They had basically nothing on the shelf evening was empty or such a mess you had to paw through stuff. Then when I got to the cashier I only had a big bill for my purchase only about 15 dollars seeing they didn't have most of what I was looking for. And the cahser needed to make change. The manager was so rude about it and basically didn't want to sell me the things they did have that I wanted. AND THEN THE CASHIER Gave me the wrong change and shorted me 3 dollars.

Store was a mess from all the freight that had not been put out so all the boxes were piled every where all over the store. One of the associates zipper was un done on her pants which both boys had noticed she was of very poor hygiene and extremely greasy ungroomed hair.

Waited in line for 15 minutes for the 3 people in front of us and a line behind us to the back of the store. Manager took 15 minutes to come out of the office (that has windows and can clearly see the line at the one register that was open) to open another register. She then made comments about how no one wants to work minimum wage and everyone wants full time like that's a bad thing. It was very unprofessional. I don't think I will ever go back and I hope that they fix it.

Not one of the better Dollar Tress we've been in. My wife and I travel all over and this one wasn't that great! Shelves are pretty empty and store not that clean. Staff was friendly but not to helpful. Oh, well... can't win them all.

While the prices at Dollar Tree are excellent, and you can find stellar items lurking in the depths of their products, the Ellsworth Dollar Tree itself isn't a place I would want to shop, or encourage others to shop. To disclose, I worked there for a little over 3 years between its opening at the location and September 2019; I've been privy to a great deal of internal issues, politicking, and general apathy of the staff towards customers during that time.When the store opened, it was wonderful. The manager was truly dedicated to giving a pleasant experience to all customers, and I fully believed that was the most important part. Shelves remained stocked thanks to the efforts of the stock team. Products were moving quickly.When the first manager left, the District Manager saddled us with a rushed choice of a mentally unstable man from up north who didn't care about the customers and only cared about getting out product -- which was fine, because at least the product was getting out. The store became more messy. Boxes were left around more often. When he left, we were without a manager for a long period of time.Then the District Manager started cutting corners. She forced other managers (notably ones in Brewer and E. Machias) to give the answers of the managerial test to the person she WANTED as manager -- instead of looking for someone more qualified. So the current manager isn't qualified, and goes out of her way to make perfectly good employees feel like trash while she complains that she can't get enough stock out because of 'her team'. "You see what I have to work with!" she screams at the two female assistant managers -- Patricia, and Marie, the latter of whom was rushed into the position before corporate standards would have allowed it because of blatant favoritism on the part of the manager -- in the back room, where the other stock people can hear her talking about them so negatively.She plays favorites with her employees. She doesn't care about her customers. She doesn't get the stock out that people need out the most: food, drinks, snacks. She plays the 'woe is me' card and is dreadfully inadequate for the position she's in.I can't encourage people to shop at a place that treats other human beings so grossly while doling out favorites. District Manager Lois has been known to reject managerial candidates she personally dislikes, regardless of if they're good for the job or not -- and in the case of Cindy, grossly misrepresent their capabilities to thrust them into a position that they don't deserve.Shop at your own risk, and definitely be careful if applying there for a job. There's a reason they're always hiring: because you're disposable to them.

I visited the store on December 26 at approximately 4 pm. I was waited on by Sierra. I stood at the register and waited for some time before she acknowledged me. Sierra acted very unprofessional while ringing up my order. I visit the store regularly and was very disappointed.

Good location and a variety of items. You don’t go in with a list, the dollar tree tells you what to buy.

Bought some cheap reading glasses and some snacks. Also, used the bathroom which was exceptionally clean with 2 stalls. The cashier was very pleasant!

Very unprofessional. To hire a great worker that benefited the company so well. And then giving notice to leave and not schedule them is rude. I will be writing a letter to the B.B.B. and corporate. And writing a bad review on the running of the Ellsworth location.

There are other discount stores in town including Renys & Mardens... Although new, it's so much nicer organized and cleaner than Mardens. Renys is clean but for staples of food, Dollar Tree is far better.

I was treated very rudely today in the Ellsworth store. The cashier shoved 36 items in one bag and when I asked if she could split it up and I was told no that they are limited on bags. The bags ripped before we got to the car.
