We have stayed a few times now and the Chatham Bars Inn does not disappoint. We have stayed in a few different style rooms and locations on the campus, and they all offer the same superb quality. The rooms are bright, clean and open with many eases of access options within them (location, coffee maker, various plug locations for chargers, bathroom accessories, etc.). The beds are very comfortable and will not ruin your night of sleep! The views from the beach house rooms are breathtaking and offer the most beautiful sunrise each morning (for the early risers). The services offered at the pool are great and there are plenty of towels and seats. The lobby is clean and has a ton of helpful staff. The restaurants are great and offer a decent selection of food, and the chef even offered to change the taste of the mac and cheese for our youngest one at our last visit.Room service is friendly and fast, and the food is good.Valet is a great feature and there is a good parking lot to self-park if you'd like (a little bit of a walk though). All in all, it is a must stay and plenty of fun and offerings year-round.

This place is top notch in every way, from the minute we pulled in,everyone was accommodating, the valet, the front desk and the wait staff were more than eager to make you feel very welcome with a huge smile. We stayed in one of the ocean view cottage suits and the view is breathtaking, the attention to every detail in this accommodation is unbelievable,by far the best I’ve ever seen, the bed,the fireplace, the bathroom, everything was just in a high class by itself.Overall I would give it five stars since it’s the highest I can rate it,and the complimentary ride that they give you around in one of their Lexus fleet cars was just the icing on the cake. This is a world class luxury right here on Cape Cod.

My wife and spent the weekend for a “babymoon.” She’s been going to the cape forever and always wanted to stay here. We booked an ocean view room and she reserved some time at the spa.The goal of the trip was to relax and eat good food. The second part never really happened. We were planning on eating at Sacred Cod the first night and Stars the next. On the first night my wife ordered Cod and I ordered scallops. After a few bites of my own lukewarm scallops I noticed that my wife’s cod was severely undercooked, basically raw. We brought it the staffs attention and at first she just took the plate and that was it.Afterwards the manager came and apologized, and the food was comped, which was fine but didn’t really make up for the fact that they fed my pregnant wife undercooked fish. Understandably my wife was pretty freaked out, and the incident basically ruined our night and caused a lot of anxiety for the next few days while we waited to see if she got food poisoning.Having not really eaten we were still hungry so we ordered room service for pizza, some bread, and a slice of cheesecake. We figured they would be safe options. Again, the food was not good. The pizza was underbaked, and whatever berry mix they put on the cheesecake also wasn’t good. Maybe it’s an off-season thing? The final incident - There are Nespressos in the rooms and we wanted to make after-lunch coffees. My wife called and asked someone to bring up a couple of pods and mugs. 2hrs went by. She called again. Another 45min went by. I went down to the front desk and got them myself. At this point it was too late to even drink and we just wanted them for the next day. The woman at the front desk said they’d bring mugs with turndown. When the maid arrived for turndown she did not bring the mugs, and only after we asked where they were did she go and get them.Everything else was mostly fine. Sure the rooms are a bit small and outdated but the views make up for it. The grounds and beach are beautiful, and the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, for a hotel that has multiple signs noting its status as “one of the verified best hotels in the world” we left disappointed.I had no expectations going in, but I asked my wife if she wanted to try going back when the Cape is in season, because maybe it was just the off-season, and she said no - so that tells you how disappointing the experience was for someone who had always wanted to stay here.Food & drinks: Very disappointing.

We met friends last night at Chatham Bars Inn to have dinner at the Sacred Cod. We were told that no reservations were accepted and arrived at 5:15 and were prepared to wait. We were told the wait was one hour. We grabbed some drinks and sat in the lobby. We checked in with the hostess about 45 min into our wait and was told by the hostess that they gave our table to a party who walked in and insisted on being seated immediately. During this entire time there was an empty table for four. After checking in again at one hour and 15 min we were told that we needed to wait a bit longer. We asked about the empty table and was told that it was reserved for an important person. Keep in mind they do NOT take reservations. They were understaffed for the busy holiday weekend. We understand this is an ongoing issue but to be treated the way we were has resulted in us not ever wanting to go back. Do better…#chathambarsinnFood & drinks: Overpriced with awful service

