They took very good care of our dogs while they were boarded. The owner Janet is a lovely person who clearly cares deeply about animals. She went way above and beyond to help me with obtaining emergency medical care for my pet (not associated with boarding) while I was in the midst of a personal crisis. She is competent and responsible. You can trust your pets with Janet and Blue Dog Boarding.

My dog, Luna, goes to Blue Dog weekly for daycare and occasionally for overnight stays. We are very happy with Blue Dog and highly recommend it to other dog owners. When I drop off Luna at Blue Dog she is always so excited and she is in great spirits when I pick her up.

I started taking my dog to doggie daycare at Blue Dog about two months ago. He doesn't go often---no more than once a week. I am so impressed with every aspect of Blue Dog Boarding and Daycare. The first day I was nervous about leaving my dog someplace new. The staff completely reassured me, telling me the schedule and answering all my questions. Every single employee that I've dealt with there has been kind, understanding and professional. They are very firm about dogs being up to date on all vaccinations, which I really appreciate. Since that first day, my dog is eager to go with the staff member who meets us at the car. His social skills with other dogs are improving. I highly recommend Blue Dog Boarding and Daycare.

We have only had wonderful experiences at Blue Dog (for day care and boarding)! Our pupper Kylo Ren is always well cared for and loved by Janet and the team. We love seeing him running and playing on the video cam while we’re away, and the amazing report cards - with great detail - are such a fabulous (and informative) touch!UPDATE (Spring 2024): We just picked up our Kylo from Janet and team at Blue Dog after almost a week of boarding. He was taken care of with SO much love and attention! They even kindly handled his medication during that time, and he just loves his Sniffari walks. We picked him up and he was so happy and beautifully bathed, and seems to love it there. THANK YOU, BLUE DOG!

I have been very happy with the care and responsiveness of Blue Dog. We adopted a high energy lab mix with poor socialization history. They have provided great care for him while keeping the safety of all dogs a priority. We can see so much progress in him with the assistance from the care from Blue Dog. I also really appreciate the response to my inquiries. They provide me with feedback and support that goes above just a business. They truly care about the dogs.

10 dogs that we know of have died at Blue Dog Boarding, because they neglected to get the dogs to a vet. They had kennel cough running through their facility and instead of informing people of this or getting dogs treatment as soon as they showed signs of infection, they waited until it was a medical emergency to inform the owners. Our dog was one of the lucky ones. They waited two days, until our dog could barely breathe before calling us to inform us our dog needed immediate medical attention. We signed a contract that authorized them to get whatever medical care was necessary. There was never a need for them to wait one minute. As soon as they heard the first cough they should have gotten our dog to the vet. This place should be shut down!

The team at Blue Dog is amazing. My dog is always pulling me out of my car to get into the kennel. It’s like his summer camp.

Blue Dog has been the most professional boarding and daycare my dog has ever experienced.Their thoughtful and intentional care of my dog has always been impressive. My dog loves to go play and often doesn't want to leave. During a health scare at their location they communicated frequently and thoroughly about the situation. Even my veterinarian was impressed with their handling of a challenging situation.

Blue Dog Boarding and Daycare is amazing from the care and services you’re pet will receive. Janet and the rest of the staff are such caring and communicative people. The proof is in the picture I added. These boys love Blue Dog and everything about it. If I could give 1000 stars I would. Blue Dog is great and I would’ve bring my fur family anywhere else but here!💞

I have been a client of Blue Dog since 2014 when my oldest dogs now were puppies, and I have recently been back with our family’s pandemic puppy who needs daycare when my mother is being treated for cancer. The staff at blue dog goes above and beyond for their clients and dogs. When I was hospitalized in an emergency, they took my dog with 10 minutes of notice, and then sent me pictures of him, knowing I was just admitted and was worried about him. My dog loved all the staff and he was always excited to go.One of my dogs was becoming particularly difficult as he aged, not getting along with other dogs. They expertly rotated him and kept him happy for a long time. Because we were in a bind and needed him at daycare even if he wasn’t playing well with others, their manager took it upon herself to keep him with her and play with him privately so he could remain at daycare and not be bored.I trust Janet and her staff 100% with the health and well-being of my pets. They never have held back information from us, even when it meant that one of our dogs wasn’t having fun with other dogs. Janet and her team are extremely communicative. Best in the business.

I send both my dogs to Blue Dog Boarding & Daycare. The staff is professional, very easy to work with and my dogs love them! When we pick the dogs up, they are happy and well fed. The video we can watch during the day show them having fun. We will be sending the dogs back there because they all care about the dogs and is shows.

What a great place ! My dog loves it, it is the ONLY place where dogs feel great, free and have fun. I give my dog to the Blue Dog Boarding with confidence that my dog will be safe and happy while I am traveling. Every time I take vacation, my dog has a REAL DOG vacation.I love this place and highly recommend it to all dog owners. And if you miss your dog they have a video service - you can watch your dog playing there. it is really cool and awesome !

