So disappointing. I haven't been to this Bruegger's in a while, but I used to go all the time. (I have an original Bruegger's refill coffee mug from 40 years ago!) Service was poor. Employee making the bagels greeted me and told me to let me know when we were ready to order. (There was no line.) I was helping my child decide what bagel to order when the employee at the register informed us we HAD to place our order there and NOT with the person who had just offered to help us. (No signage of the change in 40 years of company practice.) Rude.My bagel was made incorrectly. (I asked for a simple adjustment - split and spread the cream cheese on both (inner) sides of the bagel before putting it together. Was told this couldn't be done. Really?! Folks, you've been making my bagels for me this way for 40 years!) No chai. No tea of any kind. No idea how much the coffee was as no price list. (Only a small sign for the cold drinks.) Employee at register less than helpful.Add to this there is still very little seating. (Many of the seats/tables were removed during Covid. Now they are advertising as "take-out only" yet there is still some seating.) Overall, very uninviting, dark, dirty, and cold. One star because the bagel was OK. I'm really surprised this place is still in business. I won't be back. Sad.

I’ve gone to this place probably 3 or 4 times since coming to UMass, and each visit I am increasingly disappointed. This place is glorified Dunkin. Maybe even worse. Couldn’t be more painfully obvious that they throw their ingredients in a microwave and nuke it until it’s soggy and rubbery. I’d rather throw 8 dollars in the trash than ever go here again. Absolute shameful food and quality.

Went back to Bruegger's bagels after a year of being gone a family tradition in our home and was thoroughly disappointed. Not only had the quality of the service gone down but the quality of their wants delicious bagels had as well. They gave us everything bagels with no seasoning and pumpernickel bagels that had holes in the sides of them. Also there was an up charge for majority of the bagels that used to be included with the dozen. The people behind the counter were very attentive and did not provide good service. They were rude, talking amongst themselves and not even listening to their clientele. Our family will now be switching to Tandem Bagel. The service and QUALITY of bagel we received today, after 25 years of loyalty to this company, was a huge disappointment !

I love bagels and this place is FOR BAGEL lovers..or so it claims. It is Sunday 10 am on March 17th.Our first time at this famous chain and as we entered the shop, we right away approached the cashier to place our order. The cashier that had a tag of "shift supervisor" acknowledged us, waited for us to start ordering and after I had already said Hi, asked him about his day and then said my order outloud , he (with a smirk on his face) pointed in the direction of the kitchen staff and said "yeah, you'll need to order it there first!" (I think he was getting off on the fact that we were bran new customers and didnt know "their system")Fine, he is basking in his "bagel supervising" role , didnt even let that bother us, went to see young/ very friendly kitchen staff to place our order. We ordered 3 different bagels, asked for all toasted w/ plain cream cheese. Now, when you have a bad experience from just walking through the door of the shop you've never been to before, you seem to just not even care about what happens next, you want to pay for food or services and just leave to never return. So we simply discussed our plans for that morning while waiting on the bagels. Order was completed, grabbed it, paid for it with desire to never come here again. Now, who eats bagels without TOASTING them? If you do, you're an animal! We specifically asked for TOASTED, and apparantly , warming the exterior part of the bagel equals to toasting them. Sad !One and only good thing about this place, they didn't skimp on cream cheese, but when you have a soft bagel it really doesnt matter how much cream cheese you might schmear on that! Really, it doesnt!Lesson learned- if you get "great" customer service from the "shift supervisor" the moment you walk in- you should turn around and leave!Additionally, the kitchen staff complained the entire time about the big order they had just received for 38 bagels and how "tiring and "great"" it was.Amherst is a college town, i dont see why this bagel shop shouldn't go to college to better their customer service skills. Bruegger's Bagels, please start with your "shift supervisor".

The bagels are good, but this location has an unwelcoming atmosphere with no indoor dining. When I asked an employee where the tables were (thinking they may be renovating), she replied “in the trash”. I asked if they were planning to get new ones and was told no and that they no longer offer indoor dining following an unspecified incident at another location with a customer. If you’re looking for a great bagel experience that includes the ability to sit down indoors or outdoors, I highly recommend Tandem Bagel Company in Hadley.

