May 17 there was one cashier, 3 self checks available. lines were long, I waited too long for price check on produce that was 3 for $3 because bar code was missing so I had the self check clerk cancel what didnt ring up & I walked out. Customers waiting was saying how ridiculous the situation was. The self check clerk apologized but I told her it wasn't her fault & honestly she shouldnt be put in that type of situation & neither should customers. I'll spend my money at Giant where they seem to care about their employees & customers.

Excellent customer service at registers and in the Starbucks area, superb florist department! I only shop at this Safeway for my flowers needs in the entire DMV area. Florist Department team needs to be recognized and rewarded because they go above and beyond!

Terrible. Every time I go in there, the carts are all out in the parking lot, not in the entrance, or they’re out of bags. Today, I went in there and they had no hand baskets. Where’s the courtesy clerk? Customer Service is unattended and the manager is off snuggling with the Starbucks people. This Safeway used to be nice but the quality of the produce and customer service has gone way down.im going to Giant.

Don’t try to use the pickup service at this store. I ordered on the website and called the number on the sign when I arrived. No one answered, and the voice mailbox was full. I went into the store, and it took 15 minutes to get someone to give me my groceries. 2 items were out of stock (obviously they don’t keep the stock up to date on the website) and one item wrong—it was the ‘No sodium’ version of what I’d actually ordered. I’d used this service once before at the Waldorf store with no problem, but I won’t be trying it again at this store.

If you go on Sunday you can get a good deal on meats, especially chicken breasts, usually marked down. I get family packs for about 5 bucks

The cashiers and staff are always polite and helpful. The produce, deli & meat dept are are point. They do have a theft problem with people walking in and grabbing items by the entryway and leaving. Not sure what can be done but I've seen it twice.

It’s always something with this location as it pertains a pick up order. Almost every time I receive a message “ Safeway: Apologies, your pickup order is running behind schedule but we'll notify you as soon as it's ready.”This is an inconvenience all the way around the board. Most people choose their pick up time according to their availability and This places always drops the ball.

Worst grocery store in the area. Terrible customer service, most of the employees are rude, have attitudes and ignore you or don’t acknowledge you when you speak to them.Like seriously, how is this place still open?!The produce is rotting and they have expired food on the shelves.To management seriously, get your employees in check and retrain them to have at least SOME manners. It’s incredibly disheartening being mistreated/disrespected by our own Community.It’s insane that Maryland residents need to travel to VIRGINIA to getquality customer service or quality food.SRSLY Get it together.

I almost forgot coming here, but there’s a lady in this store who’s really commendable. She has lovely smile and immense patience with all my questions. Carrisma, thank you for all your help, it was so busy the other day but you still manage to help me with the stuff I needed! Great service. Safeway, you got a gem in you!

I already love going to Safeway but this location is the best among all. Excellent and superb customer service!!! The staff give you space but ensure they are readily available for any questions. Customer service is really one of the best I have experienced ever!

I have to give the frozen food section. The one I even put a $9 box of reeses ice cream cone. It comes 10 in about. I would never, ever ever by ice cream from there again. Look at the video I just posted. That is embarrassing and there's managers general managers. People that come in to look at the refrigerators and they don't see this. Wow it makes you wonder about the rest of the food that's in there

Great place, management is wonderful. Deli department is on point. The young man working it went out of his way to help and elderly lady and answer the many questions she had to include alot of dietary needs. He was patient with her, and you could tell he was happy to help. Things you see people do bring wonderment and amazement to me still.

Do Not Enter! This is the worst grocery store in the area. I lived in the area for years and could walk here. Instead I would drive 10-20 minutes to the nearest grocery store. Their produce was always going bad, products expired, and customer service is atrocious. If the other locals would stop shopping here for convenience they might do the right thing and shut this place down.

I had rx at clinton, they transferred to Swan Creek. I called Swan Creek and they said it was there, then I told them I was on my way to pick it up(on Nov 28 3:30 pm aporox.) I have no one to help me w my Disabled spouse, I went to Swan Creek in less than an hours. They said it was just transferred to Clinton.Then today at 12 I went to Clinton. They said it is at Swan Creek!!

I just came from this Store.2/14/2021, at about 3:30pm.Employee not wearing mask properly while stocking shelves in isle 18.(Ft. Washington store)06/30/2022- Store has been remodeled. Not a good variety of produce. Nope.03/09/24- Now you bring your own bags so I had mine in my cart. Stopped by bathroom to wash my hands, only gone a minute, when got back to my cart, bag was gone!! Pretty bad when people steal grocery bags.

Manu products items were bad. A bag of New York Apples all bag. I couldn't over a dozen mandarins by peelz and others were rotten and molded. Trash and have your employees inspect Safeway.

