Nice little store, with great customer service, the owner himself helped us to find the right sausage my husband was looking for, we love the meat selection of porterhouse, NY steak etc, and our favorite: is the rib eye. I went home and make steak for dinner, my family enjoyed very much. Boardman's is the place for me. Me encantó la tiendita, hay de todo pero lo mejor es la sección de carnes, muy buena calidad.

"Mom & Pop" style Grocery store/Butcher. The employees are awesome/friendly. They treat you like old friends and will chat with you a bit. The meat is aweome and competitively priced even agains the big grocers. IMO the quality and taste is better.

Lack of Compliance with Food Safety Guidelines:I am writing this review to bring attention a matter of critical importance regarding the adherence to food safety guidelines in the deli and meat departments.As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety, it has come to my attention that there is a failure to enforce the use of disposable gloves when in direct contact with food in the mentioned departments. This includes tasks such as preparation, serving, and packaging. It is imperative to highlight that this practice is a fundamental component of food safety protocols.Gloves play a crucial role as a barrier, significantly reducing the risk of cross-contamination and ensuring the integrity of the food in providing customers. Unfortunately, this essential practice is not being followed at Boarman's, posing a serious threat to the health and well-being of customers.Given that this is the third instance where compliance with food safety standards has been neglected, I feel compelled to take further action. I will be contacting the Board of Health to report this matter and seek their intervention to address and rectify the situation promptly.Maintaining high standards of food safety is not only a legal requirement but also a moral obligation to customers and the community served. I urge Boarman's to take immediate action to rectify this situation, ensuring that all employees in the deli and meat departments strictly adhere to the established food safety guidelines, including the proper use of disposable gloves.

I wish more places like Boarman's still existed. It's a treat going there. The sandwiches at the deli are very good and reasonably priced. The lady at the front register is very friendly and always helpful. It's amazing how much they pack into that store. And my wife loves the deviled eggs.

Great butcher and deli counter. It's the only place I get chicken and hamburger meat. Beer and wine selection is good, too.

Stoned by the other evening while visiting the area due to reviews. I wasn't impressed. The lady at the deli was very rude and was irritated that we ordered items. Most of the goods in the store were way.overpriced as well. Then we get to the condition of the building nobody would except the cleanliness or the crumbling floor in any other store. Will I go back no.

Found this business on Facebook and decided to visit - pleasantly surprised by the great selection of meat, fish, pork and poultry and the great customer service - ended up purchasing some rockfish, pork chops, short ribs and crabmeat at a great price.

Great market. I got smoked turkey legs, fresh sausage, and veggies. They are taking social distancing and cleanliness seriously. There is a sink to wash hands prior to entering.Update: I got a hot dog at the deli, and wow it was amazing

I was surprised when I entered. They sell wine! They have a small produce aisle full of fresh produce. Their meats are wonderful! Such a large selection of brats and sausage! I was surprised that their chicken was 5.99 a pound. I cooked it on the grill and it was fresh and delicious! Well worth the couple extra bucks than the supermarket chicken! Go check them out!

Saw an add on Facebook and came from Woodbine to check it out. Very nice people/ employees. I believe family owned for generations. Nice selection and variety of meats, salads and even fresh Maryland crab meat. Well worth the ride. Even received a sample of sausage after saying it was our first visit.

My second time here. I drive 30 minutes, from MoCo, to this place just to get the tomahawk steaks. Today, there were 2 gents at the meat counter. When I got there, one of them saw me and left. The other one, said hello and waited a good minute before asking me if I needed anything. I asked him that I noticed the tomahawk steaks were wrapped today but the last time they were not wrapped. Out of nowhere, the first gent who left came back and rudely responded to my question. I looked at him, and said, "I'm sorry what?" Not because I didn't understand him but because I didn't understand the anger in his tone. The second guy, who I was talking to explained the difference in the steak presentation. I thanked him and stated, well, it's my second time here and that's why I asked. I asked for 2 tomahawks and the rude guy weighed my steaks. I noticed a rack of prime rib and asked how much they are per pound and he said 19 but he was pointing at bone in ribeye, I repeated that I referring to the prime rib... In a very dismissive way, he said it's the same price. Funny! I just spent $100+ on 2 pieces of steak and he's still rude.There was a white couple waiting to be serviced and his tone, demeanor towards them was pleasant and nothing like what I experienced.I'm not coming back here!I found this place on Google while searching for places to buy tomahawks but the meat department is extremely unprofessional.Has anyone else experienced differential treatment or is it just me?2 stars for the steak!

This is a great family owned butcher shop and grocery store. Great place for the best tasting meats. They also have great produce and other things to complete your meal. Full liquor and wine selection. They always have special pre-orders before any holiday.

