Today is the last day CVS gets my business. Worst experiences at the pharmacy and most unhelpful pharmacy staff at Damascus. Wasted enough time being treated disrespectfully and getting upset. Too many bad experiences which means nothing changes. Bye CVS.

I am appalled at how this store treated me the past two days. I have been going to CVS in damascus before I was able to fill my own prescriptions. I finally accepted that I have severe ADHD and took a prescription for it. I came to CVS in Damascus (that I’ve been going to my entire life) and was told they have my meds in stock (national shortage) and the techs had no problem filling them. I also inquired if other medications I requested to be filled were available. Yoon Jung Kwon told the technicians not to fill my ADHD medication because it wasn’t in stock. The technician asked me if I’m ok paying out of pocket for the brand name instead of generic. I said sure. Yoon Jung Kwon Shook her head again and said they were out of stock as well. I gave up and asked for my prescriptions. I was then told my anti anxiety meds I’ve been getting filled at the same pharmacy for 12+ years cannot be filled because it’s a “new fill.” At this point I became highly upset and asked to have a list of my medications printed out. They only printed out what I had filled on my current insurance; NOT my full history. From there I asked if I call doctor and have him verify his rx, would they fill it? Yoon Jung Kwon Told me sure but there’s a computer glitch and I would have to come back the following day. I left out the fact that she screamed my medication list and name in front of clients, completely violating HIPAA law. Fast forward to the following day. I come back with a new written Rx. I’m told by Yoon Jung Kwon again that it’s cvs policy that they cannot issue brand name drugs through my ex unless it’s written properly. I drive all the way down to Rockville (my psychiatrist was on my phone the entire time arguing the law with this “woman”) to get the new re written prescription that the specifically told my doctor how to write. On my way back, the office manager at my practice told me that Yoon Jung Kwon told her that she would not fill anything for me and I’m wasting my time. My psychiatrist chewed her out and filed a complaint to the maryland board of pharmacy. I have basically been banned from picking up any Rx from my hometown because the new pharmacist Yoon Jung Kwon damascus hired (who allegedly got ran out of hyattsville for being racist) thinks I’m a drug addict even though my new medication is by THE SAME PROVIDER that has been treating me since 2010. I’m literally traumatized and was denied speaking to a manager or dealing with a different pharmacist…

THIS PHARMACY has emotionally driven "policies" placed and enforced by emotionally driven women. No logic, at all, to a policy that discriminates against contractors requiring them to come inside instead of being attended to at the window like everyone else. If you go inside after being refused service at the window, you might find yourself asking why this idiotic "policy" exists. Their response will be, LITERALLY, "it's what we're most comfortable with". How, pray tell, would making a contractor coming inside after being refused service at the window make anyone feel more comfortable? The process is exactly the same as it would be at the window! They don't ask for ID, they don't ask for any additional information inside. It's just an inconvenience to the contractor. And, if anything, it's creating a PROBLEM where there need only be good customer service and alacrity. Every other CVS PHARMACY with drive thru service treats contractors just like any other customer and without discrimination. This pharmacy needs some male leadership to get things running a little more smoothly.

Frustrating experience. There is more than one pharmacist. One is very accommodating the other has no customer service or kindness in her response to requests. They also are put out but request. I asked for a Covid kit from drive through when I had symptoms and I was told to calm the store and have them bring it to their pharmacist and then drive through when it was there to pick up. Why aren’t the Covid kits at the pharmacy, why couldn’t they ask for someone in their department or store bring the test to them. Unbelievable. Apparently they don’t need to be Kind. Bring Stephanie McDaniela back or address this issue.

Worst experience ever! Pharmacist would not transfer prescription to Weis even when CVS was out of the prescription. Even CVS Corporate could not get them to do it! The Weis Pharmacy was willing to help me in the end! Moving all my business to Weis. Damascus CVS is the worst

The pharmacy staff is a joke. Rude, disorganized and unprofessional. There’s on old hag there that I can’t even deal with anymore because of her poor service and past incidents. Recently, they put a rogue pill into a script for my wife that we didn’t know what it was. Just awful stay away.

