This is one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve ever camped at. Clean, well kept, and growing with amazing new sites being made that give privacy in between. Vincent, the owner and operator of the establishment is super nice and wants to ensure every guest feels comfortable. I hugged him when I left because he’s that kind of person. He is the kind of human that sparkles and shines bright. So does this place. The Zen Garden and river walk, it’s all just a perfect Hideaway that I almost don’t want anyone else to know about. LGBTQ+ safe space.

This is our second year staying at the campground. We absolutely love it! It is always clean and quiet! Mike and Vincent are always helpful and accommodating. They are also knowledgeable and even recommended a great breakfast spot in town called Lindseys which I also recommend! I Highly recommend this campground and will return for years to come!

We stayed here for three nights and wish it had been longer! Our site was wooded and very private. The campground owners were sooo friendly and accommodating and the place was very clean and quiet. If you like to play on the river, it’s the perfect place. We took our paddleboards and went up the river, and kayaks would have been great. They have a nice dock to put in, and it’s a really quiet section of river. The weather didn’t cooperate with us, so hoping we can come back next summer!!

We recently stayed a couple nights at this campground, on a tent site. Our site was huge, quiet and included water. We highly recommend this campground. The bathrooms were very clean, our neighbors were quiet, the owners were friendly. There was a movie Saturday night that included free snacks. My son loves snacks! We were able to canoe for a short day trip and it was easy access from the campground. We bailed early Sunday am due to rain but can’t wait to see you all next summer! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Such a great trip! We went in mid August and camped with a tent. Tent spaces were private and large. Bathrooms and hookups are all super new and clean. You can float down the river, fish, or just hike in the nearby preserve right from the campground.

We had an amazing experience! The owners are amazing, sweet and helpful. The sites have new hookups, are spacious and there are shady and sunny one's. The owners even brought us a gift for my wife's birthday!

We found this campground for my in-laws to spend the summers close by family especially their grandchildren. We knew from the beginning that it was a gay owned campground and had no issue with that, however when we were visiting one weekend there was apparently some gay men’s event going on. There wouldn’t have been an issue if my family wasn’t woken up in the middle of the night to drunken drag queens fighting. The Police had to called to handle the situation ( there is a record of the incident). The next day the owners didn’t even bother to go around and apologize to the people who pay to stay for the season. After that we never brought the kids back and we moved my in-laws to another campground after the season ended.

My name is Chris and I am the CEO of Northeast Adventure Company.I reached out to Mike to see if he would be available to host our group of Overland enthusiasts at his campground and he was amazingly accommodating for such short notice. He provided everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy our stay, and I would highly recommend this campground to any one who is looking to stay in the area. We will most definitely be back again to stay. 5 stars Mike. We appreciate you!

We just recently were lucky enough to stay at Saco River Hideaway Campground for the first time. What a lovely campground with the friendliest owners around! It was my husbands first time driving our new camper (always been in tents!) and the owner was so sweet and helpful to us in finding a good spot. The campground is well kept, tons of unique touches and fun things to do, lovely sites for RVs AND tenters, and you really just feel like part of the family when you’re there. We already cannot wait to go back soon, especially to float the river! 10/10

Just spent Labor Day weekend here, what a great stay! Mike and Vincent were incredibly friendly and were more than helpful in ensuring we had the best time. We rented kayaks and did the 4 hour lazy river trip which was awesome. They drove the kayaks right up to the starting point and helped us get our day started. The sites are roomy, most have power and water. The bathrooms are clean and the shower are roomy. Most neighbors were friendly and kept to themselves, there was minimal partying/noise which was a huge plus. If you are looking for a relaxing time and floating down the Saco, this is the place to go! We hope to go back and do it all again.

This campground is pure heaven! Vincent and Mike are amazing and our neighbors are too!!!! What a hidden gem! NO BIG CORPORATION!!! Actual owners on site and are there to help you in every way they can.We have camped all over the place and this location is by far the best place we have stayed. It’s so quiet, peaceful, safe and amazing location especially if you love the outdoorsKayaking and tubing right down the Saco river on site. Vincent and mike are so generous and friendly. They have made our transition both welcoming and relaxing. The bathhouse is immaculate. Property is spectacular; kept up and the owners work non stop to make sure their campground is enjoyable for everyone. We are beyond thankful for this opportunity and this seasonal lot! If you haven’t been here yet , you need to!!!!!

We had our first stay on the weekend of the 4th. Mike and Vincent were a pleasure to work with and were very accommodating. We didn’t stay in the field we were tucked back in the wooded area and had plenty of privacy. Everybody was very friendly and the tubing was fun and relaxing. We hope to be back in a few months our group hasn’t stopped talking about how great of a time it was. Thanks again for a great experience and amazing customer service!

