This store has basically everything and a great bakery. I recently had their Cake House Divided and it was exceptional. If you like sweets, I would highly recommend, but probably not the best idea before your beach trip. :-)

I have driven under this Star Market for years and finally went in for the first time. The store is relatively small for this area, but they had everything we were looking for. When you first come in there are escalators to get into the store. It made me glad I was only getting a couple things so I didn't have to worry about wanting to take a cart out to the car.One thing I did notice and appreciate is that they have a local bulletin board on the wall by the escalators. Things like this that connect people and build community always makes me happy!

I had a fantastic experience at Star Market today. I needed helium balloons for my son’s party in a hurry, and to my surprise, the department had already closed. However, the management at Star Market went above and beyond to find someone to assist me, and they saved the day! My son and his friends were overjoyed with the balloons. Moreover, I was impressed by the store’s wide variety of cakes and party supplies. Star Market is definitely my go-to place for all things party-related. Thank you for the outstanding service!

I remember as a kid going to this market with my mother in the blizzard of 78. I passed by and had to pick up a few things. Still a nice clean store, and they even put groceries in your car if you wish. But why is there no self checkout???Waited in crazy stupid slow line. It was clearly not the fault of the cashier but the customers in front of me, but I had 6 items. No self checkout here. Hello, it's not 1978 anymore. Why no self checkout?Of course will use excuse not enough space as market is thr famous market over the mass turnpike but u can fit all kinds of other stuff? Maybe do something for your customers!! Will be long time before I go to this location again.Oh and tell your cashiers that tomatoes are different. Got charged for the more expensive vine tomatoes vs. the on sale tomatoes I actually had. Thanks for the overcharge. Please use the extra $2 towards renovations to the self checkout equipment.

This location has always been my go to market. The shelves are always stocked and I can get what I need. While an old location the store is fairly clean. Occasionally they don't have what I'm looking for but its not a big deal. I wish they didn't get rid of the self service machines though since some of the cashiers are unpleasant.

Over priced and has been for years, I don't know what these people are thinking with so many other choices (MB, TJ, WF) nearby. The most offensive are their in store signs tell you what a great deal you're getting as if most grocery shoppers are clueless. Some of their departments close one half hour before store closing time. Sometimes only one cashier.

Convenient little place right next to the pike; ample parking. But always double check your receipt; I've been over charged several times(sale prices didn't go through) didn't realize until I got home.

The customer service was great. It was the first time to this location and the cashier walked me through picking up my groceries down in the garage. He was so sweet when he asked if I wanted to use that service, he said he felt better that I was using it than carrying 10 bottles of Gatorade downstairs. I said I was getting my vaccine Friday and he told me about his experience to bring some comfort. He was so helpful and kind. The store was clean and we'll stocked.

Mediocre all around-mediocre service, slightly-overpriced, a mid-size selection of items, produce is not always fresh or high quality, but supermarket is a decent, general staple grocery store. The bakery is ok, the deli items are not so great. This is the kind of place you go when you want a standard convenient grocery store, but don’t need anything special or uncommonly specific. It’s open convenient hours as well. Because the store is up a flight of stairs, it offers a free conveyor belt-system that brings your bags to the parking lot so you don’t have to carry your heavy groceries down a flight of stairs and out to your car.

I especially enjoy the clearance areas at the back of the store, in the meat department and in the dairy section. The digital coupons and free items on weekends are also fun. Not quite as pleasurable an environment as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or Publix, but I've come to enjoy shopping here.I returned in December 2021 after not shopping here for a while and was disappointed by the quality of service. Many of the workers were sitting on their phones most of the time and they didn't know how to interact with the customers effectively.

Not bad, not great either. Cramped, but the building is old, the set up different with the parking garage underneath and the old stle conveyerbelt to take your food downstairs for you is a nostalgic plus.

No self check out registers and if it's a little busy with only 1 or 2 cashiers ,it gets frustrating..After waiting in line with one cashier only ,I put everything back and left. Either hire more cashiers or get the self check out terminals

Fair selection but most products are overpriced. Groceries were well-stocked and the employees were helpful, but the check-out process is slow and the high prices are obvious. Better on the inside than it is on the outside. In addition to the helpful employees, the free parking is nice.

There are lots of other grocery stores in the area. Skip this one. Woefully understaffed, a couple of really nice employees but most don't care and many are actively unfriendly. There is almost never an employee at the deli counter, despite people standing there waiting for 5-10 minutes. There are almost never more than 2 registers open, even when it's busy. They sell expired food. Check the dates on everything you buy very carefully. The selection is generally poor and items are frequently out of stock. There is also a bank inside the supermarket and the bank employees walk around harassing customers. I didn't come to the supermarket to open a bank account, thank you very much. Not the worst supermarket I've ever seen, but overall a very poor experience.

Amazing bakery cake. Badia is the one to call! she is an absolute artist with buttercream. Her creative talents are super impressive-it’s a special little place tucked inside Star market and the quality exceeds the typical grocery experience. I called her two days ahead and she made a beautiful sweet 16 party even sweeter. Thank you Badia!

Love this store! During the pandemic,they have done everything to keep customers and employees safe. The isles are wide enough and you don't have to pass people as all isles are 1 way. There is plexiglass at all the check out lanes and customers are courteous.

Great pre-made salads (Crunchy salad has carrots and brocolli in a sweet sauce). The aisles are named after streets in Newton, which is kind of cool. The service is friendly and up-beat. Thanks guys.People in Newton have no patience, no camaraderie, and are eager to be the 'deviant yankees' that gives the dreaded phrase, "mass-hole."

This is an interesting Star Market. It is right off the Mass Pike. It is surprising big considering how small it looks from the outside. It is adjacent to a liquor store called Gordan's. This Star Market carries the same stuff as any other one. They offer a unique delivery service since the store is on the second floor. There are conveyor belts that bring your groceries to the ground floor. You can just drive up and pick it up. Quite an interesting experience.

Acceptable as a grocery story but not to be trusted as a FedEx drop-off site. I will never use this store location as a FedEx drop-off again. I dropped off a package on a Tuesday afternoon after the FedEx pick-up cut-off, so I expected it would be picked up the next day, Wednesday or Thursday at the absolute latest. I called the store on Friday and they had no idea what was going on and FedEx had no record of a pick up, so I filed a complaint with FedEx. Finally the following Monday it was picked up by FedEx. Next time I take an extra few minutes and go to a real FedEx drop-off location. It's not good when the time the package sits in the store for several business days prior to pick-up.

I asked if he checked the price reduction because it appeared full price on the receipt he told me he does not like these kind of questions he took a calculater and push the calculater in to my face in front of everyone. What is rude and arrogant. Never go to star again

Prices are pretty high and their mask policy is beyond lax. Deli and other staff completely maskless, which is obviously not great. If you're worried about COVID this might not be your store.

I've shopped at many Star Markets and consider it an appropriate option for shelf-stable food only--produce goes bad extremely quickly. While the prices are generally lower compared to Whole Foods or other nearby options, one ends up wasting money because of all the food that goes bad.

A mid-century modern building literally perched over the torrent of traffic on the Massachusetts Turnpike. The interior has a mid-1960s appearance, but has modern groceries for sale. Has some unusual new brands and a modest assortment of lesser-known "classic" packaged food brands. Part of the Star Market grocery chain in New England.There is no basement, for obvious reasons, so all backroom stock has to be stored above the highway platform. An interesting architectural exercise in full use of a tight footprint, including an interior loading dock and a small customer parking lot.