I spent this past weekend staying two nights at this luxury resort. We had two ocean side cottages. They each had a gaslit fireplace and two flat screen TV's. They were cozy and comfortable rooms. We spent Friday night at the tavern in the main resort. The drinks and burgers were delicious! Even though the weather was crummy, we enjoyed the view, coffee drinks by the fire in the main house and a movie in our room. Saturday night we went to a local restaurant called Delmar. The resort again dropped us at the restaurant and picked us up to bring us back after dinner! The other bonuses were the great showers and the beds felt like we were sleeping on clouds!! So incredibly comfortable!! Whether we were at the front desk, having turn down service or getting ice delivered we were greeted with a smile and kindness! What an incredible experience! We highly recommend this slice of life in Chatham, Massachusetts 😁❤️

An amazingly beautiful location. The staff and the food were wonderful! We didn’t have time to wander through town but loved that it was so close and it looked like fun.Rooms: Our room was luxurious. The beds and views were lovely.Nearby activities: An easy walk to town, wish we’d had more time to explore.Food & drinks: We had a great dinner and breakfast! I mean really good!

My first time discovering CBI was absolutely a dream. The location is beautiful. The service was great, from front desk, valet, food and beverage, and housekeeping. The ladies at the spa were also great! We stayed in the White Cap with a living room space, 2 fire places, and large bathroom with double sinks and large bathtub. We dined at the Sacred Cod for lunch and cocktails. We dined at Stars for breakfast and dinner, we also did in room dining twice. It was all so perfect. I totally recommend this place for a romantic get away or even a girls trip! I can’t wait to come back with warmer weather and be poolside! Thank you to ALL CBI staff. Special thanks to, Chef Ben, our AM server, Orasis, and the director of F&B for allowing us to feel at home! Totally 5 star property and hospitality experience to remember :)

Didn't stay here but did have lunch. We were disappointed they took their famous French Onion soup off their menu. Food is always great!Food & drinks: Had a great Margherita! Food is delicious!Noteworthy details: Went in the library after lunch and sat by the fire. My daughter played a couple of songs on the piano. All in all, very relaxing.

One of the best hotels we’ve visited in the US. The services, including room service, in-room dining, and general staff attitude are on great European level (speaking from experience). We’ve got a spa room for entire weekend and had a great time. We will certainly return here during summer months.

Just got back from a birthday getaway trip and have nothing but great things to say about our stay at the Inn. Everything from the valet to front desk, room, food, decor and service were top notch. We stayed in Beach Cottage 371 which had incredible views of the ocean and was well appointed. Loved the complimentary car service into town. Make sure to call weeks in advance for a spa appt. The charm of CBI during the holidays is not to be missed.

Our anniversary stay at Chatham Bars Inn (CBI) was fantastic from start to finish, thanks to the attentive staff. Enton provided excellent food recommendations with warmth and kindness. Jeff swiftly assisted with our Nespresso machine and even brought extra pods for my coffee obsession. Jim and Laya at the bar surprised us with anniversary truffles, while Phillip from room service was attentive and helpful. The exceptional customer service truly made our celebration unforgettable. Highly recommend CBI for a lovely and memorable getaway.

Chatham Bars is an excellent resort in a great location with beach access and lots to do. Staff was very helpful and the view from the restaurant outside deck is superb, overlooking the water. The only negative was that we paid $4,510 for two nights, thinking that this rate was for a room with a water view; however, upon arrival we were told that we were going to be in spa room toward the back of the property, which was very spacious and well equipped, including a steam room and hot tub and a nice pool for the rooms in that area of the resort. It was a short walk to the restaurant and beach, but just without the great view that we expected.Safety: a very safe area, day and nightWalkability: We drove to downtown, but it is a walkable distance, maybe 12-15 minutes.Food & drinks: multiple outside bars with friendly bartenders and waitresses

Chatham Bars is a gracious old inn overlooking the water in Chatham. We really enjoyed our time here. Serrvice is excellent, location amazing and the food is top notch. The property is pretty expansive, so your room may be in the main inn or it may be in one of their houses overlooking the water. We stayed in room 432 and our only minor issue was the bathroom. There is absolutely no bathroom shelf space to put anything on. Toiletries, toothbrushes, razors and grooming all have to be kept in your bag on the floor. The tile in the tub was also chipping and popping up in places. All those are minor complaints, but when you're spending over $800 an evening you expect close to perfect. None the less it is an amazing location and an amazing property.

The Chatham Bars Inn is the epitome of luxury in a cozy Cape Cod way - the entire staff is eager to please and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The food at Sacred Cod is inventive and always well executed and changes seasonally. Rooms are well appointed, right down to a BOSE radio to wake you in the morning. The grounds, in particular, are impressive and beautifully arranged - again, with seasonal touches. If you happen to venture there in December their festive holiday decorations are not to be missed! An overnight stay will leave you wanting more!