Delicious! So many different flavors and styles here. This was my first time trying the food at Bruegger's Bagels. I had tasted the Sriracha Honey Sunrise and the Smoked Salmon Signature. The staff was very accommodating to allow me to swap the peppered bacon on the first sandwhich with chicken sausage. The sriracha sandwhich was a bit greasy, so I wish they had double wrapped it since it was put in the same bag as the other sandwhich. There is currently no dine-in, but delivery is available with doordash. Everybody wears masks at this location, and social distancing is enforced. There is no sanitization between customers though.

There are no better bagels this part of the state, the service, however, is often lackluster, desultory. The lack of seating and stand-offish service this long after the pandemic is frustrating and I have stopped going regularly. It's like they don't want customers anymore.

Bruegger's is a lovely little spot to grab a bagel or coffee, located conveniently in downtown Amherst. Service is always stellar, food is great, fresh & hot. Coffee is excellent, add your own cream or milk & sugar. They also have tasty breakfast sandwiches, including pastrami! Inside is clean too. Always a pleasant experience here!

They took out all the tables and chairs. The person working was bad at cutting the Bagel and the Bagel was chewy. They used to be better.

Depressed teens working here day and night until 1pm. Awful feng shui. Good bagels

I really appreciate the effort they have taken to keep their customers and workers safe during Covid. It is a one way, there is a blockade to prevent you from getting close to the workers. There is a separate exit.I love the variety in bagels and cream cheese, and the food is delicious. My favorite is their salt bagels! The cinnamon sugar bagel is also divine.I've also seen their bagels donated to local groups, which I appreciate. The coffee is also reasonably priced, with the iced coffee on par with the hot coffee, an important staple in New England!

I was there this last Easter Sunday and it was chaotic and I couldn't figure out where the line was, and I asked this young woman with two-tone hair, "Do I order here?" And was told, "No, the line is back there. You just cut in front of ALL of these people." I was sort of taken aback, and I waited until I got to the front of the line, and told her I thought that was uncalled for, talking to me as if I cut the line on purpose, and she said curtly, "Well, that's not the way I meant it." I walked out without ordering and never went back.

I was amazed by my experience. The workers there were disgusting, unprofessional, inappropriate, and inattentive. The place was filthy.I walked into the store and no one acknowledged my presence. After I ordered, I waited forever to pay at the cashier. Then, the only worker over the counter walked away and two kids came in to make my sandwich. While customers were asked to wear masks, the kids weren’t wearing one. After tossing my bagel in the oven, they walked to the side of the store chatting with their friends and playing with their phones, with the gloves on. With the same dirty gloves, they continued to make my bagel. WHILE they were making my bagel, another kid arrived and was showing them stuff on his phone over the counter and was talking loudly to each other. When I did receive my order after 15 minutes, items were missing.I recommend Tandem Bagel in Hadley- much better food and professional staff.Bruegger’s- I know it’s hard to find workers now days. But the ppl do have in there are rubbish.

pretty good bagels and decent prices. they are one of the few places that still actually boil their bagels. a plus or minus depending on how you look at it is they're not too big. so you don't feel like you're bursting after eating for example a cheese bagel. but sometimes I find myself needing two.....

I actually really like Bruegger's Bagels. Great selections of bagels to choose from, I really like their Jalapeno pepper Bagel. Some of the employees are nice, but sometimes when I ask for the men's restroom key, they give me a look, that I don't like. Even when i order something. I think the shift Supervisor told them something that he wasn't supposed to by law. I will not disclose why. It's no one's business, to tell other peoples legal matters. Period. It is very Unprofessional.

Of course the bagels are good and so are other sandwiches, but my God, the employees are so slow sometimes i can't even imagine what takes them so long to butter a bagel. Slow service is the only reason I give 3 stars. The coffee is pretty good I should add. However, being in Amherst, parking is not free and usually hard to come by.

Some of their sandwich idea are neat and their bagels and cream cheese are good. That said it's all all a bit overpriced. In addition I also have major issues with how my local shop handles their coffee. There's always flavors empty, dairy empty, cold coffee, and or coffee grounds. If I'm paying more than 2 dollars for a self serve cup of coffee I shouldn't have any of these issues unless it's super busy.

