This vet office does not actually care about your pets. We took our 2 cats here for over 10 years at least once a year for routine check ups but when our one cat Mia had lungs problems and one morning started to not be able to breathe. We called them and begged them to see her because she couldn't breath and was dying. They pulled up her chart and simply said they could not do anything, I was crying and panicking on the phone and told them how long they have been seeing her and they could not have cared less. We ended up having to drive 20 minutes away for a emergency vet which she unfortunately didn't make it too.

Smithsburg Vet is affordable and they genuinely care. I’ve had mostly great experiences with them. They never try and upsell anything that isn’t necessary. They are honest and go above and beyond with communicating. They are transparent about costs up front and will give you a time line of when things/tests should be done by. I drive 45 minutes to Smithsburg Vet because no other practice compares to the care they provide!

This was our first time at this vet since we moved last year to Smithsburg, our kitty is over 16 years old and had a good check up, the vet techs were gentle and the Doctor was also very gentle and answered all our questions concerning our senior kitty, we did not feel rushed in any way. We will definitely return in 6 months for another check up.

Took my dog Charlie in today. He was a scared, nervous mess. They were patient and kind. Didn't rush thru the exam and did their very best to try and make him comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone that wants the BEST care for their animal.

Friendly, and never over crowded. Fairly priced and they dont give you the run around about unecessary tests/procedures. They treat the animals well. There are closer vets in proximity but we choose to take our pack (6 Cats and a Shih Tzu) to Smithsburg for their shots/treatments.

Great Vet! I drive half an hour to get here because they really seem to care, and they're a lot cheaper than places where I live. When I had an semi-emergency they were able to see me in one hour! Definitely recommend.

Have been using this office for about 20 years. Have been satisfied but recently had to use another vet in the area as couldn't get my dog in for shots before kenneling her. (Appointments are backed up due to Covid). After using the other vet, I appreciate this office even more. They weren't horrible but not as thorough with the check up as SVC. The other thing may seem petty but SVC acts like my babies are special, other office didn't. I appreciate that.

Great people, great atmosphere, Dr. Conlon is such a wonderful lady and the staff and the receptionist are super. This is part of the Park Circle Animal Hospital which was established by Dr.Lemuel Halterman in 1975 my animals dogs and cats have been patients there every since the first day they opened. The facility is now owned by Doctors Ben and Michelle Byers, fine people and very fine Veterinarians.

Arrived 10 minutes early for appt and the waiting area was empty. Appt was for 10, at 10:30 I asked how far behind they were running as I had another dog at home with separation anxiety. Was told she didn't know how much longer and I needed to be more patient in a nasty tone. I packed up my cat and dog and we left. I don't think it is asking too much to tell the patients waiting half an hour past their appt with an empty waiting room that the vet is running late and given an estimate instead of behaving as if it is somehow my fault that I am still waiting with no answers on how much longer I will have to wait. We left and I have zero desire to go back, new vet time.

This is a good vet office, reasonable prices for routine stuff and will fit you in if you have a pet that hurt himself or isn't feeling well. They are friendly, good with animals, and have separate cat and dog waiting areas and doors. They do not do any surgery or x-rays here, but send you to their other clinic in Hagerstown for those.What I don't like is that they will often try to add to your bill, without asking if it's ok to do so. Once it was a nail trim that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask, just did it and charged me for it. This wasn't a drop off appointment, I was there the whole time, and my dog wasn't trying to scratch them or anything like that. Another time this happened, I had a pet that wasn't feeling quite himself. I agreed to bloodwork to see what tests showed, but then the vet said they were going to go ahead and send him home on a couple of different medications (which they had already put together without asking if I wanted them) just in case it was an infection, etc. The vet acted annoyed when I asked to wait, (just until the next day) for results to come in before putting him on meds he might not need. When results came in the next day, my pet didn't need the medications so it would have been a wasted purchase and maybe made him feel worse temporarily.

I havent been to another vet so I dont have anything to compare it too lol. But I love it, everyone is kind and helpful. I think the prices are fine, idk what a good price is for a vet visit, but I pay like 40 to 60 bucks I think one of the two. Either way, I can deal woth that and of course their services are great, or I wouldnt keep coming back, so that tells you something, I hope. I like it a lot, and its the only vet close to where I live, which is great considering there is nothing out where I live.
