I will no longer have my cat Yeti be seen here anymore. The lady at the desk that I spoke with this morning was very condescending, she is lucky I didn't ask for her name, I would've put it here in this review. Who ever was working front desk today 02/05/2024 at around 1pm.I had a neuter to be scheduled for tomorrow morning, and literally not ONE soul said anything about pricing estimation for this. She tried to be slick with an attitude and was talking to me as if I lied about not receiving any email or any communication on what the estimation of this neuter would be. I checked my spam folder, my inbox, I did not receive any email with estimation cost for this neuter otherwise I wouldn't be here calling them today to ask how much everything would be. I didn't like her tone or how she handled answering my very much reasonable questions. Im not going to give my money to a hospital that have workers who operate this way. Its very expensive but just because I can't come up with almost $600 out the pocket for a neuter doesn't mean I don't take good care of my cat or I am not deserving of owning one. I do my best to make sure his health is on point and they all know this over there so I don't understand why she gave this condensing tone and attitude towards me.The Doctor there that my cat had was good, I have nothing negative to say about him. But the front desk woman made me no longer want to have my cat seen there anymore because its super unprofessional and I will gladly take my baby somewhere else where I won't be treated this way. I don't do shady business. And don't "honey" me ever again, I am grown woman, speak to me professionally.

The Doctors and staff have been very caring and helpful with Bandit and Velvet. They are both 16 yrs of age and are now experiencing health problems. I appreciate their patience and compassion in working with us for the best plan of action. Many thanks from all of us. 🐾🐾

I just yesterday said goodbye to my beautiful dog of 13 years, Chiky. She was a purebred American mongrel that we got from the animal shelter for my son as a Christmas present in 2009. Malden Animal Hospital was over the top the BEST and Dr. Shinohara was beyond the BEST!! She was everything we could hope for. When Chiky first had problems of vertigo, Dr. Shinohara treated her and we had another four months before a relapse where she did not respond to treatment. She was actually quite excited to go to the vet (she loved it there), and Dr. Shinohara made sure that her last moments were peaceful. They placed blankets on the floor and my baby went to sleep peacefully with her family petting her gently. Nothing but the highest praise. I have to stop now because I am crying, but my deepest thanks go out to Dr. Shinohara and the Malden Animal Hospital.

This place is great. Caring and reliable staff, veterinarians and assistants. Vet actually called me to discuss issues with my pet, which is amazing. They really care about their patients and their owners. Thanks for offering such world class service at a local vet hospital. I appreciate it.

My dog recently had surgery. She had the best care. Everyone there is wonderful, friendly informative. I can’t say enough good about the care and everyone there thank you to all.

My dog normally goes here to the vet. When he had a medical emergency, I called to make an appointment and they said they had no openings but they would the next day if I called before 9:15. I figured we could wait 12 hours, so I did. They did the same exact thing when I called the next day: ā€œWe have nothing today, but if you call tomorrow we could squeeze him in.ā€I don’t enjoy being lied to, especially at the risk of my dog’s health.I should add, we’ve multiple times had to visit them immediately following an annual checkup because they *forgot* to do blood work.

My experience here has not been good and I wasn’t even able to see a vet. First, I call to make an appointment for my new puppy and was told I couldn’t make an appointment until I sent in his medical records by email. I did this and then never heard anything back, I had to call them again even though I was told someone would contact me after emailing them. I was finally able to make an appointment, showed up to the appointment to be told that it’s not in the system. I left work early in order to make the appointment and then told ā€œoh we’re sorry it was a new personā€. I would be okay with that except they rescheduled me and within the hour called me back saying actually we have to reschedule you again. My experience has only led me to believe that they are not professional and to look elsewhere for my puppy.

We feel so lucky to have a great vet so close by. My old pup has her fair share of issues, and every time I have to bring her in, I know she's getting the best care. They're super responsive, the prices are great, and they take such good care of my dog!

Incredibly professional, caring, and knowledgable staff. Having had pets my whole life, I am continually impressed by the care they provide our little chaos panther (cat). The business has the physical charm of a small-town vet, but the care staff I would expect from the most cutting-edge facility. After having used their services for >3 years, I can not recommend them highly enough.

I went in to get a second dose of the Lepto vaccine for my dog and I was told it was too late for the second dose. Malden Animal Hospital made the appointment themselves! What a way to make money! I was told by the technician I wouldn’t have to pay for the visits, then a manager came out and told me I did have to pay for the appointments. Well they just lost a client whose given them a lot of business. If you do choose this hospital re-check and re-verify your own dates!

