Lady at the register ripped me off. Didn’t accept coupon and claimed it was only for deliveries. I didn’t have the mailer with me in store so I just accepted the higher price to not make people in line behind me wait even longer. I checked at home and followed the directions to the letter for the digital coupon. The lady at the register simply had no clue and instead of prioritizing customer service just lied to me so she didn’t have to ask an associate for help. Never going back to this store. No issues with the one in Waldorf.

Jenn in the bakery was insanely rude. Definitely don’t recommend using the bakery at this location because I always have a bad experience. Last time I visited the store it took 15 minutes for anyone to assist me in the bakery and when I called the store the employee gave a loud sigh and was extremely rude.

Worst experience ever! I went to put gas in my car and accidentally gave the wrong pump number. As soon as I realized, I quickly let Chris know and his response was “too late now, you might need to go catch the guy and fix your issue”. Surprised at his response, I asked him “are you ok” to which he told me it’s company policy. I’m not sure what the company policy is, but I hope that’s not true! Chris was horrible!

The Safeway grocery store located off of 301 Crain Highway in La Plata, Maryland has recently improved the cleanliness of its facility and expanded various food selections.The quality of their fresh produce has also improved.I particularly enjoy their deli department and chicken special on Mondays.Try their habeñero chicken, Amish potato salad, and special "healthy mixed crunchy salad." Mmmm, totally delicious.Make sure you double-check the expiration dates in the cheese, butter, yogurt, and ice cream section , albeit there have been significant updated improvements.Overall, the Safeway supermarket at this location is my first market for grocery shoppingl.

They chose shrinkflation over their community that has supported them for years. At the end of 2023 their pricing had only gotten more predatory. We will never shop at Safeway again

I drive 20 min to go to this Safeway for the florist alone! The selection of flowers and plants are amazing. Not to mention the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great store with a great team.

Nice for lunch pick up. Hot bar chicken doesn't disappoint. 2 piece meal - $8. Also serves lunch sushi pickup done fresh at lunch daily during the week.

This is a very well-organized Safeway and usually clean the produce is usually well stocked and fresh I also like their bagels but make sure you get them fresh in the morning like you should. There's also a little Starbucks in this Safeway which is nice. I've always found the cashiers to be helpful and friendly

Very dissatisfied with curbside pickup employees. They were very rude when I could not receive my four digit code. They refused to help me in any way they told me to come back when I had the number. I tried to give the young lady my order number and she refused to even look at it. I believe her name is Tiffany very rude and mean over the phone and in person. Would not recommend dealing with that department

This 3 stars is for their wonderful employee TERESA. She’s always available, multitasking and helping customers in need. Her friendliness makes a customer come back and shop in the store. I don’t see anyone as friendly as her. May she’ll continue to be helpful to others.I hope the management will conduct an orientation to make the grocery more welcoming to shoppers just like Teresa.

I have to give a review for the great service I had. I ordered a bunch of platters for a small wake we were having. Ordering online was easy. My order was ready on time and the platters were done beautifully! All veggies and fruit were fresh and looked very nice on the tray. They even brought them out to my car for me. Everyone enjoyed the food. Thank you for a great job

Today is my daughter’s birthday party and I forgot to get her cupcakes from the original place I ordered them. I wanted to get a last minute cake and went over to Bakery. One young lady asked if we needed help and I asked about their Bling Cake (that wasn’t displayed, only the name). Malik, I assume he’s an assistant there in Bakery, he asked his manager to help but she just annoyingly said “we only have what’s out.” We simply wanted to know what it looked like and IF we could’ve paid for it. Malik was MORE than helpful and going above & beyond for us, he deserves nothing but good energy and a promotion to a manager position. The manager was scratching her shoulder and putting icing on the cakes she was working on. Once home with the cake, we noticed hair on the cake (obviously not any of our curly hair, it was straight). So there’s that. Anyway, I definitely would ONLY work with Malik if I ever get anything from the Bakery here.

This Safeway is clean and has a great selection of organics. The prices are really competitive, and they also have some cool deals. My favorite is the "pick any 4 meats for $20" (mostly family sized). Definitely my go-to grocery store in La Plata.