CVS did not have the prescription that was needed for my incredibly ill child. So I found another brand pharmacy that did have it in stock. That competitor pharmacy called to get the prescription transferred and Damascus CVS told them that they were "too busy" to transfer the prescription. CVS told the other pharmacy to "call back when we are less busy." The other pharmacy explained that they did not know when that would be and then asked CVS what they are supposed to tell the customer (me). CVS told the other pharmacy that they needed to call back when they were less busy. When the pharmacist at the competitive pharmacy overheard the issues, she got on the phone and was told the same thing. She then asked the person from CVS "So are you refusing to send this prescription to us?" The person from CVS said, " I guess so" and hung up. That is appalling.I called and spoke to the shift manager. She listened to my story and then asked me to see if another another CVS pharmacy had the prescription in stock (instead of using the competitor pharmacy). WHAT?!? I explained that I called multiple pharmacies and found one that had it in stock. I said that I was NOT going to call other CVS' when I, as the patient, have the right to do business with any pharmacy of my choosing. She apologized and told me that they would transfer the prescription immediately. I went to the other pharmacy and waited for the prescription to be filled. The other pharmacy did NOT receive the prescription transfer, and this was 45 minutes later. Since the prescribing doctor's office was now back from their lunch hour, I had them call a NEW prescription to my NEW pharmacy. I will not be returning to CVS Damascus. I WILL drive a 5-10 miles to be treated better with their competitor. I refuse to throw my money to a company (or location) that does not care about their customers. Their lack of care and concern for their patients, especially my incredibly ill child, was loud and clear today. Bye, Felicia.

Had a script reflect that it was ready and waiting. Went to the store, was told it was in Germantown. Went to Germantown and was told it was at the Damascus CVS. I return to Damascus CVS and the lady that helps me tells me again my script is in Germantown. I tell her the Germantown office is telling me the same thing. Lady turns to another CVS employee and says, "Tell this guy I'm not an idiot and its in the system" and walks off. Neither take any initiative to delve any deeper.

Deeply unprofessional, disorganized and some of the pharmacists are incredibly rude. CVS as a whole is to avoided. But wow. I called in a prescription on behalf of someone at my clinic job, wow. I have never dealt with such a disrespectful pharmacist over the phone in my life.

I’ve always had a great experience in the pharmacy department at this CVS, whether in the drive thru or inside. If you bring your dog in the drive thru, they’ll give them treats! Inside is pleasant as well and I appreciate that the employees go above and beyond to get the best price for me. They’ve been able to find deeply discounted coupons on several different medications for me on various occasions which have saved me hundreds or probably thousands by now.

I have to do vitamin b12 injections for the rest of my life do to a surgery I had. I was out of town and the CVS pharmacy in Damascus, MD refused to sell me a syringe when I left mine at home. I went to another pharmacy down the road and was able to purchase one with NO problem what so ever. The CVS staff was rude and unhelpful. I will not return.

Absolutely horrendous customer service! There is always some issue with medication being filled. Orders take up to two weeks longer than expected. I was told 2 days on one medication that was ordered after 2 weeks with no communication from the pharmacy I took all my prescriptions to Safeway. One month later CVS contacted me to tell me they were ordering my medication... they had told me a month before it has been ordered. Pharmacy staff is the most unprofessional, condescending, over all rude staff I’ve ever encountered! I will say with the exception of Caitlyn. She is always apologetic and polite.

Update: 5/16/19I appreciate Kaitlyn and Isabel. They are very helpful and friendly. Love getting my medications here. They will do everything to help you get your meds on time. Also, easy to talk to and no problem.Old feedback below:My whole family goes to CVS in Damascus, MD because we have had a consistent Pharmacist who had done a great job every single time. Her name us Mary. Mary is such an excellent Pharmacist! She is respectful and have been a great asset there at that location. She is reliable and thorough and never failed to make every customer satisfied with their experience. So we are now loyal customers for good! Switch your prescriptions there at CVS.

I was in CVS Pharmacy this evening and I witnessed rude, discourteous and disrespectful treatment of another customer. The customer was literally in tears and obviously angry. It got to the point where one pharmacy tech (older white woman) was yelling at the customer extremely loudly. Personally I've always terrible service at this pharmacy and this is not the first time I have witnessed customers be treated in a rude and condescending manner. Very unprofessional! It's not like we are purchasing a pack of gum. These are in many cases life sustaining medications. Employees, especially the pharmacists could take the extra mile. This will be the last time I patronize this location. Do yourself a favor and pick your medications up elsewhere.