Made an appt for my dog and they lost her records in less than a week.. Pine Banks got my injured dog in within a day. They has no appts for 3 weeks?? Animal hospital asked me to turf my dog to an emergency vet when it wasn't needed. Pine banks will get my vote! Don't waste your time. The office staff is clueless. BTW. Animal hospital is misleading. A hospital is emergent needs and a 3 week wait.... my dog would have gotten worse. Not impressed.

The vets and vet techs are absolutely amazing at this clinic. I brought my 17year old cat and 11 year old boxer here and ended up having to put them to sleep (it was a few months apart). We saw Dr. Ziegra, and he has to be one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. They really care about your animals. They don't push for tests that will break your wallet, they take so much time evaluating your pet, answering your questions and concerns, they truly comfort you if the news isn't good. Malden Animal Hospital is so awesome I will never bring my pets anywhere else, I also recommend them to anyone with animals! šŸ‘

The empathy and kindness of the vet and vet tech made getting bad news a little easier. We appreciated the friendliness of the people at the front desk....everyone seems to really like animals there! The prices are so reasonable, you go in on time (and if not there is a really good reason) and they do a thorough exam. We are so glad we found them!

If i could give negative stars right now i definitely would! I live a stones throw away from here and my cat was attacked by a huge dog! Brought my cat here in an emergency and after waiting for 20 minutes the front desk person said they would not see my cat without payment, and also payment for a past bill that they dont even know what the bill is for. So they refused to see her. Dont bring this place any business, they're not what they used to be.

Extremely convoluted massive waste of time, energy, and money. Called in April to make a spay appointment and each appointment including the prespay appointment it requires me to call and wait several days for them to get back to me. Sometimes they never do and I have to call multiple times. Now in mid-June they say they don’t do spays anymore after 2 months, 2 trips to the vet, $130, and ~10 phone calls.

They truly care about the animals first and foremost. They're also flexible, good with follow-up, and great with communication. Really down to earth.Importantly they're not shady: they don't suggest useless imaging to inflate fees; they don't insist that you buy everything from them; they were happy to write a just in case prescription rather than insisting on visits every time for a chronic but occasional issue.

I had the worst experience with this vet, I cannot warn future pet owners enough not to go here.I moved to the area in June, and at the time my greyhound had a cast for a fractured paw, so I went to Malden Animal Hospital to follow up. I had a bad experience from the beginning with the office being very disorganized, with visits sometimes taking over an hour with no communication. Then my dog developed a sore under the cast- this is fairly common in greyhounds since they have such thin skin, but instead of explaining that the vet was very accusatory about it with me saying this would not have happened if my dog was fed better (Note: I had rescued him a month before and he was fresh off the track, he was still gaining weight but as I mentioned this is a known issue with greyhounds for vets who have experience with them). The day my dog got his cast off, the vet called to say his sore had gotten worse and if I had called the day before and they had taken the cast off then it would not be an issue, even though I had been in three before and I hadn't noticed any changes since then. He was once again very accusatory and unprofessional, and I left very upset and blaming myself. Due to COVID, I hadn't been able to go in with my dog and considering his next vet said the sore was so bad she could see his full tendon, I'm fully convinced the sore did not develop in those three days and the Malden Animal Hospital vet was not being honest with me about how and when it developed. Also, though this is much less important than the impact on my dog's health, I also felt this vet was trying to get as much money as possible from me. When my dog's cast was removed, the wrap didn't fully cover his sore. I called as soon as I got home, and they recommended I come back the next morning, which I did. Both of these visits were over $100 for wrapping his foot. I tried to point out that it was only fixing an error they had made the day before but was told that was how much a rewrap cost and it was not up for debate. After that experience, I changed to a vet that was recommended by a greyhound group. It has taken from July until now for the sore to heal, since it had gotten so bad, but I'm happy to say he's finally doing much better. My experience with the new vet has been great, she's been communicative and knowledgeable, and clearly experienced with greyhounds. I hate to think what would have happened to my dog's foot by now had I not changed vets.

