I wish I had another option for a grocery store, but it's the only one within walking distance to the hotel (where I often stay long term). The food/produce is good...it's the exaggerated prices and unpleasant shopping experience that's the problem. Three small zucchinis cost over $4. Wow.Prices NEVER match the item at the checkout whenever I go there. I shop about 3 times per week and there is ALWAYS a discrepancy in the store's favor (1-2 dollars more than advertised on the shelf). It's not enough to be a member to get the discount price (which I am), one has to download a dumb app. It's such an inconvenience....and unfair to those of us who don't want to clog up their phones with apps they rarely use. OR to those who don't own phones or carry them everywhere.Second downfall: the staff. From the rude checkout people to the unprofessional pharmacy workers. Ask a question (or- Heaven forbid-ask for help), and you get an annoyed employee who makes you feel bad for bothering them. I really wish they would open another grocery store nearby to offer this place some much needed competition.

Look at the picture of the Salmon offerings -- three different prices with no price comparison! Filet per pound , two "per each" offerings (8 ounces and 6 ounces) at $9.99 a pound, $17.98 per pound, and $15.98 per pound.You should ask for the amount you want cut from the $9.99/lb, and request you selection to be skinned, which they will do for freeProduce looking a bit picked over tinight

Don't Trust Safeway Sales - Bait and Switch:Attempted to use $10 off coupon with $50 purchase from Falls Grove Community coupon. Presented the coupon at the beginning of my check out. It was only after my goods were purchased and bagged that I found out from the cashier, "Oops! If you read the (really) fine print, the $50 doesn't include dairy, meats, etc.'. Absolute rip off as I would've only purchased $15 worth of goods versus $63.00 of goods. Shame on Safeway!

Last time I gave it 4 stars, but now only 2. This store definitely changed, unfortunately not for good.The staff is not friendly at all. Seems like they are doing you a favor. No smiles, no cheers. Weird.I often visit this store to find out that they are out of advertised sale items. I would say more than half the time. And with digital coupons they neither give you rain checks, nor they substitute.The floral department is still good, better than other supermarkets.

I needed a floral arrangement last Sunday. Not realizing that most independent flower shops are closed on Sundays. The staff at this store saved the day. Their florist, Happy, was marvelous and put together one of the best arrangements I could find at very reasonable price. She was professional, qualified and customer service oriented.Thanks

I usually shop at Safeway. However, today's experience was less than favorable. Many shelves were empty. Lots of boxes were in the isles but few people were stocking shelves. I had to ask for a check out attendant. Hopefully, this was just an off day.

The Latina lady that runs the GM department is very rude and not helpful to the customers. I have had her lie to me on several occasions about products not being available when the cases of it are sitting right on the floor. Even better watch her physically carry them into the back room and then say she can't find them or tell me they were already stocked when I can clearly see the empty shelf.

My local neighborhood store is more than convenient, clean, and has great options for people with multiplefood alergies; it also has the best produce staff who remember you by name (lived here 19 years), but also they continue to reorganization and restructure for more efficient and effective shopping, they invest in new technologies for self check-out, stock new products for our food and none-food needs, have an all-inclusive culture, and forward thinking business sense. I have been to other Safeway stores in Maryland and other states, and the Safeway at Fallsgrove in Rockville, Maryland, is the best.

Service is the issue here. Pharmacy staff are excellent, very responsive, courteous and professional. Deli counter staff are also polite and responsive. By contrast, the checkout system is designed to force users to self-checkout. Only 2 checkout aisles are usually open, even when busy, and 1 is strictly reserved for "15 items or less". When busy, the "15 item" aisle won't pick up the slack even when empty and clerks are intentionally very slow. Clerks also have to bag for you, which slows the process even more. Giant is about half a mile way and is better managed.

