I've been buying paint for our house remodel at E L Spear and I was thrilled Alex could make farrow and Ball colors. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I also got a few bags of manure and I'm sure my plants will be happy. Oh yea and glass for our window rehab. I look forward to shopping at this store!

Just had to leave a review. Made online purchase and it was ready to pick up in literally about 5 minutes, was waiting for me, ready to go. Friendly service. They seem to be able to keep stuff in stock, too, and have a good selection in general. Good pricing on most items.The only thing I would change is to extend the open hours, as I often have trouble getting there before they close, but I won't dock any stars for that.

My wife and I have been shopping at Spears since we moved to Maine four years ago. They are the best! The service and their knowledge has helped with several home improvement projects. They deliver to our home, their prices are very fair and it’s so nice to be greeted with a friendly welcome. They beat the box stores by a mile!!!

Always friendly and helpful service, decent prices, and they deliver! I'm always surprised to find the prices are competitive with the big box stores. The folks at Spear's, especially Chris or Lincoln or Spencer, are always friendly, and I'm grateful. Need to understand how something works, what the best tool for a task is? Just ask. Need something ordered, loaded into your car, or delivered? This is the place.It's worth mention that Spears' prices are competitive with Lowe's and the Depot. A twitch higher but the quality of the word and lumber is much better.

Great locally owned hardware store.carry twice the selection as big box stores. All the lumber is top notch quality no need to pick through 50 boards for good ones.If you need any fastener at all hex ,grade 8, metric they have it ! and the employees know where everything is !!!!!Needed new blade on an old mower 20" Lowes was out but E.L. Spear (Ace hardware ) had it !

They have helped me out with suggestions for small projects in the past. I needed quality wood for trim carpentry. Big box stores were cheaper, but I would have wasted a lot because of the poor quality. Very happy with quality and service at E.L. Spear.

I’m not sure what Zack Curtis’s beef is since he didn’t say. I Love Spears especially when it comes to unusual and miscellanies screws and hardware. Much more than any other hardware or big box store in Rockland. I also feel they are quite knowledgeable. Sorry to see Jack had problems, however I have always had great service.

nice people but no one seem to know what their doing. several trips made at different times for items which were supposed to be in stock. Called before to make sure but when arrived, items were Not There! A waste of time and their prices are too high for similar or exact same items elsewhere. there are Better choices in Rockland!
