The seafood is usually bad, the produce section is sometimes scarce and can often be bad. Long ridiculous lines because they wouldn't open up the convenience (12 items or less) line. Mismanaged-unorganized.-local shopper who travels to Damariscotta or bath to do much of her local fresh food shopping now.

Horrible cashiers. The bald lady is especially rude!!! I’m a new mom and she has made unsolicited comments about my body (and weight) on several occasions. This has made me deeply uncomfortable and I don’t think she should be working with customers.

Gotta love our small local Wiscasset Shaw's! Could use some remodeling but overall, it's a small town grocery store that has most of what you need but not a huge selection because it's on the smaller side.Love the sale section in the back of the store!

This is actually a useful normie grocery store since it's the only one for several miles in any direction. Huge parking lot. Store inside is nice enough to shop in but it's not like, spectacular or anything. Good selection of Polar Seltzer which is always of high importance to my localish (wells high school graduate) partner.

Smaller store so less selection than other locations with more floor space. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking. Double check dates on egg cartons, because they aren't careful to remove expired stock.

I wasn't to happy with the providing of a handicapped buggy. One was dead, so my friend tried to push the heavy thing out of the way the only other one I seen had heavy boxes in it's seat. The older man that was cashier near this was rude and had no clue how to be polite or offer any help.

First day of swordfish on sale and they had none. That sucks. Went in last week for crab legs on sale and guess what they didn't have ANY. I would change the rating to 1 star.

I visited the Wiscasset store today. It was 5:15 pm and I went to the deli counter to pick up some fish, I was told the deli was closed. There was one person working in the deli but she couldn't sell anything. That doesn't make any sense.

Watched the drive up and go manger get arrested on the clock. Then saw her working there a few days later. How is that acceptable when she threatened to run people over? Poor management clearly. Definitely won’t be shopping at the Wiscasset location anymore. Makes me wonder how much they actually care for their customers safety.

Shaws has the best deals on a weekly basis compared to any other grocery chain in Maine. If you purchase just sale items at the right time it is easy to save 50+ percent. Keep in mind weekly ads are there to entice you so you spend more but make a list, stick to it and you can consistently save a bunch of money. Especially in today's climate of inflation.

Friendly staff, clean and neat store. Fresh looking grapes I noticed as well as neat and organized main shelving. Definitely recommend to those in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised with my DUG order today! Inside each bag was a complementary bag of pistachios, and a candy filled Easter egg! Way to knock the customer experience out of the park, Shaw’s! The little things DO matter so much!

A bit more expensive than Hannaford, occasionally has special sale items on offer but you have to join their rewards club to take advantage of the sales.Also, the self-returnable redemption machine for cans and bottles can't process more than 25 or 30 cans before it malfunctions and needs servicing from an associate. Very time-consuming and frustrating.

This store has phenomenal service. The employees are friendly and helpful, the selection of everything is always great! Unfortunately, I have one thing to say that I hope gets addressed.. there is a small wetland area, right at the north end of the property that is riddled with trash and I heard the peepers tonight in the midst of OUR environment! I understand the ongoing crisis.. but please pay someone to pick the trash out of the pond.. I picked a few pieces out myself, but as a corporation (Shaws) who makes plenty of $.. please also set an example outside your stores.. the environment doesn't deserve our trash!!! Please address this issue!!!!

Great deals, particularly 3 day deals. Though a rain check is often needed. Regular prices leave much to be desired. Storefront is excellent, you can hardly tell it used to be an Ames.

Went in and purchased a bunch of 75% off items, got charged full price. Then went right back in with all my things once I realized and tried to get my money back, they had no idea what they were doing. Took so long I just ended up returning everything before my perishable items went bad. Not impressed with Seth at the customer service desk. Wont be going back.

This is the closest grocery store from my house and it’s great! I go all the time and most of the time I can find everything I’m looking for! Staff is always friendly and they have a good selection!

A rather unremarkable supermarket chain and this store is a rather unremarkable location. The produce is tired.The meat is mediocre.No feedback on the help.I never had any interaction with any that was negative.The prices overall at Shaws are high. The specials can be ok,but I don't go there much. It's on Rte 1_and that can be a problem. I would rather hit Any Hannaford . The Hannafords in Augusta and Damariscotta are much nicer than this store.