Just had the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. The coffee dispensers were empty so the manager made a "fresh" pot; this somehow took less than a minute. The coffee tasted horrible, like old reheated burned coffee. I tried just adding lots of cream and sugar so that I might just power through it, because I had things to do and didn't want to wait for the manager to try again and most likely fail, I could only choke down about a quarter of my cup before I began to gag and feel sick. I'm writing this review while sitting on the toilet because it's running right through me. The sandwich was mediocre at best. After spending twelve hard earned American dollars I'm still hungry and want some real coffee but now I can't eat because my stomach and guts are killing me. One star for the manager being gorgeous and having decent tattoos, also there is no way to give zero stars. I will not be returning here ever again. Do yourself a favor and go around the corner to Black Sheep. I don't know how Bruegger's is still in business with such high prices and small portions of mediocre food alongside horrible coffee.

Not good. They have no process for ordering so we just stood there confused. They forgot one of our hash browns. When they remade it the kid handed it to us and the paper was covered in ketchup and avocado. To make it all better the inside of both of the hash browns were cold. I got a turkey sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and everything about it was bland.

It was just ok. I may be biased since im from NJ and we have the best bagels anywhere, but I was not impressed with this place. I came in one morning around 9:30 when I was downtown, and planned to order a plain bagel with ham, egg, and cheese. The place wasn't busy and the employees looked super bored. Nobody told me how the ordering worked, so I went to the cash register (which nobody was at) and the one employee rudely told me I need to go to the end of the counter first.I went to the end of the counter and placed my order, and the uninterested employee retorted that there were no plain bagels left. What?? Every other bagel place I've been to stocks plain bagels all day long. So then I asked for a cinnamon raisin bagel and they had run out of those as well. I finally settled for a pumpkin bagel with ham egg and cheese. This is where the bias may come in. When I received my bagel the egg was one of those egg disks you'd get at Dunkin donuts. Everywhere in NJ/NY if you ask for eggs on your bagel you'll get actual scrambled eggs. Oh well, I ate it anyway. It tasted fine, as I expected. The bagel itself was super bready yet flat, and was NOTHING like a NY style bagel (as their bagels are advertised to be). It felt like it was melting in my mouth as I ate it-- nothing like the hard outside and fluffy inside of NY bagels.I will not be returning... also unrelated but I once applied for a job here and was rejected with extreme backlash as well. I can safely say I'd never want to work at this place with utterly rude employees and mediocre bagels.

The food and drinks are great tasting, but we weren't impressed with the management. He stood facing me, but talking to an employee about their schedule all the while blocking the cream cheese case. I waited see several minutes, and was the only customer at the time, for him to move. I ended up reaching behind the employee for my selection. If he hadn't been facing me I would've understood, but since he was....I would say poor customer service skills here.

The food is delicious of course! Tons of variety, as well as a lot of drink choices inside. Staff is very friendly and moves quick!I’d give 5 stars but the limit of 5 guests in the store(due to covid) is a bit annoying especially because it’s cold out. I’ve been in smaller establishments with no limit, bUT to each their own, the cold is worth it sometimes!

This place has turned into a major disappointment. Two days in a row not open on time, rarely anything available before 7, and the quality of the bagels has gone way down. Sorry Bruegger's, been going to your shop for years but you lost a long time customer.

Good bagels. Everything else, not. Bagel bins are often empty, even in the morning. Often told to come back in a half hour. Understaffed so long waits often, even when no one else is in the bageleria. Staff often rude. In September, they ran out of dough claiming they were blindsided by returning students. That's like being blindsided by cold temps in winter. The place has become a running joke in our household. What next? The punchline: wait until tomorrow. Honestly, it wouldn't/shouldn't be too hard to overcome the issues.

I tried ordering online at 11am and it was closed for online ordering so I went to the brueggers to order in person. There was a sign stating they'll be open 6am-1pm. BUT, they had chairs in front of the door and locked both doors and it was only 12pm .... So I'm not able to give a actual review
