I can't say enough good things about Happy Tails Pet Resort in Millersville, MD! The staff there is incredibly friendly and their love for animals is evident in everything they do. Whenever we're away, we eagerly await the report cards they provide, which serve as proof of life and guarantee that our beloved pets are having a blast. Over the years, we've entrusted multiple dogs to their care, and they have consistently been in good hands. Happy Tails is not just a business driven by profit; it's a genuine labor of love for animals. Their commitment to renovating and improving the grounds throughout our years of patronage is a testament to their dedication. Best doggy daycare and boarding facility anywhere ..30 acres, never crated (unless drying after bath) clean, reasonable pricing, excellent staff, video cameras on outside play yards, new dog park, over 20 years of best business practices..

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. Upon drop off the office staff was nice and assured me she would have a safe stay. My dog stayed for two days. When I picked her up she looked wet and reeked of urine! Her eyes were swollen shut, red, and leaking of disgusting discharge. She had bruising on her skin and looked overall unwell. I asked the office staff about it and they said nothing happened and she would be fine. But something must have happened based on the condition they returned my dog! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! This is not a pet friendly establishment.

This is an awesome place to bring your pet, if you can't take them with you while on vacation. They loved my fur baby like she was one of their own. I received a report card of how she was doing, and you might be able to catch them on live web cam. It definitely puts you at ease when you are not with your pet. I will be back and have recommended them to others. Great staff and very friendly.

I send my 60lb labradoodle to them anytime i go away on vacation or just need a break for a day. Hes been there up to 10 days before while i was away and there were no mishaps or accidents. The whole team cares for the dogs like they are their own. I even had a time where i thought i booked a reservation and was leaving for vacation that day but the system showed the reservation was accidentally canceled. I was distraught since i was due to get on a plane that day and had no back up care. They were able to move some things around and still accommodate him for the week. I like how he is put in a group with dogs that have his same energy and play level. The staff is very attentive to him and i love getting the daily report card pictures letting me know he's ok and having fun. Prices are also good with a variety of extra activites compared to other dog resorts. I live 40min away and will make the drive just to know my dog is in the best hands.

$3,000 Emergency Vet Bill after their care. Our dog was throwing up blood and had bloody diarrhea less than 24 ours after their care. They DO NOT provide air conditioning for the dogs. I'm going to start there. We had no idea. Our dogs were there a week. We did pay for an hour of play time for both of our dogs each day. The thing is it was WAY TO HOT for them to play that long in the sun to go back to a hot kennel and never truly cool off. The Emergency Vet told us we can't prove it was from heat exhaustion, but they feel it was the cause. He was totally healthy when we dropped him off. Buyer beware!!!

Pretty disappointed.Our first two times using them there were no incidents. The third time, we picked her up, she was showing signs of having contracted Kennel cough. We took her to the vet the next day, and they diagnosed her as indeed having Kennel cough. I called to notify them of the situation AND cancel our next reservation, 5 days from then, because they would not board her while she was taking the medication. They did not seem concerned that our vaccinated dog caught kennel cough from being there. We used them another weekend, deciding to give them a second chance, with no incidents. But this last reservation, will be our last with them. We traveled to SC for vacation. Two days before the end of our vacation, they called around 5:30 pm to notify us that our dog had been vomiting. They told us it was bile. They did not seem concerned at the time of the first call, and asked if they could give her some pepto to calm her stomach. They mentioned she may have drank some of the dog pool water. We told them yes; they told us they would monitor her and keep us updated. Fifteen minutes later they call asking if we had someone who could come get our dog to take her to the vet because she had vomited again. Panicked, being 8 hours away, and after closing time for our regular vet, we scrambled to find a friend to help us. We were able to make arrangements for her to be seen at the emergency vet. While our friend was transporting the dog, they had officially checked her out of the facility, emailing me the charges for her stay. We had not discussed her being checked out, should everything be ok at the vet. She arrived at the vet in stable condition, vitals normal. They ran her blood work, again normal. They also informed me that she was dehydrated so they were going to give her some fluids. She was eating fine with no vomiting. They kept her overnight and notified me the next morning that she was able to be released ($1500). Our last day of vacation, we paid an additional $250 at the emergency vet for our dog to be kept until the afternoon, so we could arrange for her transportation home, and for someone to stay with her until we returned the next day.Forty-eight hours after the incident, we have not had a courtesy call from them, to check on our dog.

Wonderful Pet Resort!! Very friendly staff with lots for the dogs to do. They had Pet report cards they shared everyday with us while we were away missing our dog with lots of pictures and activities of the day. That made it very special!! Dog Cams weren't working this time due to a prior storm but it's nice they have them too! Looking forward to having our dog stay there again soon!

