To begin, I didn't see a single sign regarding prosecution for stealing, so either they removed them or a previous reviewer lied.Okay, so Family Pet & Supply is far from your one stop pet shop, but they do a good job working with what they have. I noticed an awful lot of pet cages set up with no actual pets for sale. Perhaps they've had good sales recently. The place itself is a tad bit disarray but far from "a dump." The aisles are easy to walk down and for the most part seem pretty organized. The fish area was cool, plenty of salt water fishies for sale. The prices were moderate, not high. The three employees who worked there all seemed just friendly enough to where you don't feel smothered but you know you can get friendly advice at any time.

i hate that i even have to give them 1 star. i used to go to this store all the time, we vacation a few miles away and every time we are around there i always go in and spend atleast $50. i love supporting local stores, and family owned stores. i love seeing them thrive and do well. however, after going in to "family" pet store yesterday, i will never go again and i will be sure to tell anyone else to never go there again. especially all the people in my family that go there with me because we are all animal loves and get our things we need there while on vacation.i visited yesterday and i was appalled at how i was treated by the staff that was there. 2 young girls and an older woman, first when i went in i had my 2 sons with me, they are 4 and 5 and well behaved. the girl asked me to keep them both within arms reach, which they already were. then the older woman followed us around the store watching to make sure i kept them close to me. as did the younger girl there as well.also, as you walk around the store you will notice about 15 signs talking about stealing, shoplifting and prosecuting. seriously? in their over priced pet store? this place is such a dump. and the people working their really need a life. i hope no one shops there again and i would love to see them out of business soon! they treat everyone like a robber. sickening

This store has been around for a long time, its one of the last few places that I feel are deeply ingrained in Wareham. The store is under new ownership now, and I'm happy to see them taking on the reigns of a place that is apart of my childhood. My boyfriend and I always get crickets here for our reptile as well as treats and food for our dog. The people are knowledgeable on their pets. They welcome my dog in the store with open arms and are nice people looking to help their customers with whatever they can. I've never had an issue with shopping here. When it comes to food for reptiles I prefer this place over a place like Petco. Anytime I come in the pets in the store look healthy and the store is clean.

The absolute worst customer service. I bought 88 crickets that were all dead within less than 24 hours. I brought my cricket keeper in to show them and they said well sorry we can't do anything about it because our crickets are all alive. Did offer to replace them it anything. I hate this place! They have the same poor animals all the time that are hardly taken care off. I don't know how this place is open...... I buy that many crickets from Petco ( every other day) which is a way more cleaner and welcoming store and use the same critter tank!!!😂😂😂😂 . If I was aggressive and I "assaulted you" you should have called the police that day. This place and the people that own it are an absolute joke. I will make your company known for the false allegations and the poor company you run.

A little disappointed. Hadn't been in for a while and when I walked in it had an odor and there were fly's over by the small pet area. The carpeting is pretty old stained and dirty. In all fairness, the place is old but it shouldn't stink and they are in need of a serious makeover. The animals seemed to be taken care of and they do take in rescue animals which is a good thing. Didn't feel comfortable buying my rabbit his food there. Wasn't sure how long the stuff had sitting around for. They have been around for quite a while so I hope they make some necessary changes. Till then I'll go elsewhere.

I love Family Pet, I go there at least once a week to get supplies for my 3 dogs. The staff is friendly & very helpful. I am writing this review because I went their google plus page looking for their hours and saw the horrible 1 star review from another customer. I can't believe that the staff at family pet would try to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Sometimes vacation families with kids amped up on ice cream go in there and stick their fingers into the ferret cages. Maybe the owner was just trying to make sure no animals were harassed and no kid fingers were nibbled. Nothing but positive from this reviewer, though :)

The past few times I have bought fish from here, they died in 1-2 days and left this white fungus on the bottom of the tank. When I bought things from Petco, this never happened. When I went in to buy fish food I wanted a new fish but dead fish were all over the tanks. One tank had about 20 floating at the top. When i had complained about the fish dying the workers were nothing but rude to me. Defiantly not buying from here again.

I come here frequently to buy crickets for our dragon. The staff is ALWAYS kind and respectful. I find it sad that some people try to scam small businesses and destroy them with hate filled reviews. I strongly support this store and those who run it.