Just stopped by with family to have a cocktail and clam chowder on the sandy area below deck bar. Had the kids so it was better to be where we were. Great environment, chowder was excellent, our waitress Jenny was outstanding. Kids could play and walk to beach area as well. Some outdoor music would have been nice. Great place to relax with friends and family but bring your $$ as nothing is inexpensive here. Still a must experience if you visit area.

A somewhat disappointing trip. I have been coming here for years since I was a child and this last trip was pretty disappointing for us.While our room was very clean and very comfortable, the walls are paper thin. We could hear people sitting in the room next to us talking and laughing. They weren't being excessively loud. Just having a nice conversation (which we could hear almost every word to). This made us feel like we had zero privacy. We got there at 12:30 and was told our room would be put in as a priority for the cleaning crew because we were preferred members and had arrived early in hopes that the room could be ready earlier. I completely understand that there are no guarantees, but our room wasn't ready until 30 minutes past the guarantee check in time of 4:00. When I brought this to the attention of the manager he was very condescending and said housekeeping called the room in clean at 4:01 and we were handed our keys at 4:11. This was not the case. They called us at 4:20 to come pick up the keys and we did not get into our room til 4:30.I was only offered a $100 credit from the pompous manager for the next time we come though we doubt will come again. For $1400 a night I would expect top level service and this just wasn't it.I do have to say our waiter and valet were phenomenal. Luke our valet went above and beyond when we arrived to make us feel welcomed and treated us the way you would expect from a luxury hotel.

My wife and I had dinner at the Sacred Cod which is a local favorite of ours and while the food and service was excellent, the restaurant was crowded, noisy, and full of children who didn't want to be there and parents who were not paying attention.Given the number of families that vacation at Chatham Bars, it would be best to reserve a section of the restaurant for families and perhaps to reserve some of the tables in the bar area for adults. This would make for a more relaxing and more enjoyable dining experience for all.

We had an amazing weekend getaway here, the customer service is absolute top notch and everyone we came in contact with went above and beyond. Being in the customer service industry myself I was extremely impressed! The location can’t be beat and it’s only a few minutes walk into town. The only negative was our room Size- we stayed in the Main Inn, the room was super clean but very tiny for almost $800 a night we were expecting a little more spacious room..but we know for next time.We will certainly be returning!

Unfortunately, we are sorry to say that we are extremely disappointed with the Chatham Bars Inn. My wife and I brought our family to Cape Cod from NJ, with the highlight of the weekend being dinner at the CBI. My wife made reservations for Sunday night, November 5th, for 6 people at Stars restaurant 2 weeks prior. She spoke with a representative of the hotel and our reservation was confirmed. After not hearing from the CBI via email or phone 1-2 days prior to confirm, we thought this was odd and called to confirm our reservation. Upon finally getting someone to answer the phone, we were told that Stars restaurant was closed and they had no record of our reservation. We had our parents dressed up, in the car, eager to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. We were offered no recourse or explanation as to why the restaurant was closed or the fact that our reservation was completely lost. We asked if the restaurant was now closed for the season and we were told “no, just tonight”. I explained that we were celebrating a special occasion and brought our family all the way from NJ, with possibilities of hosting my younger sister’s wedding at CBI in 2024. Honestly, our entire trip to the cape was based off of our dinner at CBI, after a wonderful experience last year. My wife and I loved it so much we wanted to introduce our whole family, unfortunately we were unable. Sad to say, I suppose we won’t return :(Noteworthy details: Unfortunately, we are sorry to say that we are extremely disappointed with the Chatham Bars Inn. Long a fan of this historic inn, I was able to stop by there with my family this weekend for some snacks and cocktails at the Beach House Grill and was amazed with the new menu items and service! Val at the bar was very responsive, courteous, and attentive to us even when there were three rows of patrons waiting for their drinks and dishes due to it being the nicest day of the year. Can't recommend the the lobster nachos enough, we even took them home and enjoyed the leftovers a few hours later! If you're looking for an authentic Cape Cod experience that celebrates the rich history of Chatham and the outer cape, this is where you should be coming every season. Gary and his team continue to hit it out of the park with this wonderful property, we'll be regulars!

This place is a total scam. Do not go there. The prices for everything are overrated and the staff is very rude. The food is too basic for how expensive it is. The rooms are old and dirty and don’t have anything special. They are not 5-star at all even they pretend this. The managers treat their employees very poorly like slaves and they pay them the minimum wage when they expect a 5-star service.
