I've been dying to try real Japanese A5 Waygu. Well, they have it. AND ITS AN EXPERIENCE!!! It's expensive. But it's worth it to treat yourself every once and a while. I will absolutely recommend them to everyone I know. I also got a different kind of Waygu, not sure if it was American or Australian or what, and they said it was a #8 on the marbling scale. That steak was amazing as well. A5 for special occasions. The other for when I want a GOOD steak! They also had a bunch of exotic meats to try. Can't wait to go back and try some new things!!!

The place is phenomenal. It's super accessible and very easy to get to. They have plenty of parking. Also, they have butcher that speak both languages English and Spanish. If you're not comfortable speaking the right terms in English, you can speak Spanish. The place is neat, clean, organized, super friendly , and has amazing customer service. They even put snack outside when the waiting list is long. I highly recommend it if you're close to the Aberdeen area in Hartford County.

Alice and the team at Bowman's is so nice and very knowledgeable! I got a Delmonico steak for Fathers Day 3-4 years ago and not only was it the best steak I have ever had but made my life so much easier. My fathers only request for Christmas, Fathers Day, his Birthday is a Delmonico steak from Bowman's! Great people and great cuts of Meat!

Today we went to Bowman's Butcher Shop for the first time. I have been very interested in going there for years since they have ostrich and other exotic meats. Ostrich is my favorite red meat.The retail side is quite small and during COVID-19 they are limiting it to two customers inside at a time. We waited 45 minutes to get inside. Once inside it was great. They were very helpful and we bought several exotic meats to try. We will definitely go back but we may order online a head of time to reduce the wait.

What a treat to step into this local butcher shop located just outside of Bel Air, MD. The short ribs were absolutely excellent, the strip steaks - the best I've eaten and the fresh chicken was the best! All I can say is, I didn't know what I was missing. Proud to shop local and support this deserving business! Just a few mins off of I-95 and super easy to get to.

Best Butcher in Maryland. So happy I found this amazing place. Anyone looking for good prices and amazing quality meat I suggest you try this. They even have goat, ostrich, and buffalo meat. Pictured is a chicken and a pork butt that I smoked all day. Turned out amazing.I give this place 10 Stars if I could. They also have freezer packages with lots of different meat in it for a very reasonable price. Happy Eating!!!!

Bowman's has a great selection of meats. The food quality is excellent and the staff are always friendly. I really appreciate the new holiday pickup system. You can schedule a time to pickup your order or walk in during business hours. It is nice to know that Bowman's took feedback into consideration and made changes to the benefit of the customers.

The staff were very polite and helpful according to my wife. My wife bought some burgers from here. I had previously heard good things as well.I'm just going to say this, I'm an avid deer hunter. I know venison when I taste it. It had the clear somewhat gaminess, and texture to an extent but with beef mixed in. The giveaway was the flavor. I would say it was more like 25% venison, remaining was beef. There was a clear venison flavor mixed in with that hamburger.My school of thought goes to that they are either using the same equipment to cut venison and beef simultaneously, maybe not cleaning up as they should between different cuts (I want to give benefit of the doubt) or it's a shady operation and they are mixing venison with beef and misrepresenting it. Y'all can make your own judgements and determination based on that if you want. Just stating what I tasted. Pattie sausage also had the same flavor like it was mixed with venison or ground in the same equipment as without proper cleaning in between.That being said, my wife and I will most likely return to our previous butcher prior to trying this one.

Bowmans is the best around! Always an amazing selection with unique cuts of meat/seafood. They are a VERY busy butcher shop, so some patience is needed if you go in to get things (I feel they prefer the online ordering system as it gives them time to get everything you need). So many times I’ve walked in and if something is not in the fridge or freezer, they will go and vacuum seal it fresh for me! I just feel they go above and beyond and the customer service is always top notch. I normally speak with Sophie and she is always so sweet (all the ladies there are!). Highly, highly recommend!!

