My boyfriend and I went this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary and we just fell in love with this place! The location was perfect! Just a few steps from the Marginal Way with their own cute little path leading you there. Glen, Lawrence (the owners) and Tommy are wonderful hosts when Bentley their fur-baby isn’t stealing the show . We stayed in one of the lofts and were delighted with the beach chic decor and cleanliness. Not one special touch was missing to make you feel like you’re staying in luxury. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need and then some! Outside our room was a balcony with tables and chairs as well as a wonderful patio area with fire pit. The interior also has a nicely decorated common area with board games and fireplace for all to enjoy. Okay, let’s get to the good stuff… HAPPY HOUR! We so enjoyed the cocktails and goodies while getting to know the other guests. We couldn’t say enough about this lovely little gem and cannot wait to go back again!Rooms: So clean and beautifully decoratedWalkability: Steps from the Marginal way and ten minute walk to Perkins Cove and center of activities such as The front porch but tucked away in a quiet little spot between the beach and Perkins Cove.Food & drinks: Breakfast and cocktail hour is a nice added touchNoteworthy details: Rain shower head, touch light mirror and mounted shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in bathroom. Kitchen has kuerig single serve with k-cups, sugar, and creamer not to mention that kitchen is fitted with all the items necessary to dine in. The bed! So comfortable with down pillows and comforter.

If you asked me what my perfect day would be, my answer would be a full day at the Blue Shutters Inn. My wife and I just stayed for a full week for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I can’t even begin to explain how lovely the inn and its staff are. We stayed in the Boothbay room and were greeted with an anniversary cake and a note when we checked in. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Sweets were left out each night when we returned “home” (grab the magic bar and thank us later). We used the beach towels, bags, and chairs every single day. We sat by the fire pit, spent lots of quality time with Bentley, enjoyed happy hour and overall just had such an incredible time. But the breakfasts… the BREAKFASTS!!! Better than restaurant quality, perfect for unfussy foodies like us who love just about everything. Lawrence, Glen, Sue, Miss D - thank you so much for a wonderful time! Your meticulous care and love you put into crafting experiences for your guests is so apparent and very appreciated. Until next summer 💙

We chose this inn because of the reviews and we were not disappointed! The warm welcome from the owners and their staff, custom decor, thoughtful touches (champagne, chocolate, warm fire pit), incredibly comfortable beds, cleanliness, and amazing breakfast exceeded our expectations. Also very ideal proximity to town and the marginal way. We are already planning our next trip!

Let's talk about the breakfast offered here.  Every morning we were awakened to wonderful smells wafting up to us, calling us down to start a pleasant, peaceful day.  Bring your stretchy pants(!) because you won't be able to resist the 2-course extravaganzas composed by Laurence - sausage and lobster eggs benedict pictured here.I can't imagine you'd find a better, tastier breakfast anywhere ... I can't imagine you'd find a better place to enjoy Ogunquit.  The Inn is absolutely charming.Walkability: Access the Marginal Way from the Inn's backyard.

My wife and I stayed in the Trellis House, but spent plenty of time at Blue Shutters Inn for breakfast and coffee.The amenities were incredible. Laurence, Glen, and their staff clearly took so much time and care to re-design these properties. Everything was just so welcoming and warm. And comfortable!The breakfasts were phenomenal. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked. The sausage and bacon were brought in from a trusted butcher, and they were quite memorable. The pancakes, the parfaits—I could go on and on. We stayed for a long weekend, and we’re so thankful to get three great breakfasts.The properties are right off the Marginal Path. So, pretty easy beach access. Property also has chairs to borrow for the beach.We also opted in for an add-on picnic for our last lunch, and it was so thoughtfully put-together. Laurence’s chicken salad was every bit as delicious as his breakfasts were.We’re hopeful that we can visit again before too long!

Six of us, all childhood best friends, meet for a beach trip at a different location every summer. Blue Shutters is perfection! The rooms are fresh and modern, and with the amenities we were looking for. The staff are above and beyond friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. They even left a delicious surprise birthday cake in my room. Come and stay in an inn that looks like it is straight from a bright design showroom. You will find a lovely happy hour vibe with quality cocktails and nibbles, but most importantly, do NOT skip the AMAZING breakfast! We are already planning our return next year... our first ever repeat stay!