Wow, I can't believe how inefficient and disorganized this store is. The average cashier can only serve one customer per hour? That's ridiculous. And if you need something like baby formula, you have to wait half an hour for the manager to show up?I'd recommend just using the self checkout, even if there's a long line, because at least you'll be able to get out of there faster. This store needs to get its act together.Gotta give them credit where it’s due. Their steak and beef in general is very good when butchered the same day.

The Fort Washington Safeway has been getting better over the years. The prices are high but competitive. The staff at the front end are friendly for the most part. The manager, Charisma, is especially friendly and always willing to assist with a smile. With service like this, I will always shop here.

I went to this store yesterday (11/6/22) to use the cornstar machine. I had 70 dollars worth of coins and a bill to pay. Using the cornstar machine was great, no problems, but trying to find someone to cash it was a nightmare.I didn't know customer service was closed for the day. So I looked at my cornstar recept and it clearly says, cash out at any cashier at this store. So I thought, okay let me get in the check out line and get this cashed. Not a chance. A trainee asked other employee if they do it at the check out line, they said they don't and only customer service can. Which is not true, but whatever. They could've offer an manager or suggest something else I can do since this was a one day thing and I could only do it at this store. So I waited but i decided to leave because my head was starting to hurt and this was unprofessional. I remember I did coinstar cash out before in the check out line and it wasn't such an issue. Don't bother with this store unless you really have too. At least with customer service.

My husband and I stopped in to pick up some makings for our salad. The store was cleaned, veggies were fresh, working staff had smiles, greeted us, friendly atmosphere and our sale check out clerk/representative, Ms. Jacki was very nice and we love the new shopping bags, they were more manageable and better quality to re use <thicker material>

I was extremely disappointed in the "global aisle" and the customer service experience was horrible. An employee was assisting me and as soon as a white lady walked up and interrupted us in mid sentence, he cut me off and walked off with her. I'll be damned. They didn't have I wanted because my country was not apart of the global selection except for jerk sauce 😤 😒.

I have witnessed a significant improvement and experience at the store over the last year. Major renovations have been completed and at least two underway for - Starbucks and the floral section of the store. From my perspective, the produce section has a quality selection, as do meats and seafood. The manager and store staff are doing a great job, making major progress, and for these actions --I applaud them.

High prices and poor customer service. Rarely does this store have more than three registers open. This has been the case in the 20 yrs I’ve shopped here. They have a limited selection and prices much higher than Walmart and Target for the same items. Therefore, I shop at this store for last minute needs only. There are little to no keto products sold here however I find it interesting that I can find many keto options available at Virginia Safeway stores.

I rated 4 stars because they make it right in the end. I ordered a cake on Tuesday for a retirement ceremony on Friday. That should be enough time to prepare the cake. I called on Wednesday to check on the price of the cake so I can be reimbursed, and the person remembers me because he is the one who took my order. I came to the store to pick up my order, and I was given a small round shape rather than the 1/2 sheet as I ordered. Fortunately, Jessie (I believe his name was) is the manager on duty at that time and go above and beyond to make it right. He promised the cake to be delivered to my location before the retirement ceremony. Tina, the Deli Manager drove all the way to my location. The picture here is the happy face behind the face mask. She served the company for 37 years, and she deserved to enjoy her favorite "Strawberry Shortcake". A lesson to learn here, as much as I appreciate the discount or complimentary, but I would appreciate it more for the employee to pay attention next time. It might not matter to them, but it matters to the customer. Thank you to the two competent managers for making it right and saving my day!

Pharmacy is a disaster.You could get better service from someone selling pharmaceuticals out of the trunk of their car in the parking lot.Specifics:1. If this pharmacy says they’ll contact your healthcare provider about a refill: check. And check again. Check again. Best to physically go to your MD, get the paper, deliver it to this pharmacy. See 3.2. Customers who wait their turn in line should expect to wait while the counter person addresses questions/conversations/issues from store customers previously served or walking by. Pro tip: feel free to ask questions/make conversation regardless if there’s a customer at the register.3. Common medications may be unavailable at this pharmacy. Best to ask for refills weeks in advance. This will enable the pharmacy to tell you it’s too early for a refill. Waiting 3-4 days before your prescription runs out will allow this pharmacy to tell you they need to order it.4. If vaccines are being administered, try your attempt to get a prescription filled another day. Ditto if the pharmacist is on the phone, looking at a computer monitor, sitting or wearing anything blue or white.

Safeway supermarket is organized well and always kept clean. Whoever is hiring screens well and chooses pleasant people. There prices and products are priced fair considering food/drink prices are out of control! If you buy store brand most everything I have purchased is up to par. I hope more Safeways are established in more towns and states.
