Loved Poolesville Hardware Store.Owners name is John.Walking in the store is a complete throw back when I wad a kid, wood floors full shelves of everything you can think of and a voice from somewhere saying can I help you! I loved it.I came for salt that all the box stores don't have and was happy to meet John and spend time in the past with a real owner who takes pride and has years of experience to assist all who come through his door.I will be a loyal customer now. An absolutely incredible place. The store is filled with all those little parts and tools you didn't realize you needed when you started a project. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, ready to help you figure out what you need to get the job done. When you picture all the best aspects of a classic small-town hardware store, this is it.

Anyone who lives in the vicinity of Poolesville knows this place is the best! If not and you are just passing through or visiting, and have any HW needs this is the place to go. I'd 10 times rather go here than any of the larger retail stores. I don't have anything against Home Depot but I'd just much rather go here.

I don't know how they fit so much in there. It reminds me of the old old fashioned hardware stores. And I love it

Every small town should have a good hardware store, and this one fills the bill for Poolesville. The staff always seems to be happy and friendly, and eager to help with advice when you ask about something.Like pretty much all of the small hardware stores, you're going to pay a dollar or two more than the "big box" places like Lowes or Home Depot. But you could spend the difference in gas, alone, driving to one from the Poolesville area.

I moved to Poolesville in 1988 as a young whipper snapper. I went to Poolesville Hardware and met John. I told him I was looking for a stud finder to hang pictures in my brand new home (to me anyway). He tossed me one from behind the counter and said bring it back by five. I felt like I was in the Walton''s (tv show) Hardware store. There is no better small town shop. They have endured because they have adapted to change and always have superb customer service. Fast forward to today, 2013 and I need a gear puller to get a fan off an ac compressor motor...John said, bring it up and we'll get it off