Our dogs have been there three times now. When we drop them off, they are very excited; I think that means they have a good time.The folks at the desk seem to really like dogs and they listened to us about how to make them more comfortable.While we're away, we get photos from their playtime, which showed them having fun. On our return, they seem happy and not anxious, which is a good sign.It seems to be good all around.

Great experience! Had our dog boarded for a couple days and he LOVED it (based on all the pictures).He did come back pretty dirty, but likely because it had been raining both days he was there. Might be worth adding a grooming next time!

We dropped our dog off to stay for a couple of days during a baseball tournament we attended in an adjacent town. This was the first time we had to board our dog, and the overall experience was good enough, however, we returned on a Sunday to pick up our little Toby around 11:30am. The facility didn’t open until noon, but when we dropped Toby off on Friday, we were told that we could come pick him up on any day before noon to avoid being charged for an additional day. The staff failed to mention that Sunday was not included as one of those days. We showed up on Sunday at 11:30 and had to sit and wait half an hour in the parking lot before we could get our dog. I personally explained to the staff what was told to us when we dropped the dog off and that we had a 7 hour drive home, but they were unable to accommodate us and we were forced to wait until noon. Our dog seemed to have a good experience, but the lack of willingness to accommodate us (after failing to mention that we couldn’t pick up Toby before 12pm on Sunday) and being put behind schedule for our long drive home was a real issue.

I absolutely love this place, I highly recommend it. It's the only place we will board our four dogs. Very clean inside and out, very friendly and lovable staff. They will send you pictures and videos of your pet to your phone. And it has very reasonable rates. I will never take my dog anyplace else.

My wife and I were going to be boarding here but we will now never board our dogs there. We sent I our vaccine reports November 29th and was told they were good to go. Well the day we are supposed to leave out of town an hour before dropping them off this places calls us and tells us our dogs are missing vaccines and if we were able to get them the shots we could board them. Well while we are trying to find some place to give them shots they canceled our reservation without calling us. When we called them they said "not our jobs to make sure your dogs are vaccinated. Will tell everyone I know to avoid this place. Will post this review everywhere I can.

My dog is happy to see me leave! No better feeling for a parent of a dog or child, than to see your little one be happy to stay at daycare. They welcome him by name and when we pick him up he's too tired to even do his usual jumping. I've never had a problem with them and feel very assured that he is having a good time.

I will never use this place again! I understand that the dogs have a choice to go to the outside part of their pen however it should be more monitored to make sure they are getting enough water or that you cut them off from being outside for too long. My parents and I just came back from our week vacation and pick up my dog who turns out to be throwing up every time he tries to drink water. We ended up taking him to the ER vet and spent $1500 to find out he was severely dehydrated. I understand due to COVID you may not be able to watch every dog 24/7 but still do your job! Or say you can only take a certain number of dogs to better take care of the dogs you have! This is unacceptable and I will never bring my dog or my parent’s dog here ever again. The pictures looked great of his report card. Little did I know you weren’t maintaining their water enough or left them outside in their lens too long. Don’t know because we can’t see them unless they are in the yards.

Our family is so grateful for Happy Tails. Our girl has been going here to a year and enjoys herself. The staff is great, friendly, professional and all dog owners/lovers. We have peace of mind when our girl goes to daycare as we know staff is taking great care of our family.

My Freyja loves this place. She is happy to see me when I get back but they take really good care of her when I am away. Highly recommend the Playful Pup package with daily walks, social playtime with other pups, and ice cream treat before bed.

The front desk staff was rude and unprofessional. Our dog was traumatized by her stay here. She typically loves going to dog boarding places where she can play with other dogs and is visibly happy when she gets in the car to go home with us. After her stay here, she was visibly shaken and wanted to get out of that place as soon as possible. She tried to jump into the trunk of our car (which is a Corolla, i.e. not the type of car where the dog can ride in the trunk) the second we opened it up to put her food away. She has literally never done that before. That's when we knew something wasn't right. It was really pitiful.When we picked her up, she was wet and reeked of dog waste (please note, she is fully potty trained and has been for quite some time). Furthermore, she has NEVER had problems with fleas before, and she was covered in fleas after leaving this place. We are still trying to get them off of her. If you love your dog, please don't make the same mistake we did and let your pup stay at Happy Tails.

Friendly staff, got to know us and our dog quickly. Plus, we have a rescue who is very reactive toward other dogs on walks (despite basic obedience training, treats, news leash, gentle leader), and they knew exactly what to do. Now she has lots of friends there and gets fun socialization twice per week. :)

Groobie had a great time. She got a bath and spent a few days there while we were moving. They have nice exercise yards for the dogs to play in. The only thing that would have made her stay better was if they trimmed nails, but it is super affordable, so I will take it.

I've been taking my dog to daycare there for roughly 6 months now. I haven't had a bad experience yet and they are reasonably priced. They treat my dog excellently and she has grown to adore them. Could not recommend them more.