This store is consistently understaffed, and the lines have stopped me from shopping here on more than one occasion even though it is conveniently on my way home. I like the store's layout and offerings, but they need more cashiers or at least some self-service stations.

Shaw's grocery store is always a delight. Plenty of parking, grocery carts that work well and are clean. Terrific vegetable and fruit section, lots of variety throughout the store for staples and more exotic selections. Good meat and fish sections. In-store wine and liquor selection. Clean, wide isles, helpful pleasant staff. Only downside is getting on and off Route 1, but center turning lane helps.

This is the very first experience I have had with Shaw's. Without hesitation I will return. Shaws is a full service grocery store. We used the Portland location to stock up for our drive to Acadia.

It's pretty sad when you have 2 young men (1 scanning our groceries the other doing nothing, thought maybe he was the bagger) standing talking about video games. Cashier stopped scanning several times to discuss said video game. I smiled and said to them "we're hungry, could you please scan our groceries." I had tobag all but 1 bag myself. The other guy stood there the whole time. Not very good customer service. I'll also add the young lady in the deli never smiled once and was not very helpful. This is the 2nd time with her. Think we'll go back to Hannaford even though it's a bit longer of a drive. Much better service and more polite employees.

I go in there with my bottle to return, use the machine, then the machine doesn’t take some of the bottles as I expected. The bottle bell is broken so I call the store asking for someone to be sent back. That old blonde haired scronny hag that thinks she runs that store hangs up on me after I request someone to be sent back. She says there is not enough people, & she hangs up on me. I hear her call for back from inside the store. I go in there and see 4-5 registers open, 6 people on the front end. I left all my bottles in there on the floor. I go in there and I ask was that you on the phone she said yes. I said you have lost my business. I will never be coming here again. I said I worked for Hannaford for 8 years I know how this works. She just shoed me away and could care less. She litterally said she didn’t care and walked off. Well I wrote a nasty review about them, anyways. they did a great upgrade to the store but their customer service is terrible, and their products are out of date most of the time. Or close to out date in the dairy and produce department. I am composing a to go order for Walmart now to pick up after work tomorrow 🤷‍♀️ I also had a guy complain that he had to provide service at the bottle area one time. I told him where else am I supposed to go? They have some rare breeds working in there.

First and foremost, the front-end staff are incredibly friendly and efficient. I love walking into a supermarket where it's east to recognize my favorite cashier(s) and jump into their line to check out. The service ranges from okay to absolutely incredible.Here's the problem: the food there is awful. A good example is the produce section; where many of the products are wrinkled and soft, sometimes moldy, and generally inadequate to other supermarkets. The meats are okay at best, but are visibly not as good in quality as those of most competitors. The coolers and freezers there seem to be improperly maintained, so there is a good chance that you may buy a product that is either moldy, sour, or freezer-burned.In hindsight...Customer Service is an AOverall Selection is a B+Store Layout is a CSealed Product Quality is a C"Fresh" Product Quality is an F

Associate was rude. We have not visited a Shaws in awhile and this is why. Every store has different rules and regulations regarding Covid and my family and I work hard to abide by their rules. The associate we encountered was NOT gentle in his explanation of your stores rules. He made us feel stupid and our sale inconsequential. Thank you for reminding us why we choose Hannaford.

I’ve mentioned this to the store management on numerous occasions and yet no improvement is seen. Without fail, when shopping at this Shaws location I can depend on your baggers to botch the bagging of my groceries! $6.00 per bundle bok choy crushed on the bottom of a bag full or canned goods, romaine lettuce on the bottom of a bag filled with meats and cheeses. I could go on.I continue to shop at this location because you are most convenient to my home but I’m now prepared to shop at other Shaws location where the bagging skills are consistently better.I’ve bagged groceries. It’s not difficult. Train your staff or loose an otherwise happy customer.

I'd like to know who thought it was a smart idea to move the shopping carts further away from the door? And why would your staff say "oh, yeah, everyone has been saying that. It comes from corporate. There's nothing we can do." Yes, they can tell corporate the customers are unhappy, and get the carts put back to a more convenient spot by the door. I can just as easily go to Hannafords.

The people who work there are friendly and professional service, the places was clean. They answered all my questions, I am not living in Maine I am from Maine the five cent bags was a great value.