This Laplata store is great. It’s a shame to say , but it’s all about the area you live in. The appearance of the store and the food quality and items offered is better than the Waldorf location.

Love when I can shop in store, however placing an order has been horrible past week. 2x this week Ive placed orders for pick up as I have no transportation. 1st - was charged for everything, but then not everything was filled because it was out of stock. 2nd- Missing items that were suppousedly filled. 3rd- Called both times explainjng situation trying to get my money back. 2nd time asked for manager and manager on duty just gave me to same person as before. Refunds were still messed up. It has been a nightmare

Safeway is ok. Prices are higher than other stores in the Area. 1 issue I have is employees are not friendly at all. Doesn't take much to ask if you are finding everything or a simple hello in passing. Also it's soooo cluddered. Too many items for sale sitting at end caps or in the middle of an aisle..

I drive 20 miles to go to this Safeway! Everything is great about this place. Best floral shop anywhere! Meat department always stocked well and they don't run out of things like other stores do. You can find everything you are looking for. I don't have to go to another Safeway to get sale items. Love this place!

You have to check your receipt everytime you leave the store because the other items you put in your cart that you thought it was on sale it always rang up higher. The rack would say its only a $1.49 but once you're in a cashier you will pay around $3.99 I don't know if its a strategy of the store but it sucks. We are trying to budget everything but the store is always trying to messing it up. It's very disappointing.

I just picked up a Drive Up order. The celery was brown and soft. The bagged romaine was filled with dead AND live brown bugs and is soft as well. I called the store and the associate Said "mhm" after I explained these issues. I paused waiting for some type of response and she eventually asked if I was still there. I said yes, I was waiting on a response. She still said nothing. And then I asked her if this was normal (since she didnt seem concerned or surprised at all) and told her that I'm hesitant to eat the rest of the items due to it all being "fresh" ingredients and things that needed to be stored properly. She said mhm again... she told me I would be refunded for the two items I mentioned and that is where the conversation ended. Now I realize that I'm also missing the apples & I'm not even calling back about them. So disappointed in the lack of service. I originally decided to not order fresh foods anymore, but the terrible customer service makes me not want to shop there at all anymore!

Sandy in Customer Service is one of the kindest people working in customer service in any business that I’ve ever met.Story: By most unfortunate dumb luck, I did over and hour and a half of grocery shopping and bagged all my groceries and managed to get them all arranged in my cart (no small feat since it was $430+ of food) before realizing in horror that I’d left my card at home. 😭I was embarrassed to the point of tears and Sandy gently told I could come back and get the groceries after I went home and got my credit card. She gave me kind assurance that it happened all the time and that my food would be refrigerated.My husband returned to Safeway 2.5 hours later. Due to a misunderstanding regarding how long they’ll hold groceries, my groceries got packed up shortly before my husband arrived. 😩 I called customer service to try and understand why this happened. Sandy openly admitted that she was the same person I’d spoken to in person apologized for any role she’d played in -what was for me- a tremendous and emotional inconvenience. Sandy was wholly sincere, thoughtful, and listened to my concerns and frustration with thoughtful attention.Despite it being a deeply irritating situation all around, Sandy’s compassion made it bearable and because of her, I will continue to shop at Safeway.P.S. It’s possible her name was Sandra. I hope I didn’t get it wrong.

A lot of the workers there were very nice and helpful, and if I was just rating on that I would give 5 stars. My family and I went there today, we went in through the deli side, there was a HORRIBLE smell as soon as you entered. The entire store is expensive and some items don't show their actual price and find out the something for $3 ends up $13 at the register. Other than the small issues, its a good store and looks very clean.

Friendly staff, ALWAYS NEAT AND STOCKED! La plata is literally 20 minutes out of my way, but I refuse to shop anywhere else! This particular staff deserves most friendly/helpful staff and pleasant customers. I rarely leave reviews because I forget, but this staff deserves the acknowledgement! Great job cashiers, service members, stock, management and team!