The best pet store around hands down. Been going there for years extremely helpful , friendly and polite . I will not go anywhere else for pet food . They know what i want as soon as i walk in the door. I Highly suggestthis location for long time or new pet owners.

This is by far the worst pet store I have ever shopped at and I don’t recommend that anyone shops there, there costumer service is the worst I have ever seen, me and my boyfriend came to there to buy crickets but this sailsgirl had the audacity to kick us out due to a sail that was with his mom and had nothing to do with us and I think that is very unfair. So I will recommend a even better place to go petco at wareham crossing its 100 times better with the best costumer service and they treat there animals the right way ,unlike the pet store I tried to shop at. They had cockroaches for 99 cents and they aren’t even that big, they should be the same price as the crickets 12 cents. This pet shop is the nastiest, most uncared for store I have ever seen so I highly recommend that no body should shop here and they should fire the sails girl that was so rude, negative and unpleasant person to me and my boyfriend and his mom. And his mom never assalted the sails girl.That sails girl is the worst lier and extremely disrespectful.May.30 ,2018

I love family pet and encourage anyone other than, Carley Nickerson, to shop there! We have 6 chickens, multiple rabbits, numerous salt water tanks, etc.. and they always are helpful and friendly!PS, If you weren't stealing why do you care about the signage for prosecution.

The staff will steer you in the right direction even if it means losing a sale . They have your pets best interest in mind and not just making a dollar. I hope they are able to stick around because usually this economy punishes honest folks like this.So please go there if you need something help keep them in business. I would hate to see them go under especially because they are so honest Walmart flea powders are dangerous JUNK they kill your cat not the fleas I put a flea directly in a sealed container of their flea powder .the flea lived for 3 days & I think it only died due to suffocation & not the powder.Most if not all of Walmart's flea stuff does not work they will harm you cat or dog so do not use them. The wife and I even tried the Advantix clone products they sell . You apply it the same way as Advantix or Front-line Except this stuff never worked 2 weeks later still had a ton of fleas We tried their cheap foggers " Walmart's that is" & nothing fleas were all over my white socks 10 second in the door . However the fogger did make me gasp for air then puke 5 hours after we used it I couldn't believe how bad it affected me.P.S.To. Carley Nickerson, why is it, every review you have written all have 1 star & all involve something about your kidsHas it ever crossed your mind perhaps the problem could be your kids or even you yourself?? I bet that thought hasn't even entered your mind huh?After all Carley Nickerson, you did say one store even told you to "grab your kids & things and do not ever come back" Your own words!!! To be honest Carley Nickerson I think you are a thief and perhaps Family Pet was onto you,. Ive been to family pet on many occasions & they have always been very professional and courteous to my wife and myself Just my 2¢

We've been going there for a couple years now and the staff is ALWAYS helpful and friendly. I actually went there to get dog food a few weeks ago,not realizing they were about to close, I pulled in and saw that they were just about to lock up and they opened the door and asked me if I was there to get dog food, which I was and they let me in to purchase it, which they didn't have to do. So in my eyes they went above and beyond when they didn't have to ans with that they have a customer for life.

Good service, good prices, when order special items it comes in when they say it would. Also when I can't make it on time before they close all I do is call and the will stay open unit I arrive. Always have good luck with anything I purchase from there.

"Absolutely worst pet store for anybody looking to buy actual pets,the only thing their good for is feeder pets and even at that its horrible for what its for,my mother,my girlfriend,and I all went here,now before they say anything neither me,my mom,or my girlfriend is banned yet they still accuse me for something that not only didnt happen but its between my mom,she even parked on the other property,they didnt even bother to talk to me at first,and the little white* =)girl ran to the back calling for her little boyfriend/brother because shes that scared of my mom infact everyone in that store is scared of her,they even threatened to call the police on me and my girlfriend,this store also looks like the inside of a 1800 barn and bar, and if you have the integrity to comment back non of this is infactual and im 100% honest on my word,please for the sake of your pet dont shop here" -Myles Charles 5-30-18 eXtRa"i guess im a scammer aswell,and i believe i have the freedom of speech of ANYTHING as long as it isnt a threat because you know rights and everything,i cant wait for your store to close❤"
