Warm, inviting hospitality greets you at this charming bed and breakfast. Located in the middle of town but with the feeling of being secluded in a peaceful oasis. There are 3 floors of rooms and a few cottages available, situated on a 2-acre lot along the water. There are plenty of places to unwind and explore on the property, including a bar, beer garden, game room and outside. The restaurant, Whale Rib Tavern, is the surprise gem here. The James Beard nominee chef owned a 2-star Michelin restaurant which was also five-star AAA rated. So be sure to make reservations for dinner. The mattresses could be a little more comfortable, and the coffee could be a bit stronger, but otherwise it’s a magnificent stay!Breakfast is hearty and delicious. Small snacks are available for the taking and house made cookies are put each night with tea. There is a communal refrigerator in one of the lounge rooms.I look forward to returning and would like to bring some art supplies and draw, paint, write and read by the water. Inspiring setting!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Pilgrim's Inn while we were in Deer Isle for a wedding. Having never been to the area, we packed up our bikes and made a long weekend of it and we were so glad we did. The Inn is beautiful! Admittedly I did not do much research prior to booking our trip and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the property was and how incredibly helpful and communicative the staff was with us leading up to our arrival. We stayed in one of the 3 cottages since the main inn was sold out during our visit, and it was perfect for us. We had a tremendous amount of space and ample amenities at our disposal the entire trip. Our two favorite parts of our stay however were the staff and the food! The Inn's owners, Lindsay and Al were amazing! Lindsay was on top of making sure we had everything we needed at every point of our stay and we knew if we were missing something, she was available to assist us. On top of all of that, the food was a very unexpected delight. We were shocked at how incredible the complimentary breakfast was. We assumed an average free breakfast that has become the new norm in most places, but what we got was a meal we raved about all day. The ingredients were fresh, everything was made to order and of course served with a smile. Unfortunately we did not have the time available to sit down for dinner but the menu looked to die for, and we will be sure to enjoy it on our next visit.Thank you Lindsay, Al, and the entire team at the Pilgrim's Inn! We can't wait to come back again soon :)

What a gorgeous escape in Deer Isle--this historic inn (like we're talking from the 1700s!) is perfectly situated right on the water... we could NOT believe the views! We could honestly sit on their back garden area for hours. My partner and I went with two of our friends on a Monday--which first of all, it's so hard to find a place in Maine that's open on Monday, so we were thrilled right off the bat! We didn't stay at the inn itself, but we went for their fresh new restaurant and it didn't disappoint! Admittedly, we had many martinis (bc they were SO good), but the food was legit! We had some delicious snacks, and now we HAVE to go back to try the full menu. Also, just need to say Lindsay, one of the owners, is GORGEOUS... but girl was hustling! I guess it's good to be busy :)

Our experience at Pilgrims inn far surpassed our expectations. The owners, Lindsay and Al, go above and beyond to ensure a positive guest experience. The food at Whales Rib is phenomenal. The view is stunning. Sunset viewpoints abound. There is so much history in the building, it feels like stepping back in time. We loved every minute of our time at Pilgrims Inn!

Couldn't be happier with our stay. The room was spacious, clean, and charming. "Timeless elegance" truly describes this beautiful property.Lindsay and Al are communicative, responsive, hands-on hosts. Lindsay was around at breakfast and just brimming with light and positivity. The common areas downstairs are warm and welcoming, like everything about this place.Private parking is a breeze. The food (both on-site dining and included breakfast) was stellar as well.

Wonderful bed and breakfast on Deer Isle. The owner, Lindsey, greeted us in the restaurant downstairs, where we had dinner the first night. Very glad to stay somewhere quiet and peaceful after a day trip to Acadia National Park. Amazing sunsets from the library lawn/bay area across the street from the Inn. Also a short drive from Stonington. We loved it!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pilgrim's Inn, and this time was even more lovely than the last.It is a wonderful Inn to use as a base for exploring Stonington and Isle of Haut as everything is a short drive away. Nothing beats starting the morning with their excellent breakfasts overlooking the lake and then capping off the day with a glass of wine on their lovely porch. The Inn is breathtakingly charming at every turn. We love the rooms, the common spaces, and grounds.Service is impeccable, everyone is kind and accommodating at a personal level that you don't get at a hotel. As a result, all of the guests seem to be at ease and a pleasure to be aroundWe were pleasantly surprised to learn that the restaurant is now run by chef Ryan McCaskey who helmed one of our favorite restaurants in Stonington. Be sure to make your dinner reservations in advance as it can now be hard to get a spot in prime season.100% recommend, you won't be disappointed !