The owners, Mike and Vincent, are very welcoming and accommodating! The campground is clean, well maintained and spacious. The accompanying store is well stocked with necessities. They can even refill your propane tank if needed. For RV sites they have both water and sewer hookups. as well as electric. Tent sites also have water. The bathhouse with showers I kept clean. There is a Zen garden for meditation and water access on the Saco river. You can buy or rent tubes from them as well. There is a sports area and dog park.I can't speak highly enough of our experiences(we've stayed there twice and gave another weekend booked already)!

I just got back a few days ago from another great weekend at this campground. We had fun tubing and swimming in the river. The sites and bathrooms are very clean. The store has a good assortment of supplies too. I can't wait to bring more friends here! The owners are friendly, helpful and have great suggestions about what to do in the area. I'll see you again soon! Thanks for another amazing stay!

This past weekend was my fourth trip to Saco River Hideaway. The grounds are well kept safe and secure. The rest rooms are clean and modern. Most of the tent sites have power and water, a great convivence. There's even a Zen garden and a dog park! Campground access to the Saco river is a short walk from the camp sites, and there is a great dock to enjoy. Tubes are available to rent at the camp store! They camp store is well stocked with the basics. There are a few restaurants close by as well as convenience stores and a Dunkin Donuts! Main Street in Cornish has some cool places to check out. The seasonal guests are very friendly. Most importantly Vinny and Mike, the owners are amazing hosts. They are welcoming to all! They make frequent trips around the camp ground making sure everyone is enjoying their stay.

WOW!!!!You name it, they exceeded. I went up with my tent and kayak with no expectations. EVERYTHING was spotless and clean. Owners are amazing people. If I could buy stock in this company I would. Below I've listed a few.Showers and bathrooms were tremendous, water pressure was better than my house and plenty of room.- the layout of the camp was spectacular. Everything you want or need was there. Field camping along trees, RV, plenty of space to accommodate large groups and small groups.- Kayaked from Hiram Falls down to the camps DockHiram falls had a great beach and waterfall with great swimming holes and river swimming.- When I got off the river, they drove me back to my truck- I camed in a primitive spot off the field closer to the river. My tent, my truck, and my kayak. They had a great fire pit.

This campground was great. Needed a tent site and these guys had informed us that they’d just opened back up bc of the good weather. We were road weary and just wanted to unwind and take a nice shower. The owner gave us an extremely friendly welcome and even a photo presentation of what the local area is like. We freshened up in a very nice shower house, clean and spacious. Had it all to ourselves. Unfortunately our hot water didn’t last long. But they had just turned on the water heater specifically for us an hour earlier. Had a peaceful nights sleep. We walked the grounds with our morning coffee. Beautiful area. Quiet. All in all a great area and all sites have water and power. $50 for one night so a bit pricey for a tent site but I’d say worth it. We dropped $40 at another site in white mountains and the experience was AWFUL. Roadtrippers know how precious good campgrounds are. This is a winner! Thanks guys.

I had the pleasure of staying at Saco River Hideaway the week of May 2- May 9.I was actually lucky enough to have the whole place to myself as it was a week before the seasonal folks showed up. Vincent and Michael were the most gracious hosts. I’ve stayed in many a campground and have never experienced the level of hospitality that they provided. There’s a nice little island of trees in the field set up for tents. All the RV sites have plumbing, electric, and power. The bathrooms were super clean and you can leave your bag of quarters at your site, the showers are FREE!!! And a tip about the showers, HOLD ON!!! That water pressure will blow you out of the stall!! Fantastic!!Be sure to walk along the path to the Saco River. You’ll come across a Zen Garden, a large sand pit with a volley ball court and soon to be dog park named Central Bark. Further along the very quiet pathway you’ll come to a clearing and be on top of the River!! It’s so beautiful and peaceful!!!Also, there’s no fee for your pup!! Just keep’em on a leash. The camp store has different items for camping, beer, wine, tubes for the river. They sell firewood on site.I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation and where customer service is top priority. I will definitely be a lifetime guest!!Thanks so much guys!!!

We came there for a one week stay from Arizona and ended up staying for 3 weeks, they are the the nicest people of all campsites that we have been in , and we have traveled all over the USA and including Alaska. We had such a great time that we are coming back again next year from Az , only to stay longer. Thanks again Mike and Vincent for making us feel like home, it is an extremely well kept campground.

