doctor’s office to resend the request. It will take another 2 days and I even do not know whether I will get the medicine or not. I am already out of the medicine now. Do not choose this one as your pharmacy.

If you like waiting for 55 minutes despite having an appointment, then this is the place for you! I signed up for a 5:10 flu vaccine appointment. I arrived and waited in line for 25 minutes at the Rx station, then another 30 minutes on a chair while the person administering shots wasn't even in the room. Apparently the reserved slots mean nothing (the woman at RX counter said they didn't offer reserved slots, which was news to me and 5 other people who had reservations, and the Walgreens website is so proud of its reservation option that you can hardly avoid it). The Walgreens website also said I'd get a store coupon for getting the shot there. But guess what? No coupon given. The whole experience was absolutely ridiculous. Go to CVS or somewhere else if you value your time and/or accountability.

Absolutely horrible handling of pharmacy transition. Because they are short-staffed they do not answer the phone. They will not start an order until you go and ask them too, and the same issues occur each time. Do not use their pharmacy services if you can avoid it. The company is being gutted

Good parking. Only good thing. Pharmacy very slow and disorganized. Went there for COVID vax. Filled out form before and told to fill it out AGAIN once there. Waited more than 30 mins after vax scheduled and there was no body else seemingly waiting for vax. My advice: go somewhere else to get the vax. Literally ANYWHERE else.

Called to ask if they had a blue rhino station at their location. The employees had no clue what I was talking about, i tried explaining the whole concept and idea, they had no clue propane exchange was even a thing. I was passed between 2 employees, was very polite, wished happy holidays and when they thought they had hung up i hear them go on to start making fun of me saying i sounded high. The first lady then went on to make fun of another customer over 9v batteries. Extremely unprofessional!! Called back and asked for a manager who was very nice and offered "points" for the trouble and apologized profusely which was somewhat nice I guess, but I'm not even sure if it was a manager or just one of the previous employees trying to hault a further complaint. I would expect so much more from newton

This a very large location. It has a lot of tall windows which let in a lot of natural sunlight. The staff were friendly. The aisles are wide enough for a couple people and the floor was free of clutter. Very clean location with plenty of parking available in the lot.

Horrible experience at this location. Had my film sent out to get developed here and they lost it! It's been over 4 months and they have no idea where my film went. I asked the manager and he couldn't give me any information at all. Kept telling me the photos were being processed still, when they clearly state it takes 2-3 weeks.

The pharmacists are patient. Accurate work. Pharmacists give flu and shingles shots too. Store has large inventory of useful household items, packaged food, Chobani yogurt and milk.

A nearby Walgreens closed. Now a ton of their customers are coming here with little change in staffing, esp pharmacy., so expect long lines. Otherwise a good store.