Terrible customer service.!!! Use a different pharmacy chain. Pharmacy Tech, Diane is NOT most honest person and female Pharmacist on duty corroborated her lie. I called the pharmacy this evening and tech answered and placed me on hold for 32 minutes and 20 seconds. I told her I felt like they forgot about me. Diane then proceeded to tell me, "No calls came in, no phone rang and no one was on hold." I know Halloween is two days away, but there is no apparition here. My call was answered and immediately I was placed on hold by technician. The unnamed Pharmacist comes on the phone at 35 minutes and 28 seconds. She refused to give her name and corroborates the technician story. For another 4 minutes she was adamant that no calls came into pharmacy, now 40 minutes into the call. Please customers are not all liars and a telephone call times are not fabricated. I understand if you are busy. Just admit it and apologize. Do not tell customer who has been waiting for 32 minutes on hold that it is all an illusion.

Called the pharmacy in reference to a shingles vaccine. The time was 1230. I was told that I could get right in for an appointment if I was there by 130. Arrived at 103 and was told that lunch was from 130 -200 and would have to come back at 230. I will be switching all my family prescriptions to another business.

Terrible service and very rude. I have never had a good experience with this location. If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and find a different location! This review is for the pharmacy not the store in general.

My store experience is always pleasant, however my pharmacy experience is ALWAYS delayed even when I get a text message saying it’s ready for pickup. The extended wait and return never fails. It’s ever single time. I’m a household of 6 and 4 of us have regular medications to be field and it’s always delayed 😕

Re pharmacy, CVS has been our main pharmacy for many years. But the local pharmacy has had consistently poor service for several years, including orders hardly ever being available on time, and so we are not using the pharmacy much any more. Very disappointing, as we like to support local businesses.

I've always had a good experience at this CVS. The pharmacist has always done her best to help me out which is terrific as I am only here a few months of the year. Everyone has been kind even when busy and there usually is a wait.

Half the pharmacy are wearing masks under their noses. You'd think they'd know better. We've been doing this for 2 years. I understand it's uncomfortable but you won't get used to it until you try. Got no response when I asked about it. I was ignored.

Two days ago I contacted the pharmacy on Lewis Dr Damascus because they auto-refilled my medication. I recently moved to a different city so I don't get the meds from this location anymore. Trying to be nice so I called in telling them I won’t be able to pick it up. I went ahead try to get refill from CVS in my current location. However they didn’t carry the brand I’ve been taking for five years. I called this store in Damascus and the girl named Katie answered the phone, who was impatient and rude. I was confused about the medication during the phone call. Instead of trying to help me find out what was the issue. She told her coworker"ugh omg, this lady Zhang..." with an impatient and unprofessional tone. I heard over the phone as she was talking to her coworker (she also mentioned someone named Brian). I know sometimes work can be frustrated and customers can be irritated (I worked as customer service once so I know). I wasn't rude or disrespect her, or any kind. Just trying to get the right medication. And now after pick up my med I'll never go back to this store. If I can give zero star that will be it.

The tech in the pharmacy is always rude and acts like if this job kills her daily. Asked for her name and she refused. Every time I’ve come to this pharmacy and she’s here she’s JUST RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. If there was another pharmacy close by I would go there instead of coming to this pharmacy that’s just how bad she is.

Pharmacy opens at 9 on Saturday, but not today. No one can be in the pharmacy without a pharmacist so when they don't show up for their shift you can't get your medicine. Lucky for me I don't need mine to live. Complete ridiculousness. You have one job to do. They suggested I go to another CVS and have it transferred. Because the inconvenience of having to drive to the local pharmacy to pick up a prescription should be made even MORE inconvenient by driving to another CVS in another town and waiting there for them to fill it and then drive all the way back home. I hope someone lost their job. I'll be changing pharmacies after this gets filled.

This pharmacy regularly takes 5-6 hours to fill a prescription. Have had multiple promised by 2-3pm, come to pick them up at 6-7pm and told they are just starting to work on them and it will be 20-30 more minutes. Absolutely horrid.

Most times we come to this location the pharmacy staff is rude and condescending. Unfortunately our insurance will only cover our meds at CVS and we are stuck with this pharmacy. If you have a choice of other pharmacies go somewhere else.

I had stopped coming in here for a while, but had to stop in for something the other day. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised. The store seems a lot cleaner and more organized and the staff are now helpful and friendly. I'm not sure what happened, but it's a great change. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing!