We had a wonderful 3 day stay at Pilgrim's Inn in the Rugosa Rose cottage. Pilgrim's Inn is a gem. The inn itself is so cool with the historic atmosphere, but modern comfort. The breakfasts were fabulous and served in a very quaint dining area with beautiful views. The grounds were so pretty. We loved the view of the pond from the cottage and the beautiful view towards the ocean on the other side. The cottage was very comfortable, quaint, and well equipped. We cooked a couple of meals there. We enjoyed star gazing off the deck, with great views of the milky way. If your travels take you to Maine and you wish to avoid large touristy crowds, this is a wonderful choice.

Every detail of our stay was impeccable. This is such a quiet, scenic and peaceful spot with the most comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. Our room had a tub with a view of the pond and it was so nice to take a hot bath every evening after exploring Deer Isle. The innkeepers went above and beyond in terms of communication and service. I feel compelled to post a review because our stay was just so exceptional, but I kind of want to keep this place a secret! :)

My wife and I visited the Inn for just one night - wish it could have been longer - but were charmed by its warmth and friendliness. The proprietors and staff were exceptionally kind, helpful and in fact voluntarily mailed (at no charge) a flashlight and charger left behind. We couldn't have been more pleased with our visit.Rooms: Roomy, full of daylight, nicely furnished in a simple, authentic down-east way. Pleasantly uncluttered!Noteworthy details: Situated between a freshwater pond and and a saltwater inlet and with long views both northwest and southeast, the location was great. An scenic but easy drive to Stonington.

Wow! Did this B&B ever surprise us! It's on a beautiful property with cottages and rooms that you can stay in. The history is just fantastic to read and hear about. The tavern, breakfast area, sitting areas are just stunning. My husband and I love older homes and this Inn did not disappoint. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable mattress. The service was fantastic, breakfasts were great, and we just can't wait to be back! Wish we were able to stay longer. Enjoy your break from the season - you all deserve it!

We had an excellent overnight stay at Pilgrim’s Inn under the new owners, Al and Lindsay! The inn is gorgeous and comfortable with plenty to do, whether you want to read a book in the common room, go for a walk on the water, or grab a drink at the bar. Al and Lindsey are as friendly as can be and made sure every last detail was curated with care. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious — my plant-based breakfast tacos were especially appreciated! :) We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Enjoyed our overnight at the Pilgrims Inn. They’ve thought of every amenity. Wine by the waterside in the Adirondack chairs. Our room was very large with comfortable beds. Tea coffee and cookies available upon arrival. We enjoyed the yummy breakfast in the barn styled dining room. Thank you Nicole and Scott…we had a wonderful visit just too short. Hope to see you next year!

Pilgrim's Inn is a real gem: beautiful location, gracious and friendly innkeepers, delicious breakfasts. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay here. The rooms are clean, the common spaces are inviting, and the grounds and mill pond are a lovely place to enjoy nature. Great two-person hammock for a little reading and rest after a busy day exploring Deer Isle. Many Thanks to Nicole and Scott!

I had the pleasure of spending one night in the nook room of the Pilgrim’s Inn. The inn itself is historic and charming. The room was incredibly tidy and well kept with a beautiful view. The windows could be opened to allow a nice breeze to come in. If it was too hot, there was AC available as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the skylight at the top of the bed, which allowed you to see the stars at night - a very thoughtful detail. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the check-in / check-out process was seamless. Scott and Nicole are also incredibly friendly and attentive hosts and I highly recommend this inn!

We were originally supposed to stay at a different inn, but due to flood damage from a storm that passed through, we were fortunate enough to get a room at The Pilgrim Inn last minute. Beautiful rooms, beautiful breakfast and a lovely family that runs it. We will be back and highly recommend!

Lovely little inn! Not every room is available for one-night stays - and the one that is... Is located immediately over the kitchen. Not that noisy, though! All in all, a great place to spend some time if Stonington proper is too busy a city for you. This place (and this whole area!) is super quiet, cool, and right on the lakefront. A great place to spend some time when rest and relaxation is needed!

I cannot say enough about Pilgrim's Inn and the Innkeepers, Nicole and Scott! They were so thoughtful with our stay! My husband and I recently eloped there in August and it was an absolute dream. The Inn itself has so much history and every room is SO charming and cozy. Nicole + Scott were so very accommodating and just genuinely nice / fun people. I have Celiac and they made sure everything from the truffles they served after our ceremony, to the little delicious pastries they served me every morning (still think about them) to stocking their bar with gluten free beer. They made sure everything was perfect for us. We literally walked down to a beautiful tree in front of the water and go married - Need I say more? We cannot wait to come back for our 5 year anniversary. Also Deer Isle itself is so quaint and beautiful. To the views, the little coffee houses and the incredible restaurants!

We stayed in a cottage at Pilgrim's Inn in August 2020, and it was an outstanding experience, beautiful views, fully furnished kitchenette, and --- as we were visiting during the pandemic -- we appreciated that the innkeepers did a spectacular job of maintaining safety and cleanliness, while making us feel completely welcome. Highly recommend this place!
