I just called West Marine Solomons and had the pleasure of speaking with McKenzie in regards to a bock box. Although the dock box I was calling about was not in stock, she took the time to do a phone sale. While doing so, she saw I wasn’t a gold member/account holder, so she explained what it costs and how I’d benefit from it. Long story short, she signed me up prior to ordering the dock box. Then sold/ordered me the dock box so I’d get extra promotional points, and since I’m a member/account holder, the dock box will be expedited and ready for pickup in 1-3 days.Thanks again McKenzie!-Randy (Shane)

Every time I go shopping here I never get any help I can wander around for hours and not that help. Plus they walk right past me and not even ask if I need help. It's not that I actually made help but it's nice to know that they actually care about customers. I couldn't believe it I ordered some rope the guys over there hacking on it with what looked like a putty knife. I showed it to the cashier that it was all frayed and that they need another cutting tool. He should have offered to retrim it but didn't. I just really hate going there because I can never get any help.

They have very little in the way of marine parts. After the 4th time going in, each time looking for a different part, I've learned they are not good for this. However, you can get nice rafts, key floaters, blankets, etc.

I go here often enough to know some of the employees names. They always help me find what I need. They have just about anything you would need for a boat. Very friendly customer service oriented business!

Have anything you need for a boating or sailing trip. Prices are a bit high but it's worth the quality, the staff didn't know a few things that I needed but I can't blame them they were all young kids working a summer job. But friendly none the less and they will have almost everything you need to own and maintain your boat. (Edit) They also have specialty or just things that only a sailboat store would have so it's actually a very handy store especially if you have a boat docked close by.

This West Marine has a good selection and is conveniently located near most of the larger Solomon's marinas. Recommend becoming a member (it's free) and do not forget that they will price match most items, so be sure to shop around online first.

West Marine advertises "Bloodworms" for $15 a dozen but are actually "Lugworms" imported from China. Bloodworms have four symmetrical black teeth and Blood. Lugworms have two symmetrical black teeth and no blood.

It's the national chandler. You know if there is West Marine in your town that you can buy a boat part that will work. It might not win the regatta, but it will get you out on the water.

I only went in to buy bait but found a pretty good selection of live and cut baits. They also had some tackle and supply.