This was my first time going to this Safeway in my new neighborhood and the friendliness of the staff was awesome we had to do self checkout because there was only one lane open. And even though I hate self check-out I tell you the attendant was great she kept a conversation going with me and my son and then gave my step-son stickers at the end little did she know that my son is on the Spectrum and absolutely loves stickers he told me his favorite part of the day was the stickers at Safeway so thank you

The place is constantly stocked with food, so if you can't find something you want, this is the place to go.I do often find expired food here so make sure to check the dates.The lady at the cheese counter is particularly rude and an overall unpleasant person. She will never get close to me and either yells at me or expects me to walk to her when I'm at the cheese. I can't hear her very well so having her yell is uncomfortable as I don't want to be yelling back. I've also heard her yelling at other coworkers so loudly that I heard her 40 feet away, she was being rude to them so I feel bad for anyone that works with her, managment needs to do something about this.The woman at the self checkout is very unhelpful and blames everything on the customer's. I handed her expired meat and she told me that is why it is 50% off, we always sell expired meat...

I love knowing they have fresh shucked oysters in the seafood dept usually i can only find it at wegmans i was just visiting the area but I'll come again soon for more!

Front desk/management workers (especially this one particular tall young white guy) are rude and have an attitude when you ask for help. They act like their too busy and as if you're bothering them. Where's the good customer service?

This location is terrible! The employees act like spoiled, 7 y/o brats, without any supervision. They never get orders right and refuse to fix the problems in a timely manner. They lie and give customers the run around, so they can avoid doing any work. They also have no problem cursing out their customers. All employees at this location need to be retrained or replaced, especially Keith and his team. I did not appreciate being cursed out today after my order was completely wrong and it took several hours and several lies from his department to finally fix the issue in a way which was not at all acceptable. I expect an apology. If you take my money, but do not uphold your end of the deal, I expect you to fix the issue IMMEDIATELY, not hours later, or I expect a refund IMMEDIATELY, not hours later. As a paying customer, I deserve respect and will not tolerate lies. Do better! Until I get an apology, this Safeway and Safeway.com have lost my business. The only job requirements are to be able to read and be pleasant to customers. They have failed miserably at both!

The pharmacist told me not to go since they are always very busy. I am shocked that she told us to drive traffic away from the store. We went to another store of course for our medical needs, but the store owner should be aware of this.

I'm not a regular Safeway shopper as there are other grocery stores closer. I needed a few things, was in the area and popped in. It wasn't busy. I found what I needed, the cashier was very friendly, and I went on my way. The store was clean, well stocked and their carrot cake is yummy!

Some isle's are not marked, at least not from end of isle nearest meat dept. Also, just bought O Organics hard boiled eggs and was so put off by the smell, I decided not to eat them. It was not an egg smell but rather like a cleaning fluid. Best by date 5/25/22 never again

I just recently moved into the area. Where I’m from, there aren’t any Safeways, so this is my first impression of the brand. This Safeway is in a beautiful, prime location, literally less than a mile from me. Unfortunately, I will no longer be frequenting this location, mainly due to my most recent experience with ordering via the app for delivery. My order was never delivered, despite it being recorded as such. There has been zero communication on the store’s end. I never heard from the driver during the course of the “delivery”, even during the process of trying to sort things out with the online representatives. It is now day 12, and I’ve still yet to receive my refund of over $200. I’ve also still not heard anything from store management in regards to my refund request. In my opinion, if you’re up to giving Safeway a shot, do yourself a favor, and frequent a different location.

Came here like a year ago and staff was not greeting at all. Today I came for a fast run and thr cashier who checked us out was sweet like honey. Kadiatu was our cashier, she was the best and better than some of the staff that was rude before. Kadiatu asked if we found everything OK and was so kind and caring with a good attitude and being very professional. I hope to see her again because she is amazing and soft spoken. Keep up the good work !

Like this store and location in Fallsgrove. Want to love it but just cannot because the fresh food and produce within fruits and vegetables is consistently average and hard to find at same quality levels as I find from Harris Teeter in Park Potomac. So as much as it is convenient and staff has been great, I limit my grocery shopping here due to the produce.

Fallsgrove Safeway - Thank you for always keeping the shelves stock. Love the Fresh Produce selection, their meat department, Deli/Hot Food section and their Artisan Bakery.Great team! This store is clean & organize. Friendly customer service. Open early 6am and close late as 12am.