Janet runs this daycare/boarding center expertly and with love and compassion. Anthony cares for the dogs with a deep knowledge and empathetic appreciation for the individuality of each and every dog. I am so glad Liberty Falls Veterinary Clinic highly recommended them! A+ facility.

I've been taking my 6yo Lab mix to Blue Dog since he was 6 mos old and we have always received outstanding care and service there. I understand there is great grief from the recent loss of some dogs who succumbed to the influenza epidemic and are believed to have caught it at Blue Dog, but that is not within the power of a facility owner to prevent. Once the situation was recognized Blue Dog was extremely proactive in reaching out to its customers, urging us to quarantine our dogs and get them vaccinated, update our emergency contact information, and tightening their vaccine restrictions. They also provided valuable information on the course of the epidemic. I don't know what more they could have done, and I will be returning my dog to Blue Dog as soon as my vet advises that it's safe again to bring him to daycare.

We have used Blue Dog for a few years now for daycare and boarding. Our dog always comes back happy and tired from a day of playing. The staff are consistently patient and positive with our high-energy dog. Highly recommend Blue Dog!

Our dog barely survived over the holidays after getting pneumonia at this facility. We appreciate that they took him to an emergency veterinary hospital, but he had a 106 degree fever upon arrival, which is high enough for organ failure. Clearly he had been sick for several days but we were only informed when it became life-threatening. We have used Blue Dog since 2017, but something has changed recently. We hope they can get their act together.

We have been bringing our dog to Blue Dog for many years - Crosby is almost more excited to go to Blue Dog than to come home - and when he comes home, its clear his energy was well spent while at Blue Dog - far different than other boarding locations where the dogs can be in crates most of the day, with limited real exercise. This past December there was a flu outbreak. Crosby was at Blue Dog at the time. Blue Dog contacted us to let us know of the outbreak, and the Crosby was one of the infected dogs - they let us know that they had moved Crosby and the other symptomatic dogs to a separate area, and were monitoring all of the dogs. A few things of note - they thought at the time it was kennel cough - which was a surprise, as Blue Dog is very rigorous about requiring bortadela vaccine - I have always been impressed by this. It turned out that it was the flu … and our dog was one that had the flu vaccine - clearly the flu that was happening throughout the county was one that was resistant to the vaccine, and I suspect was a reason that it was spreading so broadly in our area (and at Blue Dog). With Blue Dog letting us know about Crosby’s illness, we had a relative pick him up - we brought him to our vet, whose initial diagnosis was home based treatment. Crosby’s illness worsened, and we took him to the hospital, where he then improved and fully recovered.Interestingly, our Vet encouraged us to file a claim with the Vaccine manufacturer, as we were not the only dog our Vet had where the vaccine did not protect the dogs - and the Vaccine manufacturer took responsibility, and paid for the care Crosby received.I was pleased that Blue Dog contacted when they did, and made the best of a bad situation. Crosby loves Blue Dog, and is eager for his next visit to spend time with the Blue Dog care givers and the other dogs!

I would be doing a disservice if I did not share my story of boarding my young pup with Blue Dog way back in 2019. I had just gotten my dog and decided to take him to Blue Dog for doggie day care. He did well for a few days so I decided to try out their boarding service. That was until my dog started hacking the morning I was to take him to blue dog. After determining it was kennel cough, I called and left Blue Dog a message that I could no longer board him that day and that I believe my dog got kennel cough from their establishment. I never received a call back from blue dog not even to acknowledge I was no longer boarding let alone obtain more info on his kennel cough. I have since boarded my dog a multitude of times at other establishments and he’s never gotten sick. It’s unfortunate that years later; there’s still the concern of lack of communication. My hearts go out to all who have been impacted.

Over the years, my dog has developed health issues (colitis) and behavior challenges (on Prozac). Blue Dog has always bent over backwards to take care of her, work with me, and make me feel confident in choosing them to board my dog. They’re so great!

My family and I have patronized Blue Dog since 2018 and have had nothing but good experiences with them. The staff has always been attentive and friendly. Before the pandemic, when we could go inside the waiting area, we would watch staff clean up the dog eliminations constantly; it was always clean and sanitary. When the pandemic hit, they followed strict procedures and provided updates on their practices as guidance evolved. When they hired a groomer, who ended up being unreliable, they sent clientele communications expressing that they did not do business like that and would find another groomer.I have always been impressed with Blue Dog’s services and the owner’s personal touches. Additionally, I have also been grateful for the peace of mind we have knowing that we can take the dogs somewhere they are comfortable, somewhere we know and trust, when emergencies come up. For example, we had to board them suddenly when my dad passed away, when I had pains during my third trimester and had to stay at the hospital until 11 pm on a weekday, and again when I gave birth. We love Blue Dog and are so glad they part of our community. In light of recent events, I want to add:Per our veterinarian’s guidance, we always kept our dogs’ canine influenza vaccines up to date. I understand some clients were tragically affected by an outbreak of canine influenza at the end of 2022. What happened was traumatic for everyone involved. I remember Blue Dog emailing everyone, notifying them of the situation and asking them to update their emergency contacts. In the owner’s updates, I have seen how much importance she places on communication, honesty, and transparency.Losing a pet is always devastating. I’m very concerned, though, about the ways in which a group of people are channeling their pain. Social media can be a force for good if wielded responsibly, but it can also be used to bully and destroy people. I would hate to see a small business taken down for something beyond its control. Is smearing Blue Dog’s reputation, or demanding it pay bills that would probably make it go bankrupt, going to heal the wounds of the people who lost their beloved pets?I hope everyone can pause, give themselves space to grieve, and consider whether their actions will help them in the healing process or simply transfer their pain onto someone else, someone who also cares about our pets and is suffering.

