They did have a nice variety of items, and I was able to get what I needed for a good price. The one difference between Dollar general and a store like Dollar tree is that things are quote unquote generally quote unquote a dollar, but there are plenty of items that are well over that and sometimes as much as 5 or $10. So - you really have to have your eyeballs open and be careful for what you choose. They're still pretty competitively priced, even with the things that aren't a dollar. Not a bad place to stop, and generally it'll be worth your while.

Employees are super friendly, but despite there always being trollies of merchandise needing shelved, the selection seems to get smaller and smaller. Regardless, can mostly find what I'm looking for, and prices are mostly reasonable.

It's the local dollar store-decent stop-gap for day-to-day stuff for not a bad price. I'd be more comfortable going if the staff wore masks correctly. I know who's America the region is, but...pull them up over your nose, please, there really is a pandemic out there.

I like Dollar General as a place to quickly get something you need. I also enjoy browsing the seaonal items and clearance items. There are deals to be had when the timing is right. However, I think there should be a few more employees to work. Many times, there are 2 employees on shift, one for the cashier, the other stocking shelves. I believe this creates problems in that customers have to wait in longer lines to pay and have to maneuver around carts of unpacked merchandise in the isles. Prices are somewhat reasonable, depending on the item.

This store has been completely remodeled and is now double the size. You can get pretty much anything you need if you live in Smithsburg and just need to run out quickly for bread, or batteries, or a craft to keep you kid busy. Its nice to have a convenient store in a small town to grab things you need!

I arrived at the store at 7:50pm (yes I know they close at 8pm) but I only needed 2 items. As the automatic front door opened for me, a disgruntled lady came up and said “Ma’am were closed!” I looked in the store and saw several customers inside and she said “we have a long line and only one register open and were trying to wrap it up.” This frustrated me because the store should have still allowed customers to come in until the actual closing time. It’s not our fault that the line is long and only One register is open. The lady (I do not know her name. It was not Reba- I love Reba!) was not very friendly nor apologetic for the store closing early at all. Most of the ladies and the gentleman are very friendly and have great customer service, but this lady I feel was kind of rude and this is not the first time I have witnessed her lack of customer service. I understand that they were busy and overwhelmed, but why single me out when I saw another person walk in the store just moments before me? Also they used to close at 10pm, then recently it was changed to 9pm (which it still says 9pm online), and now- probably due to the COVID pandemic, they close at 8pm, or maybe 7:50 if they have a long line?? I never used to have problems with this store but certain employees could have better attitudes when dealing with the general public in my opinion...

A nice store with a nice selection you have to watch theon the sales because sometimes old signs are left out and then they do not want to honor the sale price when you check out. But an advertised sale has to be honored. Always check your receipt before leaving I usually have at least one item that is not wrong up. My last visit that saved me almost $4

I have been shopping at this store since they opened. I walked in this evening with my service dog in my arms. He had on his harness that says service dog. I no sooner stepped in the door before a lady with dark brown hair with gray streaks (she did not have a name tag) and missing a few teeth, not trying to be mean, pointed to the door and said in a not so nice voice "THAT is not allowed in here". I tried to tell her that he is my service dog. She rolled her eyes at me and very rudely asked for proof. I said that what she was asking was against the law. She said she didn't care it was on the company, not her. I said that I had a letter from my neurologist out in my car. She said well go get it. I had to run out and get my letter. I have severe migraines that make me pass out. My service dog alerts me when they are going to get bad. I was with my husband so I did not take my purse in with me. I absolutely would not mind showing anyone my proof of service dog. I do however have a problem with the manner in which I was asked for proof and my treatment. This lady is extremely rude. I have had my dog in there before and I talked to the manager. She said that he was allowed in the store. She never asked for proof.

Ok, Dollar General, pretty much when you've been in one you've been every one. They are what small department stores used to be 40 or more years ago. They have just about anything you might need from clothing, food, automotive, holiday, batteries, housing and repairs, perfume, pets...Ok, that's out of the way... Pretty much ever Dollar General is going to look somewhat disheveled. They don't have a warehouse so deliveries get put into the aisles. But, that's part of the charm, right? Plus, it really helps them keep their prices low.So, Dollar General, good for a quick stop to set something essential. Not so good if this is the only store you shop at.

The old lady with Dora hair working the register is so rude! Asked her for a price and she started to throw all my items into the bags then snatched the item out of my hand! Lady has no manners and is rude.

Dollar General is DG.....what you see (usually stuff everywhere) is what you get....and this location is no exception. Why is it so difficult for these joints to be CLEAN and organized?? Pluses...go in and see if you find any...and many do at this location!

The store was a little messy but I warranted that to them putting out the warehouse shipments that they probably received. Most of the employees were very nice and our experience was mostly pleasant.

Store was a complete mess. They have stuff laying all over the floor and their distributer carts all over the place and blocking just about every isle I was trying to go through and the back door where the fire exit is a complete blocked and that's a fire trap or death trap. Violation of fire code!

Dollar Generals are all the same you can buy some things that are at some Dollar Generals but the majority of them are exactly the same this one is no different it's convenient not completely dirty yet and the people were polite that work there

Was harassed and followed through the store by employee and when we walked out the door we were greeted by 4 police officers, 2 state troopers, a Smith's burg cop and a Washington County Sheriff. Searched by the officers, me my fiance and my soon to be step son and nothing was found!! Way to go Dollar General on wasting our time and keeping the cops from doing real police work!!!!! So glad you could make our day!!!

It has great prices but make sure you actually get that price on your receipt, I always have to check and usually go back in. Once I was over charged on sale items by $9.00

Cashiers aren't to worried if your happy or finding what you need. But if your in a rush, they are too.... To get you out the door that is.

Good location, alot of inventory. The one thing about DOLLAR GENERAL IS, IS THAT MANY PRODUCTS ARE WELL OVER A DOLLAR, unlike MOST dollar stores where everything IS ONLY ONE DOLLAR