It is obvious that owners Lawrence and Glen (and their staff) LOVE what they do and take so much pride in delivering an excellent, fun and beachy BnB experience. We stayed in the Portland suite at Blue Shutters. It was beautifully decorated, the bed was so comfy, and it was super convenient to access from our car in the provided off-street parking. The only downside to that particular room is that its interior door is adjacent to the hallway and kitchen. However, the staff takes care to operate quietly in the morning getting things set up for breakfast, and if you are a morning person, it won't bother you a bit. (If you like to sleep in, you might consider a different room or their neighboring property, Trellis House.)Did I mention breakfast was crazy delicious? A ham and cheese croissant done French toast style with maple dijon syrup... I had to restrain myself from licking the plate clean. Cocktail hour at Trellis House was also lovely, good snacks, tasty drinks, and a large Scrabble board.Glen & Lawrence know the area well and pretty much every spot they recommended was a winner. Blue Shutters is in a great location and easy walking distance to lots of great shops and restaurants.The beach chairs, bag, and towels they provided were great and we loved taking the short walk on Marginal Way to Little Beach and setting up between the rocks to enjoy the beach as the tide went out.

We just spent three fabulous nights at this in! Such a cozy and comfortable place run by charming Innkeepers that are friendly, accommodating and welcoming and made you feel like you were at home! The rooms are clean and comfortable with a fabulous view. The breakfast served were delicious and kept us full until late afternoon. I would highly recommend this in for perfect relaxing getaway in a beautiful little town! We have Already booked another weekend in September!

Highly recommend. We stayed in the Grand room, with a private entrance. The room and common areas were just what we wanted. Quaint. Comfortable. Homey. The owners are nice as can be. We were celebrating our honeymoon. Came back from a walk to find a bucket of champagne and 2 glasses waiting for us. Breakfast was delicious, stuffed French toast, bacon, parfait, eggs, mmm. Right near an entrance to the Marginal Way, close walk to shops. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this quaint and lovely bed and breakfast by the sea. Ned was so hospitable to us and helpful. Every day we had a delightful cooked breakfast with fresh fruit. Although it was rainy, we were so close to the sea, we easily walked the Marginal way path and saw the beauty of the Atlantic so nearby. This is a lovely older house with antiques scattered throughout, and delicious cookies, muffins or banana bread and coffee for guests in entry way for daily snack. Couldn't ask for more. Our room was large, lovely soft sheets and quilt, warm heater/stove in room for chilly days. View of the ocean, it was wonderful and we hope to go back in the fall. Great location, walking distance to down town. Can access the Marginal Way from the property. Stayed in the grand room which was nice but be prepared to be up about 730am when they start breakfast, the walls are thin and location of this room is near the kitchen. Breakfast was delicious and filling! In keeper was very friendly as well!

We LOVED our stay here! The staff was so friendly and so accommodating! We ended up getting in late from our flight and they waited up for us to get there. We could smell breakfast cooking in the morning and they even had gluten free options! I'm from Utah and most definitely will be coming back!!

The innkeepers and staff were amazingly accommodating and went out of their way to be sure we were well taken care of. Service and menu at breakfast was quick and thoughtful. Our room was well appointed and quite quiet given the home's age. Not to mention the location was super easy to get to AND it was literal steps from Marginal Way! When we return to Ogunquit, we will stay here again and again.

I happened to book a room at the Blue Shutters Inn based solely on location and price, and I am seriously impressed by the cozy New England charm of this little B&B. The staff were friendly and pleasant, and my room was comfortable and extremely clean. They also gave me good advice for restaurants and things to do in the area, which is beautiful. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

My husband and I just returned from our vacation in Ogunquit where we stayed at the Blue Shutters. We had a wonderful time - Ned is a great host (serves wonderful breakfasts) and he really makes you feel at home. We had stayed at this inn many years ago and it was so nice to come back. We stayed at the Blue Shutters in for two nights in mid-march and it was simply great. We stayed in the main house, and can attest that the rooms are spacious and clean. The proprietor, Ned is friendly and a wonderful cook. We loved our stay!

We have just had our first night here. I can smell breakfast cooking and it smells wonderful. Only complaints of this place are the beds that are not supportive enough for two people in the bed and that the air conditioning is on too high for non mid day comfort.

Great location. It is near both downtown, just steps off of Marginal Way and very close to Perkins Cove. All areas are very walkable.
