My 2 English bulldogs stayed overnight for the first time at Crownsville Canine. The staff was exceptional from start to finish! Drop off and pick up were easy. The facility is amazingly clean! They got a bath and nail trim while they were there. They came home clean and smelling great! I enjoyed seeing their happy faces on the Facebook page while I was away. They will definitely be returning for another stay. Thank you Crownsville Canine for taking such good care of my pups!

I was so nervous to leave my anxious pup for an entire week. Crownsville Canine took special care of my dog and was reassuring through the process. They respected his boundaries and worked with his specific needs. I cannot thank the staff enough! He even came home with the cutest haircut. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Response: I tried posting this review after our visit but Google wouldn’t post it. Regardless of when I posted the review it still happened. I am not the first person to mention my dogs coming home covered in their own filth. Who would be happy that their dog is covered in pee!? I should have been more vocal about my dog smelling terrible and dripping in pee but why would your staff think it’s acceptable to hand over a dog in that condition. Your website does mention doggy daycare and the app mentions cameras and pictures. I was just happy to get my dogs out of there so there was no point saying anything to the girls at the desk…plus they could see and smell them for themselves. Anyway, I’ll thankfully never be back. Hopefully, you are able to take these negative reviews and make changes to your facility.The building is super nice and the lady I spoke to on the phone to schedule was great. Everything seemed like “royalty” as advertised. Drop off was okay. My dogs stayed for 5 days. It was their first time ever staying in a kennel. I thought that we got pictures and live cams on the app during their stay but I guess that’s for daycare. Whatever, I can get over that.I was shocked when I picked my dogs up. The two girls at the front weren’t friendly. When my first dog came out she looked wet. When she got close she smelled terrible and was not happy like she usually is. We made a comment about her smell and the two girls looked at each other but didn’t say anything…just went to get my other dog. They didn’t care one bit. She was saturated in urine…she is potty trained so it’s very alarming that my sweet dog was not taken care of like “royalty” as the business advertised. Makes me wonder the conditions the dogs are kept in.My other dog also smelled bad but not as terrible. When we got home they both got baths and our second dog had poop stuck to his butt.It saddens me that I put my dogs in such terrible care. Nothing was royalty about the care my dogs received. Maybe they need more staff or staff that will treat the animals in their care like their own. If you care about your pets, then you should find a different place to board your pet.

We drive past several other facilities to bring our dog here for grooming and boarding from Stevensville MD. The facilities are spotless and spacious. Everyone that works there is passionate about the dogs and it shows. Rachel is super nice and goes out of her way to accommodate us and our schedule.

I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful this place is. I board my Brussels there and I am able to have peace of mind that he is well taken care of. The staff is so polite and the owner has a clean and wonderful facility. I came in on a whim one day for a tour and Rachelle was happy to show me around, I was blow away by how upscale this place is! Every time Mac goes for a stay he is always excited and when I pick him up he is always clean and happy! I wouldn’t trust my baby with anyone else.

Crownsville Canine has always taken great care of our German Shepherd! He is very dog reactive, so I wanted to make sure I could find a place that could keep him separate from other dogs. Crownsville Canine does a great job of keeping him separate but also allowing him to have his own playtime outside. He loves going there and everyone has always been so great!

Friendly and pleasant staff, however I boarded my two dogs there at Crownsville canine for three nights. My dogs are very well house trained they try to get your attention to let you know they need to go outside (This explains all the dogs constantly barking when you are in the facility). My dogs are on a typical schedule, they eat in the morning, and within 30 minutes they go out and walk. They’ll pee and poop and then they don’t need to go out again until about 10 hours later, at which time they will pee. Later I would feed them and then before night, I would take them out and let them walk and they would have a poop and pee again. Obviously they do not walk the dogs at this facility or let them out because both of my dogs as soon as I took them out ran to pee and one had to pee and poop. In addition, after 11 years for the first time, my male dog just stood in the middle of the floor and urinated which suggests somebody had not been putting them on any kind of schedule to use the bathroom. I was told when I went to pick up my dogs that they had had to give my female a bath and that’s why she would be wet, but I also touched the male and he was wet. She said the female had had urine on her belly and all on the front of her body so that’s a guess she had been laying in her own urine, and obviously my male if you had to bathe him, he must’ve been in his own urine as well. I think this is unacceptable and I can’t recommend you. I read someone else’s review who also reported the dog had been covered with feces. Unacceptable if you’re being paid $60 a night (for me boarding two dogs $120 a night). I brought my own food and treats. I at least expect you to let my dog out so it can use the bathroom.

I hadn’t gone on a real vacation since before COVID and I haven’t boarded my current 2 dogs before outside of having a friend care for them for an overnight or weekend so I was pretty anxious choosing a boarding kennel and leaving my babies behind. I was able to get them a suite so they could stay together which made me really happy since they’re bonded and it would lessen any potential stress on them. They also accommodated being able to feed them separately without issue.When I first arrived I noticed how quiet and peaceful it was. I could see several dogs in their outdoor runs but everyone was overall calm and not barking. Inside was very clean! I dealt with the same employee both at drop off and pick up and she was very kind. There was one minor mishap where apparently when I booked online months prior they had been using an older system they no longer use, so what I was given as a total price was different than what I was told when I dropped them off, but I spoke with the owner directly and as she explained this to me she was very kind to comp me a credit + 1 bath to rectify the miscommunication. It was SO appreciated as I hadn’t budgeted that much prior to my trip.They were both freshly bathed before picking up and I was told they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I’m so happy I went with Crownsville Canine and will definitely be returning!