I work in the area and have always wanted to venture in the store after seeing what they had on the web and other advertisements like yelp. Well finally I ventured in today and I was thoroughly impressed with everything they have to offer inside. The meats from the butcher counter are beautiful and the fresh vegetables and fruits were amazing. I would highly recommend this place and although I live in Prince Georges County I will definitely be a repeat customer!! It's small but packs a powerful punch and you can find everything you want inside including beer and wine. Love it!!

This place is solid! It's not what I had expected walking in on a whim as I was driving by. It's so much goodness packed into a store, and it's especially awesome that they make sausages in-house and source what they can locally, it at least along the east coast. The store also carries a beer/liquor license unlike other places as this store has been grandfathered in with changes over the years to the laws around the MD state liquor licence. I ordered the Cuban sandwich from their deli in the back, and it was delicious as can be. I met one of their staff, Christian, who was super friendly and helpful. It's all the thing I hope to see in a grocery store plus some, and I'll be back for more goodness whenever I'm in the area.

I've been going to Boarman's for over 5 years since moving to this area. I love everything about the place, but the butcher counter is by far the best within 150 miles of this area. You can't beat walking out with a standing rib roast cut to order and a six pack or now, even a bottle of high end bourbon!!And I'm writing this review because their operations during COVID have been impressive. They might not be the size or scale of the big box grocers in the area, but they are more consistent at having everything stocked and their operations during Thanksgiving proved their attention to detail.I love this place and hope it continues to stay a family-owned and operated local store for generations to come.

I went to Boarman’s for the first time today; I am very impressed. I was looking for beef short ribs and I must say I found them! I spoke with a gentlemen on the phone before I arrived and he told me their short ribs were very meaty with good marbling; he did not exaggerate. I was pleased with my purchase and will be returning. I have been to more than two stores looking for the quality I found at Boarman’s. I won’t look any further.

The best Italian sub I've had since moving to Maryland from New Jersey. The turkey and roast beef subs were great too. Wonderful selection of items. Definitely worth a stop!

Great little old country store. Staff are very helpful in navigating the isles to find what you need. Butcher’s counter always has good cuts of meat and prepared dishes like crab cakes. If you have a dog, this is a good place to pick up large raw bones for recreational chewing (like femurs for large breed dogs).

Staff are friendly and inviting. They have the best meats around! Try the country sausage and the burger blend ground beef. They have an excellent selection of items from fresh meats, seafood, vegetables, and more. Large selection of wines if that is your thing. Highly recommended.

This place has the best hot Italian chicken sausages I've ever had. Their pork Italian sausages are also very good. The meat counter is fully stocked - beef, chicken, seafood (including crab cakes), and pork. Fresh deli meat and sides. A true country store, it has everything from alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, cleaning supplies, bread, fruits/veggies, and ice cream. They are taking COVID very seriously - you must wash your hands before entering (no gloves). Masks must be worn at all times. If necessary, the number of people in the store will be limited. Great place!!!

I luv visiting this small family-owned market. They have homemade meats, sandwiches, salads, etc. Their wine selection is rather good & their local produce is always fresh. The staff is extremely friendly & they go out of their way 2 help the customers. I especially like 2 pick up the Happier mag, HoCoMoFreddie's Trading Post & Route 108 newspapers.

I just had the worst experience ever trying to pick up my turkey from Boarmans. I ordered a 24 pound turkey via phone. Clerk never mentioned a range of weight. I asked price and she said 3.29 a pound which was a little steep but I said okay. I go to pick it up and they keep offering me turkeys but saying..oh you can't have it because it is not in your weight range. I said what range she said 24-29 pounds. They found a 23.75 pound turkey and they would not give it to me. Instead they wanted to give me a 28 pound turkey which I did not order. I asked can you please find a smaller turkey and they refused. A customer offered me his 10# turkey (what a great guy) but it was too small for my family. I said, "28 + pounds is too big for me. " They said, Good luck finding a turkey. How terrible is that?

I pop by this place almost every week for their lunch specials and ogle the butchered goods in the back. Their meats always look fresh and the cuts are generously sized. The deli is great. Staff is polite and quick. Get there right around noon to avoid a long line and then peruse the local goods in the aisles. They have a small selection of veggies and fruits but I usually fall for the snacks aisle. They get a great selection of small company snack foods that feature all natural, no HMO / GMO etc etc. It's great if you're looking for something healthier than a bag of chips to nibble on.

Best market around. I shop there nearly everyday! Owners and staff are helpful and kind. Prices are competitive and the fresh meats and homemade sausage are fantastic. Boarmans make great sandwiches and a wonderful deli counter. Enjoy!
