My dog had a great time! Was her first experience away from us, and was for four nights. Got updates on her well-being (report card). She was actually a little sad to leave. Could tell the staff knew her, and truly care about what they do. Definitely recommend the stay and play, and get your pup the spa treatment while there.

My dogs are currently boarding at Shady Beach and I have boarded them there many times over the last 3 years. Alice and her team are fabulous. One of my dogs is very fear aggressive and often snaps - but they have won him over and he willingly approaches every person who comes to the front and interacts with him. I never worry about them when I am out of town as I know the care they receive is excellent! Thanks Alice for all your kindness to both me and my babies. Love Shady Beach!!

I worked here for several months during the off season of my summer job, and it was a great experience! Not only is it a great place to work, it's also a great place to board your pets! Alice the owner is so sweet and very knowledgeable about the animals, and she has a great passion for taking care of them. Though I was the receptionist, I also spent a lot of time in the kennel as well so I saw first hand how well the pups were taken care of. The employees strive to keep the animals safe and happy, and they work hard to keep the facilities clean.They are very transparent with the pricing, and offer lots of different add ons called enrichments that owners can choose for their pets such as extra play time and treats. Even if owners select a standard board, pets are still walked multiple times a day and have access to go outside. Animals also receive lots of stimulation and attention to keep them from being bored. Dogs can sometimes get stressed when in a new environment away from home, but the employees work hard to ensure they are always comfortable and safe. They are very accommodating to dogs that might be more sensitive, and they take the time to work with/give extra attention to any dog that might not be used to boarding.The grooming here is also amazing! Bob the groomer is great with the dogs and always works hard to provide customers with the best groom for their pets. He takes the time to talk to owners to find out exactly what type of groom they would like, and always goes the extra mile to ensure they are satisfied with the results.I would definitely recommend Shady Beach to anyone looking for boarding, grooming, or daycare, it really is an amazing business!

We dropped our Shepherd off in excellent health. Boarded while on vacation for 3 days. Our dog was sick for several months after. After countless vet appointments our dog is much better but NOT a 100%. Bloody stool, vomiting, diarrhea just not the same personality. I highly recommend for people NOT to use this facility. Our dog was drugged. Very sad.

I can't recommend Shady Beach enough!! My 13 year old fur baby came home looking like she just came back from a vacation! She didn't look at all stressed or upset. We had her groomed before picking her up and the owners were great about getting back to me regularly when I messaged them and inquired about how she was doing. We will absolutely use them for any future boarding needs and recommend them to all of our friends.

Two times we have boarded our dog Major with Shady Beach Kennels and my dog seems so relaxed when they bring him out for pick up. I was very worried about boarding Major because he is high energy and doesn’t do well in a crate. The facility is very clean and they really take care of your pup. I recommend the doggy day care for long boarding stays your dog will too.

Shady Beach was great with our high-energy dog. Boarding has always been a struggle since he’s dog-aggressive and needs a lot of exercise, and he usually returns from other boarders with a greater anxiety around dogs. But Shady Beach allowed us to sign him up for multiple enrichment activities that helped him to enjoy his stay! He came home happy, healthy and exhausted. And best of all, he didn’t show any signs of anxiety around other dogs when we took him on walks after his stay at Shady Beach, so we’re confident that he was given a safe and entertaining environment during his 3-day stay. Best boarder we’ve used by far!

Shady Beach Kennel is great! Alice is wonderful. I take my dog Foxy there all the time to stay and to get her haircut. Alice is so kind to Foxy and all the dogs that go there. A great place to leave her when I need to travel. She looks so good after her haircut. You will love Shady Beach Kennels. The staff love working with the dogs and you have peace of mind!!!! Love them!

This place is amazing. One of my dogs is blind and Alice the owner takes such good care of her. I really recommend this place for baths, boarding, and doggy daycare. My other dog goes to doggy daycare and has such a blast! The facebook page has tons of pictures and videos, you can tell all the dogs love it there.

Recently boarded my 2 dogs here for almost 1 week. They are always well cared for here. Have plenty of room to run around. And they even trimmed their nails. Have used them many times before and will continue to do so.

I dropped my dog, Deacon, a great dane, off on 18 August and picked him up on 22 August. I preparation for this stay at Shady Beach, I took him to North East Animal Clinic on 9 August to ensure he was up to date on all his vaccinations and get him a check up - and we left with a clean bill of health. When I picked him up today around 10AM he looked excited to come home - but weird. Like, old or something. ...we got outside and he wanted to jump in...couldn't. After falling out of the truck and laying in the rain, I helped him in and we left. We got home (not even 3 miles away) and I just burst into tears.  He couldn't get out of the truck. He couldn't walk. He's been laying under a blanket since we got home. He had a huge bruise/abrasion on his rib cage, fur missing from his front elbows, and small red bruises along his underside. The only thing I was told upon pick up was that he didn't eat much in the first day, but after that ate well. I've had him here for 8 hours now and I can tell he hasn't eaten well, he hasn't been drinking water - both which I kind of thought might be an issue since he gets nervous. But staggering? Not being able to stand or walk? And bruised? No. I called at 4PM during business hours and left a message. It's been two hours, the two hours they are normally open for calls during a Sunday afternoon. No call back. And not enough time on the message machine to leave all of the details- so please, contact me. You have mine and my husband's email addresses and phone numbers. You have our address. I would welcome a visit so you can see for yourself. You have cameras at your facility - check them. Show me that he is playing and he got hurt. I was charged for play time, and if it happened, why not tell me he got hurt when I picked him up? Why wasn't I called when/if he got hurt then? Did no one notice that he couldn't walk? We'll likely be taking him back to North East Animal Clinic in the morning to see how much weight he lost, if he's dehydrated, and what could be going on with him. It would be most helpful if you could let us know the details before we go. I didn't expect to pick him up in this condition. I did post a pci of his bruise on the Facebook page. I also have video of him walking if you'd like to see it.

Friendly and attentive staff! Took us on a tour before leaving our dogs for first time. Reasonable rates and my dogs can stay together!