We've been bringing our dogs and cats here for 15 years. Until the last year or so, I would have given them 5+ stars. Drs. Hamburg and Ziegra have always been absolutely wonderful, they take time to explain in great detail any procedure or illness that we've dealt with, they think outside the box, work within your budget, and I truly feel like our pets' lives have been enhanced by their care.However. The past year or so, I have noticed that the newer staff andvets they have hired have not had the same level of attention or care. I have been treated rudely on several occasions by one of their vets - in one instance, they made a mistake in their records by confusing our 2 dogs (same breed, but different ages and different health concerns). When I tried to correct her, I was snapped at and she basically tried to argue with me over which dog they saw, despite the fact that the receptionist had already acknowledged that the mistake was on their end. I attempted to schedule a nail trim for our VERY nervous dog, and she suggested that it may be better to just not trim his nails if he was going to need to be sedated for it, which contradicts all veterinary advice I've ever heard, and I felt like she just didn't want to be bothered working with a difficult dog. She grudgingly offered a different combination of sedatives, but her attitude was very off-putting.In another instance, we brought our dog in because he had been limping and we noted that he had a corn, but we were unsure if the corn was causing the limp or if something more serious was going on. One of the newer vets saw him and did not even look at the corn, she immediately said it was either a cruciate tear in his knee or osteosarcoma (bone cancer). We were devastated and immediately scheduled a follow-up visit to xray his knee the next day. We saw a different but also new vet, who manipulated his knee and looked at the corn...and immediately said his knee was fine and it was clearly either the corn or a broken toe. Of course, we asked why on earth the first vet didn't look at the corn, and why she would have thought it was his knee, and the 2nd vet just shrugged and said it may have presented differently the first day. That's understandable, but we lost all confidence in the practice after that due to her abrupt and dismissive attitude and her lack of willingness to even look at his foot, even after we told her that he had an active corn. We're sad to leave after being clients for so long, but I feel like they are forcing our hand.

We've been taking our dog here for almost three years. The staff is incredibly kind and really care about the animals. When our dog managed to get a chicken carcass out of the garbage they advised us on the best course of action- and called to follow up several times to make sure she was still doing well. There is a small driveway in case you need to park close to the door; in addition, there are a number of close by side streets with unrestricted parking.

Have always had great experience with Malden animal hospital. The staff and doctors are top notch, and truly care about your pet. They talk through everything, explain options and costs, and even approach care as if the pet was theirs. I always felt safe and confident with them and would and have recommend them to anyone in the area.

The doctors were awesome. I fully trusted them in taking good care of my cat.. the only gripe is very congested parking area other than that it’s all 5 stars for them. Too bad I moved further away from these fine folks

Saw Dr. Ziegra for my cat’s pupil size issue and he was very patient, and prescribed antibiotics immediately, then contacted a few eye doctor for my cat immediately and called me for the most recent appointment he got for me in another hospital. I sent me cat right away and got quick diagnosis and the specific medications for treatment, and my cat improved immediately and fully recovered now. Service and price both very good.

Wonderful experience! Went there for and international health certificate. The vet was wonderful and discussed my older dog’s health and ways to help her age well. She’s quite spry and healthy now and I’d like to help her stay that way.

I was new to the area and googled animal hospitals and they came up and had great reveiws and im glad i did! The staff is so sweet and the doctors are awesome and caring and definitely make you feel a one on one even with their busy schedule and not just another person who walks through the door. I really appreciate everyone at this animal hospital they have a great team! They also have a kitty that greets you occasionally, a fluffy one, if i can remember correctly his name is charles really i love it there! Also shout out to dr.z he is very patient and kind especially as an overly worried furr baby mommy!!

I have had several vets over the years and I found Malden Animal Hospital is the best. The employees are so nice and even if they are busy they always find time to talk. The doctors are very nice and you can have confidence with the answers to your questions. Remember the animals comes first.

We love Malden Animal Hospital! We have two nervous rescues, and the staff always makes them feel welcome, and takes the time to answer any and all questions we have. Even during Covid when their office was closed, Dr. Ziegra was available to answer questions we had when we ran into issues with our dogs. I just moved, but will continue to go here!

This was my go to vet for over 30 years. We would board out dogs there, always satisfied. The last two times I had to deal with them, whomever answered the phone wouldn’t ā€˜hear’ what I was saying. Very frustrated. Tried one more time, and my call was handled very unprofessionally. Had to finally leave.

My dog "Scooby," tested positive for Lyme Disease at our yearly "low cost shot clinic," and the kind staff were able to get me in to see "Dr.Z," that very same day! I am the type of person that needs to be handled "with kid gloves," because I have anxiety issues, so I was quite upset and overwhelmed when I arrived there. "Dr.Z," really took the time to explain everything to me, and answered all of my questions. He did not want to do anything that he felt was unnecessary just to make a buck, which most other vets do. I really appreciated that. He was very calming, caring, understanding, and respectful of our own individual needs (Scooby's and mine!). The staff were also extremely helpful and really nice! Words cannot express my gratitude for the way we were treated throughout this whole process. Thank you!