UPDATE: The animal control report was published - they state clearly that TEN deceased dogs are related directly to Blue Dog over this 2022-2023 holiday period. And on 3/21/23 when they inspected again, there was a "strong odor of urine" and they "still had an accumulation of feces present, though it appeared to be very old" and that the owner "doesn't utilize this area due to the difficulty in cleaning it". They are open again. Take the chance if you dare.ETA: Someone stated that Blue Dog was "out in front of this"....actually we have evidence that Blue Dog didn't even try to contact our family for TWO DAYS while our dog was ill. They didn't even try our emergency contact until two full days had passed either. In fact, once they did contact us, it took them many hours to even get our dog to the vet. Many dogs have died there. The costs are high - not just the $$, but the fear and grief and sadness we feel when our darling doggies are mistreated by a place we thought we could trust. BUYER BEWARE.If I could give less than one star I would. This place is NOT SAFE for your pets.We boarded our two dogs there for 10 days while our family vacationed for the winter break. We received a call about 5 days into the vacation that one of our dogs was having significant trouble breathing and they needed us to take the dog to the vet. Of course, we were not in town, but they expected us to have an emergency contact who would be able to take care of our dogs (instead of the boarding place we are paying to take care of our dogs). They agreed to take our dog to the emergency vet (they had to go to two since one had a long wait), who diagnosed kennel cough and pneumonia. The boarding employee told the ER intake personnel that our dog had been coughing for TWO DAYS prior to this. Our dear dog needed to be hospitalized for two days more, and cost us a fortune and JANET at Blue Dog stated that this was our fault and our problem because its not up to her to take the dog to the vet. Not only that, she charged us for them TAKING our dog to the vet in addition to the boarding stay - and when we called to discuss it, she yelled at US! We pointed out that she could have started care for our dog when the dog started coughing - and early treatment would have totally changed the course of illness, but she denied that our dog had been at all sick up until the day she decompensated.I had to call my mother away from my sick, hospitalized father to get our other dog - who it turns out, was ALSO coughing. But when she picked up the dog, she was told it wasn't a cough - it was my mom's fault for pulling on the leash. She went straight to our regular vet, who diagnosed kennel cough. This boarding facility's lack of care cost our family thousands of dollars, but more importantly, nearly cost the life of one (and potentially both) of our darling doggies. I highly suggest finding someone else to take care of your dogs. This place is run by truly horrible people.

For the past 2+ years we have left our dog in the care of Vlue Dog. We have experienced several other boarding and day care in the area and never have we felt that are dog was so cared for. She is a beevous dog and can get anxious around other dogs and they have made it work to the point that she drags us inside when we arrive.

What a wonderful experience for Daisy May. First time we were able to visit inside the facility. It was so clean and neat. The staff were very responsive and friendlyThey accommodated all our requests and kept us informed on Daisy's well being throughout her two day stay. Loved the report card given us at the end of the stay.

I love Blue Dog Boarding and have been a client since 2014 with 3 different dogs. We recently had our newest puppy stay for the first time over Christmas. During all of our stays, Blue Dog Boarding was responsive to our needs and reliable. Blue Dog has been especially helpful in providing accommodations during our abrupt change of plans. I appreciated their drop off service as I didn’t need to leave my car during drop off/ pick ups. My only concern is that Ada came back with a very strong “kennel” odor during her stay and had some dried feces on her fur. But it was nothing a nice warm bath at home couldn’t resolve.Update for clarity: Clients are able to schedule and pay for an exit bath as an additional service. But I was mostly referring to the overall condition my puppy was sent home. I wasn’t sure if the dried feces was hers or not and didn’t know I was carrying it home. If so, then I wonder what happened for her to have dried feces on her. Probably just better if I didn’t see it. Not a complaint but certainly a valid observation that I hope is taken into kind consideration.

Focusing on the grooming side of blue dog - can't say enough about the excellent grooming that our dog (and until recently, dogs) receive here. Our dog is a challenging breed but they always do a great job of capturing her peculiar grooming requirements. it's also great that as a general rule, the pets are only there for a few hours as opposed to all day which they appreciate and we do as well. Their current groomer is excellent and we are happy to return there and support.

My dogs have always had a good experience at Blue Dog and the staff is excellent. At the most recent boarding, I was caught in an unexpected snow storm and I was going to be delayed picking up the dogs. I called to let them know of my delay and they reassured me of their continued care until I arrived and expressed their own concern for my safe driving. Now that’s special. I really appreciated that.
