This ice cream stand has stood the test of time. I'll gladly wait in line and pay for my cones, sundaes, and especially the resee's peanut butter cup sundae -- it's out of this world. I get it every time. It makes resees run in your blood, so good. The staff is high school girls who for the most part are wonderful. Best ice cream stand around! Nice job Beals.Parking: The parking lot is HUGE!Kid-friendliness: Kids run this place.Wheelchair accessibility: You can take wheelchair from the parking lot to the order and pick up counter, but the counters are high and there is gravel and earth not cement or concrete.

First timer. Sorry to say but the coffee frappe I ordered didn't scream coffee flavored. It tasted more of milk (I know I know, it's a frappe) but the coffee ice cream flavor was very lacking. I don't know if this is just the way they're made, or if I am used to other ice cream places. It wasn't bad, I guess I am just comparing it to other places and experiences I have had. Straight facts, no emotion here. Maybe we'll try it again if we're in the area again.

SO MANY DECISIONS! It was really hard to pick JUST ONE flavor. Loved the wide variety and the servings were huge! Picnic tables to sit at and plenty of parking! Yummy & definitely recommend!

Cute old fashioned ice cream place with interesting flavors and great ice cream. Very fairly priced, too. $5-6 for 1-2 scoops. I didn't try the spoons. Easily looked like the best place in town.

Always one of our favorite spots and they're opened much later into the season than other places. The ice cream is always good and the service has always been excellent. There is plenty of parking so it's easy to get in and out without any trouble.

Chipmunks and Ice cream! There are tons of little chipmunks hanging out popping around out to the left picnic table seating area (I was here in August). Don't worry, they are totally kind. Who knew they liked ice cream? Or maybe the nuts on the ice cream? I dunno. But the staff was very friendly, the ice cream was very creamy & delicious and as mentioned the atmosphere and seating was great too!

Awesome place to get freshmade ice cream and frozen yogurt in a wide variety of flavors. They make their own ice cream, (some of their) cones, ice cream cakes and pizza. They make sundaes, frappes, splits, and many other concoctions... and best of all they're open until 9pm at the Gorham location.

I've loved Beals since I was a kid, and it's just at good as ever now when I bring my own sons. They all have my two favorite flavors, grape nut and peppermint stick so definitely try those out 🤩

My God I love New England, here it is 47 degrees with a 22 mile an hour wind and people are standing in line wearing jackets to get ice cream in late April ! The maple walnut with the homemade waffle cone here makes the line worth it ...Beal's is a truly great place to get that summer treat even if it's cold outside.

Delicious! Glad we stopped in for a waffle cone on Fathers Day. We timed it perfectly; right after we pulled in and got in line, so did what seemed like every other father within a 20-mile radius. And no wonder! Lots of flavors to choose from; I went with a two scoop waffle cone because I couldn't make up my mind.

The kids loved the M&M, Oreo, strawberry, and coffee flavors. Sizes are generous: Kiddie size is more than enough ice cream for even an adult. There is a great selection of flavors and cones, and prices are reasonable. Staff were quick and wonderfully accommodating, providing a replacement ice cream cone for child who was having a fit for getting her ice cream in a cup instead of a cone. I’ll definitely go again if I have another chance.

Really great ice cream for a good price. My only complaint is the cashiers who handle the cash also scoop the ice cream without washing hands or donning gloves. Food poisoning outbreak in the making if you ask me.Edit: thanks for the reply, Beal's! The paper covering and dish would be helpful if your staff avoided touching anything but the paper, but they don't. Literally they use their grubby hands to grab a spoon (the part I put in my mouth, no less) and plop it in my dish. A spoon being an "unwrapped single use article", as mentioned on page 38 of the State of Maine Food Code. Follow food sanitation protocols and have them wear gloves, wash hands, or have a separate person man the register and handle the food. It's just gross to touch money and food without washing in between.

The ice cream is good, with a large variety of flavors to suit any taste. The included free cones are pretty weak, although they were willing to provide free cups to people with leaky cones on a hot night, otherwise expect to spend roughly $1.50 to upgrade to a real homemade "Swiss" waffle cone. As such, pricing is a touch higher than some other small ice cream establishments once you factor that in, but overall pricing is fair, especially once you add another scoop or two. Nice size parking lot as well.

Spending years of my life in Europe close to Italy and enjoying original Gelato have made it very difficult for me to find a dealer with satisfying taste of ice-cream in the US. I’m very happy that I found this place. I love their ice-cream and frozen yogurt. Although I usually go for the latter. This place is managed by a group of young and very friendly women and I always enjoyed ordering at their counter. Keep up with the good work plz!

Beal's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is some very tasty ice cream. The wife was wanting ice cream from a scoop type shop for days with most closed yet for the season(second week of May). She spotted Beal's Old Fashioned Ice Cream. We stopped and got a double scoop, it was great. Ate it at the picnic tables.Would definitely stop again#