We've been ordering the monthly butcher boxes for three months and are always impressed. The quality of the meat is excellent and the customer service is phenomenal. Not everything included in the box is something I would normally buy, but it has pushed me to try some new items and I've always been pleasantly surprised. We definitely won't be planning to buy our meats from the grocery store anytime soon.

Look up the exotic meats online to learn how delicious and good for you many of these meats are. Bowmans is a Harford County staple. I have eaten alligator and love it. Am looking forward to eating ostrich. We recently bought a special box combo. Looking forward to our next palate surprise. Thank you!!

I was planning to order my meats for Christmas dinner from a well known online butcher, but I decided to find a local butcher. Fortunately, Bowman's Butcher was literally just up the road from my home (less than a 10 minute drive). I read the reviews and reviewed their website and decided to order. BTW their website is a GREAT resource about what they offer. My brother is the "chef" and with his help I placed my order - prime rib and a couple racks of lamb. He mentioned how impressed he was with the quality of the meat and the marbling. We will definitely be ordering from Bowman's again, looking forward to some dry-aged steaks. My guests were equally impressed with the meat and several asked where I got it from. The meat was a better quality than what I recently purchased from a local grocery chain. So glad that I chose to order from Bowman's Butcher.

This butcher shop will be the place to get my meat from now on! Twice baked baked potatoes amazing! Chicken and steak kebabs amazing! Brats amazing! Grilling season will have our business!! I purchased a bottom round roast for Christmas dinner. The young lady that waited on me was excellent she directed me in every aspect of seasonings and cooking and the roast was excellent. I am sorry I didn’t get her name so I could let everyone know who she is. My family raved about it . So if you need any form of roast or other types of meat they have a great selection. So go check them out you won’t be sorry.

Unfortunately, both the good and the bad reviews are accurate. Food quality is generally always good. Service is absolutely horrible; in person not as bad, but beware if you do ANYTHING by phone. Had beef killed at their site, placed the cut sheet and was given a pick up date. THREE WEEKS later, one of the newer counter workers told me that I had never spoken to her about anything(although I gave her dates and time). Worse now is that their is another person who will never allow you to speak to Alice. Have been going here for more than 15 years. IF I can pick up my beef, I won't be back, for anything.

Found this shop today while looking for Pork Belly. The staff were so friendly, customer service was really top notch. This is now my go to for most of my meats. I went in for Pork Belly and left with Tri-tip, scrapple, maple sausage, all beef hotdogs, and two slabs of pork belly.The young ladies behind the counter made us feel like we have been customers all along.We will be seeing you guys more often.Added a picture of the Pork Belly strait off the smoker just because.

New customer here. Placed a special order, was called to pick it up. We live 30 minutes away. We went on a Thursday as soon as they opened up. There were only 3 people ahead of us and it was more than a 45 minute wait just to be helped. We already had a pre order set and we were only picking up 2 small simple things (chicken feet + turkey necks). I see a lot of their clients are older, but it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to help one person. On top of that there were older people standing for more than a half an hour, waiting. After helping everybody before us we had to wait again because they didn’t know where our order went. Here goes another 15 minutes of our time just for the lady to come up to us to tell us they’re not sure why they called us because they never got an order. This is the same lady who put in our order and called us to say it was ready. She told us she’s not sure “who” messed up the order, but there was never an order. On top of that there was an elder man with a cane who stepped outside to sit down while he waited. They forgot about him so mid way into helping us we had to remind them that he was ahead of us so he wouldn’t be stuck out there for another half an hour. The lady was kind about it, but so were we. Definitely will not be going back here.

Wow, I use to love this place. We dropped of 16 lbs of dear meat that we cut up, cubed and weighed ourselves. All I wanted was some breakfast sausage, Italian sausage and deer sticks. We made our order and waited, and waited, and waited. They lost it. They did throw some random meat packs and venison sticks in a box for us, but it took multiple calls, emails and two visits. The breakfast sausage did have a sour taste.So I waited and spent money on bad meat? The sad part is, a good friend asked where to take his deer and I recommended them. This was before my issue. They lost his deer too and his was a full deer. After multiple calls they offered a box of venison for his trouble. Well, when they showed up to pick it up, Bowman's sold/gave their box to someone else. This was right as COVID was starting. Never-mind the fact that the deer was dropped off in December. Well, they were excited to have meat in the freezer to help with the meat shortages in the stores. Well, wrong!

