I love this vet so much, by far the best vet I’ve ever been to. They don’t try to just medicate, they give suggestions and actually want the best for the babies. Also if you have a reckless cat like me, they don’t discriminate. I was so embarrassed with how my cat was acting but they kept telling me it was ok and they worked around it. Literally made me cry when I got in the car because I’ve never had vet so loving and understanding towards my cats.

I brought it my spicy tortoiseshell cat for a vaccine. In the past she has hid from me for days after bringing her to other vets. I told them to do what they could but she would probably be difficult. I expected it’d be very hard to give her a shot let alone do other check up procedures like trim her nails or get her weight. I got to come back with her and watch them handle her. THEY DID ALL OF THAT! WITH EASE!!! She didn’t even hide from me when we got home! I foster cats and I’ve been to so so many vet appointments at various clinics. I was so impressed with the whole staff. I would definitely recommend this place!

We are new to the practice and have been there twice ... once with each of our Boston Terriers. They were awesome in every facet! We don’t live real close, and pass numerous vets to get there, but they are worth it. Dublin (our recently rescued boy) had a corneal abrasion that was diagnosed and treated. He was then back to his peppy self in a matter of hours! I also feel their rates are fair and not inflated. Thank you to Dr John and the gang.

After 17 years at Town and Country in Olney, MD. I had to find a new Vet. (Read why on my review of T/C,) I scheduled consultations, made calls, and searched Google. My journey brought me to Highland Veterinary Hospital. After meeting I have three dogs and two cats. Today was my first appt. I was so pleased. What a great find!

Such a good community vet! My dog had allergies and the doctor and staff were upbeat and attentive and after some diagnosis and pronlem-solving, my dog feels so much better!

Our new Vet! Highland was recommended by a woman who runs a rescue from which we adopted a kitten, Angelo. The staff is so awesome; they’re very friendly and informative and will treat you and your fur babies with kindness. Dr. Gary is Amazing! He asks key questions and takes his time with his patients. He discusses options so you can make an informed decision. Another thing I’m grateful for is that their prices are very fair! ‘Though there are a number of vets close to where we live, We’re very happy to drive further out for their care.

This place is a hidden gem! The vet is great but the support staff are amazing!!! Im constantly relying on the vet techs who are like vets themselves with loads of experience. Thank you everyone at Highland, we love you and can’t recommend you enough!

I have been going to my regular vet for nearly 20 years but when I was unable to be fit in for a very concerning medical situation a day before a holiday, I called several places near me in an ever widening search and was not able to get a last minute appt. Then a vet tech at another clinic near me suggested Highland as a place where her family member was able to get a last minute appt in a similar situation. I said I'd looked online but their (Highland's) closing time was fast approaching and I wouldn't make it. She said try anyway. Well I did call and I was told to come right over even though they were on their last appt and ready to close up for the day. I was seen immediately. I got along very well with the Vet, Tech and Receptionist. Everyone was so nice to stay late for us. I got medication for my cat right away, peace of mind and not an emergency room wait and bill. I am in a somewhat similar situation as I write this and am waiting for Highland's open hours. They are a bit of a drive for me, but I am genuinely considering making Highland Vet hospital my pet's primary care provider.

Fabulous caring service. My cat had quite the skin infection. My old vet is retiring. We needed a new vet at a critical time. Dr. Gary and his staff were amazing. They immediately got down to the business of making my cat feel better and discussing many options that they could do in the office for my cat and a home treatment that I can follow. I am so relieved to find such an excellent vet and his caring staff

Highland Veterinary Hospital is an absolute GEM!! Extraordinary customer service, everything is undertaken with care, and they treat you and your furbabies like long-time friends, even if you just met! Dr. Gary, Crissy, and Rachel are fabulous! <3While visiting my father, my little pup was bitten in the paw by another dog -- Highland Veterinary Hospital was able to squeeze him in within the hour (no emergency fee), bandage him up, dispense all needed meds, AND arrange for a gratis re-bandaging appointment/check-in the next day. OH! And I accidentally left some med supplies behind and THEY MADE A HOUSECALL, driving the supplies to me! WHAT!? Why would anyone ever go anywhere else?I live in DC and I believe that I will be switching vets and making the drive when necessary -- they are just THAT good! It is obvious that everyone adores animals and they really do treat you like family.

Adopted a stray cat, and had trouble getting him in the store. The guy there went out and like the cat whisperer, managed to get him into the carrier and the store. The proceeding checkup and vaccination went so smoothly it was like magic. Definitely a place where everyone knows their stuff.

They did a good job taking care of our girl sassy, and were very polite and professional at the desk. I did overhear the doctor say our dogs test was “just going to be negative” as he put his jacket on the go home. Didn’t feel very confident about the results when the doctor is in his coat with his son in the room ready to go. Very obviously didn’t want to do the heart worm test, and never introduced himself as the doctor or his presumed son who was in our room. They never gave sassy one treat the entire visit, which maybe I’m weird but I though vets gave animals treats with shots and test. (our current one certainly does!). They did a good job taking care of our dog and were timely, it just didn’t seem like the doctor wanted to be there, and I didn’t feel any love for our baby in that room.

Finally, a Vet and Vet assistant that helped my German Shepherd!!! We switched Vets because others brushed off my pups condition. She had lost 15 pounds and was getting unhealthy. And Highland took it seriously and found the answer. Jen the assistant, and all of the front desk staff are kind and so helpful!!!! My pup is getting better and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend.

The doctor and staff members at this clinic are extremely kind and patient. My dog has anxiety when it comes to nail trimming. This is the only place that will work with us to get it done. Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs veterinary services.

We have been taking our animals to Highland for about 30 years! Dr. Gary and staff are amazing, so kind, and helpful. This is the type of place that goes above and beyond to accomodate you and your pet. Truly they are a hidden gem! If you are looking for a vet, I believe this is the best place to go and even worth a longer drive.

Truly caring veterinarian. He was very thorough and even used a Dremel tool for nail trimming for my dogs sensitive nails. My dog usually comes out of vets visibly shaken, but he was still wagging and happy after this visit.

The vet and staff are absolutely incredible they care about your dog or cat - I learned that today - I took my dog there today he had been misdiagnosed by a previous vet - the doctor and staff spent two hours taking care of the situation - now my 160 pound Newfoundland is on the road to recovery - And for a fair price👍
