I have shopped here my entire life. They were in a different, smaller location not far from here. But they have been available and reliable. Good prices. Great employees. They remember you. Building lasting relationships with their customers. Real and trustworthy. That is a rare combination in this world today. They value their customers and you know it. There are so many things here, I can’t imagine not being able to find what you need. Plumbing and electrical and automotive supplies, gardening, building, painting, fishing, farming and more. Need assistance? They are knowledgeable and eager to help. I but my Lacrosse Alpha Burly boots here every year. Always the best price. Sometimes even on sale!Buy local. Stay local. Be local. I am Maine-born and raised!

Every time I go in there, people are eager to help! A gentleman with a ball cap, and wire frame glasses helped me so much! He even demonstrated something for me! I told I appreciate his knowledge, he said it was his second day there, which I think he was fibbing! Anyway I told him I would let his boss know! I hope he sees this! Just moved here from Augusta,and I love this store!

Ames is the greatest place to shop they got everything you need to tackle home project and animal care. Weather your a professional or a weekend warrior Ames is the place you need. Overall I give them three thumbs up and a bottle of gin with extra olives.

On Wednesdays, 12/27/23 I was in the area and stopped in to purchase some Ammo. The women - who would appear as the owner or at least a manager, was such a pleasure to work with. She was kind, warm and pleasant. I’m not often greeted like that, from folks that don’t look like me, in Maine. It was a nice.

Ames is a real gem of a small town hardware store. They always have whatever you need and always go out of their way to help you. We always go here rather then going to the big box stores.

My absolute favorite hardware store. But really, let's be honest, it's so much more than a hardware store! You will get lost and never want to be found. Especially if you engage in a conversation with one of the staff members, they are all very helpful and most of them are hilarious.It pretty much has an entire pet store within it also. Great rewards program!. Tons of garden supplies and farm supplies also. Birdseed! So many options!!!!

Much bigger than you think it is. Well stocked with work tools all the way to horse tack. Some of the aisles are a little cramped but that is very forgivable.

Always great friendly staff!! They have it all. Equestrian section, bird seed and feeders, foods for all kinds of pets. Fishing tackle, paint section, hardware, and plumbing. Boots for hunting or farm work. Great selection of all types of work gloves. $$

Might be the best hardware store I've ever been to... Dog-friendly, deep selection in every section, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They even have baby chicks in the spring. If you need a spile for maple sugaring, they have several types to choose from. Looking for horse tack? It's there. Chain saw, grass seed, LED bulb? You're in luck. Stop in, for sure!

Went in to get a birdhouse we saw from the road, ended up inside this store and my mouth hit the floor! If you can't find what you're looking for here, then you don't need it! They have everything. And the people working there are super helpful!

Absolutely the best local hardware store - particularly for nuts and bolts. I'm told that they are the largest ACE hardware store in the country. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable and often are retired plumbers and builders etc.

I was NOT expecting this store to have soooo much. I wish I'd spent more time and not been in such a rush. I was super excited to find they had what I needed and noticed they offer a ton of pet foods. Reminded me of renys combined with hardware. They had some clothes, lots of hardware and pet foods from what I saw and I'm sure so much more! They also had a beautiful kitten available for adoption at the front. He's all black, so friendly and just kept purring at my daughter and I when we walked in. If I'd have been able to have more pets, I'd have snagged the little guy. Hope he finds a good home soon ❤️ ty to your kind and friendly staff. I could tell when I was checking out, this store is a local favorite. They know their customers and interactions were small town friendly, my favorites. These places bring the sense of small town community together!

This store is amazing and their staff are super knowledgeable. Huge shoutout to Jon who is my hardware store Sherpa. He knows that store like the back of his hand so when my 2 year old and I come in I can just tell Jon the project I’m working on or the vague idea of something I need to accomplish and he shows me exactly what I’ll need. What a gem! Honestly, that expertise is why I drive farther to get here instead of Lowes

Honestly a pretty sad Hardwear store they claim to have an excellent supply of things however this is not true when you arrive. The best you will find is budget brands that perform poorly. Avoid if possible.

This is how I remember hardware stores as a kid, going in with my grandfather. Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable. I can walk in that store with that look on my face and in a no time, "What do you need boss?" Comes at me from any direction. Great quality and prices. What else do you want? Love this store.

I have shopped here for decades. I've been local and always used this store. Many of the staff are great, but ive had issues. If it wasn't for the couple isolated incidents it would be 5 stars. I will give it another shot and we will see what the future holds for my further business.

This is the best hardware, grain and pet store on the mid coast. Everyone from Jeff down is super helpful. My wife and I have yet to walk in and not find what we need.We buy paint , wood pellets, hay, rabbit food grass seed, and even lawn furniture. Great products, great service and overall a GREAT shopping experience. We go weekly and glad they are in our town.Anthony Rauseo
