This is the most wonderful little town store with more nostalgia than I thought possible. They have an amazing little candy section with a great assortment of single candies like the penny candy stores from days past, not a penny anymore but many 5-10 cent options . They even carry frozen dinner pies so if you don't feel like trudging through the huge grocery store for dinner. They also bought the building next door and turned it into genny's ice cream, and that is already a family favorite for an after dinner treat. The people are always pleasant and warm. I don't think there is another store I would rather visit.

I had no idea this place was here, but I'm glad to have discovered it. This place has everything under the sun (and then some!) and retains an old-fashioned charm.

One of a dying breed of small town general stores. Our little gem boasts amazing one of a kind items, high end gifts, The Office and Despicable Me gifts, the best coffee and scones in town, local products and 'penny' candy. Awesome customer service, including gift wrap and cute little bags. And, (at least) once a year owner Steve Carrell comes home for a visit.

More of a gift shop than a general store. The candy section is probably the highlight, with lots of fun treats. A decent wine selection and small beer fridge in the back with basic groceries. Very friendly service. You're probably not going to bump into him but you never know...

Adorable little place, really friendly people. We're MASSIVE office fans, so we had to make the trip. Had a few office things and quite a bit from farms around town. The strawberry milk, blueberry jam, and honey sticks were AMAZING! Definitely worth the drive.

Literally was the coolest store I've had the experience of buying from. I am a die hard fan of Steve Carell so I drove here to just buy some gifts. The lady at the counter was amazing. Loved the whole experience. Steve Carell I loved your store and the experience I had in it.

Beautiful collection of unique gifts, cards, jewelry, wines, coffees and treats in a lovely historic building nestled in the quaint Marshfield Hills. Lots of great Office merch, too as it is owned and run by Steve Carell's family. I am never disappointed when I visit and always find a treasure trove of special gifts and housewares. Highly recommend!

Great service! Clean and welcoming experience at the General Store.Visited solely to pick up raw, unfiltered honey from Queen Bee Honey Products (met the beekeeper, Paul, while stocking the shelves) - great timing for me🤓! Bought a 5 lb jar - as this type of honey is a top item in my health regimen. Paul sold me on his expertise and attention to detail. I think I found my honey maker! 🐝🐝🐝

Love this place! A real old fashioned general store with a killer gift selection. Right next to the post office in a well renovated historic building in Marshfield Hills Historic section. Great job Trish and company. Great coffee and muffins in the am. Even has a sundry section, wine and beer. All things local and very well chosen art, jewelry, kids stuff, fun clothing, hats etc. and milk . The way things used to be and still are in cool old New England communities. Oh wait! That's what Marshfield Hills offers as well !

Went here because steve carell owns it and were a big fan of the office. Weirdest vibe it had, looked like a furnished basement, sells postcards, a few kids toys, a few baby clothes, wine, a pantry corner and some jewelry even had a refrigerator?Staff was friendly. Just the weirdest setup ive seen. They sell like a few hats and a coffee cup with the office logos, it honestly looks like a storage facility 🤨 just random stuff but nothing really bad to say about it

A nice place to stop, but not worth a trip. A very small selection of local goods, with the larger inventory looking like generic stuff you would find at Homegoods. Staff were too self involved to greet most visitors and were overheard mocking a few patrons.

Great people and near little store. It wasn't overwhelming. Selection of chachkies we just right and they had some fun stuff. Access was good as my mom needs to use her walker. We highly recommend for a quick stop off for coffee and chachkies.

Cute, warm general store. We enjoyed walking around and seeing their items and the staff was nice too. We picked up a couple of jars of their jam and jelly and they are delicious!

This store is/was my youth, though it looks WAY different than what it used to look like. I love what it has become... awesome food, staples, crafts, beer/wine, The Office paraphernalia (lol). A bit on the history from my perspective... I grew up on Forest St and was a paperboy (70s and 80s)... I would ride my bike down to this store with my best friends and we would buy [penny] candy and soda with my earnings... and then eat our stuff on the "piazza". I say it this way, because the old woman that lived above the store and post office would stagger down (in any weather) to scold us for sitting on the piazza. She would never say anything, she would just come out and point to the sign, "Stay Off the Piazza!"; in retrospect (and I just Googled it) she was probably an Italian woman who owned the building and hated kids hanging out on the step to the front of the store. We were good kids and didnt give her a hard time... we were mostly loud and obnoxious (milk coming out our noses laughing so hard). Anyway, the store used to be very simple... milk, bread, cigarettes, no beer (at least I dont remember that), and other groceries. It was slightly rough and dirty and served as a 'last-stop' shop for any one in Marshfield Hills. One last thing.. as teenagers, we still hung out there after the old woman passed... Steve Tyler used to talk walks passed the store to which we always said "Hey Steve!" and he would say in his scratchy voice, "Hey guys!"

Neat stuff, good coffee, great service and chit-chat. My wife grew up over on Summer street, and its always fun to visit the 'little store up the hill'. Very enjoyable visit.

Cute place. Nothing exciting or specific to the area. They have a couple things from the office. We were disappointed since we were expecting a bigger place, but we were glad we went!

I was disappointed in this store...Im a big fan of Steve Carell...but I was expecting more. I guess I was expecting something like Zebs in New Hampshire. It's a hometown general store that really didnt have what I was looking for, which was some really nice gifts that showcase New England.Place got allot of great reviews...sorry mine isnt one of them.

Get a cup of coffee, browse around and find some cute last-minute gifts or a bottle of wine for that thing you’re going to soon.

So now that 60 minutes has revealed that Steve Carrell and his wife own the store, I hope that nothing changes. Although maybe on the way home from the Cape next summer we will stop and buy some penny candy. Hard to find, sometimes.

On it's own the Marshfield Hills General Store is a cute and quaint little convenience store with a yester-year feel and I mean that in a great way! It has the basic necessities, novelties and a very friendly and accommodating staff. Add in the fact it is owned by actor Steve Carell, of Office and movie fame, and it brings it to a whole other level. There is a dedicated Office Merchandise section with signed merch and countless easter eggs for any Office fan to enjoy! Pizza by Alfredo or Alfredo's Pizza Cafe?