The facility is new and spotless, everything looks so clean and well-maintained. The employees are all very kind and corteous, and made sure my Stella was taken care of. I came in a bit early so she was still a little damp from her bath, but she was clean and happy! She got kennel cough from the last facility we used, but Crownsville Canine took extra precautions to ensure an outbreak didnt happen. I am thrilled with the level of service i was provided, and will definitely be returning. I can't reccomend this place enough!

Love them, and so does my dog. Their facilities are clean, spacious, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. I love that their individual rooms to house the dogs are so large and contain an indoor and outdoor segment so she has access to as much "outdoorish" space as she wants (which is something she loves at my house). I would highly recommend them.

My husband and I are friends with the owner and in NO WAY biased. We are impressed with the lay out of the facility. You can tell Rachelle put great thought into the construction. The cleanliness is awesome. I have never walked in and smelled animals. The staff has always been polite and helpful. Chuck will carry heavy items to your car. I've toured a lot of kennels in the last couple months, looking for a place I was sure would provide comfortable and safe care for our dog. Crownsville Canine stands MILES ABOVE in terms of quality and cleanliness. Their facilities are so much nicer than anything else in the area and Rachelle has thought of everything in terms of making sure that every dog will be comfortable, safe, and have a great experience. Crownsville Canine's reservation system is super quick and responsive; there's no long wait to see if your reservation will be confirmed like I've experienced at other places. The facility is so beautiful that when we drove by during construction, we thought someone was building a wedding venue! Little did we know that it would turn out to be the top-notch kennel we would soon be hunting for for our new pup. I highly recommend Crownsville Canine next time you need daycare or overnight boarding.

I boarded my dog here for a week while we were away.Everyone seemed nice and responsive when making her appointment. The end result was shocking and upsetting.If you’re there for so many days they charge you for a bath…even though my dog came home filthy and covered in feces. Makes me wonder what kind of conditions she was in while she was there.When I brought it to their attention they argued with me, when I was the one who had to Physically scrub it off the back of my dog.Not to mention she now has a really bad case of kennel cough, resulting in pneumonia and an overnight stay at the emergency room.I called and spoke to the owner, to give them a heads up. She was very rude and dismissive over the phone. My dog has not been anywhere except this facility and my home.Thousands of dollars later, a sick dog and now potentially spreading it to my other dog….absolutely speechless. The way the manager and owner handled the situation was even worse. Please learn to have some compassion when customers leave their animals in your care.

Rachelle runs a beautiful and well kept facility. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her business and all the animals that are in her care. Peace of mind when boarding your pets is priceless and I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else! Her tours are fantastic and allow you to see where your fur baby will be and what awesome amenities they to offer. I’d never board my pets elsewhere!

My dog just came home from his two week board & train. Before I dropped him off, he had severe trust issues, aggression, and he did not listen to commands at all. After his training he seems like a happier, more trusting version of himself. Not only did the trainer teach him commands and obedience in a fun way, she also gave me all the tools to continue with further training. My dog now looks forward to putting on his training collars. He listens to commands and although he's not perfect, we are happy learning together. Thank you so much Crownsville Canine!!

We are incredibly grateful to Crownsville Canine for their speedy help when we had an incident with our Boxer. We were not sure of where to go and what to do after the incident that day. We called Crownsville Canine and they gave us an appointment immediately later that afternoon. We brought our dog to them and decided to do the Crownsville on-site training. The results were fantastic, and we have our Boxer home with us now. We appreciated the first consultation, and then two follow-ups afterwards. The facilities were exceptionally clean and nice, and we felt very comfortable leaving our dog with them. We even got a photo of him with an update while he was onsite. We highly recommend Crownsville Canine for anyone that needing assistance with their dog.

I had no choice but to board one of my dogs that was extremely shy. We had a behavioralist working with her. I asked that they not push her as I didn’t want to go backwards with her. Due to Rachelle’s knowledge, within a day and a half I was sent pictures of her happily playing with both Rachelle and her manager. I was blown away. Best kennel, best people bar none.

This is a very nice place. The facility is new and very clean, the staff is super friendly. We were camping nearby and left out dog for daycare and overnight while we are out sightseeing all day and she seemed to really enjoy it. Highly recommended.

Our rescue is very afraid of strangers and they go out of their way to work with him and keep him calm. We wouldn't take him anywhere else. We board all 3 of our pups here and they make sure they are all next to each other and even that our female dog is in the middle to keep the more anxiety ridden boys calmer. Great facility and staff. Clean environment and easy check-in/out process. First overnight (two night) stay for our little one (6.5 m) and he did well. (We didn't hear anything about him being on the naughty list, so that was good, ha!) He had his normal level of energy upon arrival back at home, which was also comforting. He's even been less dramatic when we have to crate him for a little bit while running errands. 10/10 will stay again! 🎈

We boarded our dog there for the first time this past week. My son was very sad when we were dropping our dog off. The staff picked up on this right away. They called us within a few minutes of us leaving to let us know she had already settled in and made some new doggie friends. They also sent me pictures later that day of her playing and having fun with the other dogs. When I went to pick her up I was given a tour of the facility. It is really impressive and super clean. It offers everything boarding, training and grooming.

Impressive facility, I must say. However, the owner Rachelle, seems to lack the social skills to interact professionally with customers and came off as arrogant and disrespectful. I'd suggest working with another of the employees but given that she runs the place, I can't say I'd feel confident in that either. Look somewhere else.