These are by far the best steaks you can purchase within at least 50 miles. Prove me wrong and I'll try your recommendation. When you go to a "fancy"steakhouse, and drop $100+ on steak, Bowmans is the level of quality they use, so grill it yourself and save $60-70 and buy a nice bottle of bourbon or wine to go with it.The cuts are thicker, 1 1/2 - 2inches so be mindful if you're grilling them for the first time, they may end up being rarer then your usual.Other things to check out: they carry local eggs, exotic meats (alligator, elk, etc), and they have their own beer/venison seasoning thats actually pretty good. Better than Montreal.Other notes: They have amazing service here, they'll let you look at the cuts and bring you other ones from the back room if you don't like what they have on display.Not a fan on their sausages, the texture is good but the taste is a bit bland. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve cooking them.Some people think it smells weird in here. Welcome to a butchershop kiddos!

I dropped 6 deer off to Bowman’s over the hunting season. The first was dropped off 10/5/2019 and the last 1/10/2020. I then waited 2 months for the first deer. After repeated calls, I eventually went there in person and was able to pick up 1 deer. They promised me that my other deer and sausage would be ready that Monday (I went on a Saturday) and they would call. Several weeks went by and no calls. I called a few times and was able to pick up another ground deer, a couple venison bologna sticks, and hotdogs. They said I would receive a call soon regarding the remainder of the ground deer and sausage. (2 full deer and 2 partial were left).Today is 2/26/2020 and I have never received a call about the deer. I also gave the ground meat to a friend and he informed me that it had a very strong smell so he had to feed it to his dogs. The bologna sticks were also moldy when I received them. On one of my trips to Bowman’s, one of the ladies behind the counter did tell me that my 18 pound deer would be ready shortly.None of the deer were under 100 pounds. I know the difference between a deer and a cat. She also informed me that “she couldn’t help me” regarding the sausage and remainder of the deer. So, as a result of all this, I do not recommend Bowman’s.

This is, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a meat processor. I dropped two deer off on opening day in November. At this point, I’m assuming that they’ve lost them. I attempted to contact Bowman’s six times in February and March, and each time was told that the “deer processor was not in” and that I would get a call back. I have never received a call back and at this point highly doubt that I will. I completely understand that deer processors can get busy. However, four months later, they have refused to return my calls or give me a status update. Given this complete lack of customer service, I’m afraid to consume the meat that comes out of this shop, since I no longer trust their services. I certainly would not use their service again and regret that they have likely wasted two animals.Update: They lost both deer.

One of hubby's co-workers often brings us bones for our golden retriever from here so as soon as I spied a Deal Here coupon for the place I scooped right up on it. After lunch lunch in Parkton we decided to take a drive to Churchville to check the place out and arrived around 3pm. The store is located behind a house and can be a bit confusing at first, just follow the signs. Sadly they were out of dog/soup bones and also the beef lung treats but we didn't want to leave empty handed since the place is a bit of a drive from our house in Rosedale. I initially was gonna get 2 Porterhouse steaks but quickly changed my mind when I was told the total - $58 - for that price they better be served to me straight off the grill and accompanied by a baked potato and salad. We ended up getting a couple of packs of the fresh maple breakfast sausage, scrapple, bacon, fresh eggs and a beef stick for our golden retriever. Sunday we were stuck in the house because of the snow so we had a nice brunch - everything was absolutely delicious so we will probably stop back if we're in the area to get some more of that sausage in particular and hopefully we can get some of those bones our golden loves.

Great place for fresh meat and exotic meats that you don't find in a supermarket. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The place is a little bit hard to find because you have to drive down a long driveway to get there, but it's worth the trip.