What a fabulous wedding and weekend we had here! Where do I start....Firstly the campground was spotless. Very clean bathrooms and grounds. We utilized the covered pavilion for the wedding and it was just perfect. There were hanging lights, a great place for the DJ to set up and even a dance floor! Just outside the pavilion there was a huge fire pit which was perfect for several chairs and cooking s’mores. The grounds are also very pretty. Some sites are tucked into the trees and some sites are in an large open field which is gorgeous. Our tent sites were a quick 2 minute walk from the pavilion which made it easy to run back and forth for things we needed for the wedding and for our bride to walk from. The owners were SO PERSONABLE and accommodating. We were able to set up the catering truck and had appetizers and a big hot meal. We were a group of approximately 50, and it was very comfortable with plenty of space! Around the pavilion there was a lot of lawn area to set up some corn hole, a picture station, ladder toss, a sign in and welcome canopy, etc. It was perfect and we had the cover we needed if it rained, which it did not!We will definitely come back later in the season to enjoy more of the grounds and swim in the river; which with the wedding we didn’t have time to do. But it was nice to know it was there and available in the event we needed to toss anyone in the river for any reason! Lol.Thank you to the owners for a fabulous venue for camping and our event. It was just lovely. We highly recommend this campground 😀

AMAZING campground! Vincent was extremely accommodating. His energy and enthusiasm was incredible. He remembered and called us by our names and was just an absolute pleasure to be around. The Campground had everything we needed - locality to water, beach volleyball court and very clean bathrooms. I am so happy I took a chance and randomly came across this hidden gem!

Always a great experience at Saco River Hideaway. The owners are great people and always go out of their way to accommodate everyone. They are super dog friendly too! They even have a great dog park right in the campground. You won’t be disappointed with your trip here. Don’t forget to go tubing down the Saco River!

We had a great time camping here! The area we were in was a big field (perfect for group camping) but there were also wooded more secluded campsites by the river. The river was amazing, we brought floats and an anchor and floated for hours. Staff was friendly and helpful, and camp bathrooms/amenities were clean. Would definitely come back!

This campground says pet friendly my family and I have a pomeranian puppy who barks when not right next to us. My wife and I arrived at our campsite to see it looks like a small piece of land with markers on trees for your camp sites there is no space in between campsites your tents are partially on top of your fire pit and there is absolutely no parking. One of the owners asked us rudely to shut our dog up I told him he wasn't a kid I couldnt ask to quiet down and there was no running room for him. He replied we weren't his concern that the people complaining staying seasonal were his priority. Our fear was our dog would get too close to fire or to close to other campers but he was very well taken care of so to be treated this way was disgusting. Save the trip camp else where!

I wish I was here to say what a great experience I had however it was horrible. I have camped all over the state of Maine this was by far the WORST campground I have been to. If you enjoy being right on top your neighbors, having to drive 20+ minutes to find anything to do or like dirty restrooms this is the place for you. The owners were extremely unpleasant. Needless to say I'm sad my family and I were unable to enjoy our memorial camping trip this is the only campground we weren't able to make the best of it. Save your money look else where.

We had SUCH an awesome weekend at Saco River Hideaway. The owners, Mike and Vincent, are kind, considerate, warm and really treated us like family from the moment we arrived. They answered every call and offered assistance whenever we had a question. The bathrooms were newly redone with thoughtful fixtures, rustic-chic style, and shower pressure and temp were amazing. Our campsite was perfect for our oversized 3 room tent, and we ended up sharing a campfire and drinks with both of the campers next to us. Everyone we met there was incredibly friendly. The store has everything you'll need: ice, drinks, first aid, snacks, firewood, coffee, even floats and tents. Basically anything you may have forgotten to pack.Saturday we took our tubes down the river for about a four hour float, and it was ultra beautiful and relaxing. We will 100% be back!😎 ❤️**SUPER IMPORTANT** Mike and Vincent will warn you of a fallen tree in the river, but I feel compelled to reiterate here. This thing is NO JOKE, and you need to steer clear!! On the lazy float from the drop off back down to the campsite, you will only pass under 1 bridge, (so that is the bridge i'm referring to). When you see the bridge up ahead of you, HUG THE LEFT SHORE. On the far side of the bridge, the water is split by a small, marshy island. The fallen tree on the right of the island has created a very scary, very branchy and fast moving vortex. Don't be fooled by its meager appearance...it's a tricky beast that wants to lure you in to steal your raft and cell phone.Stay left, stay left, stay left!!

My wife and I have come here twice this year and have been blown away by the hospitality. Vincent and Mike were extremely helpful and kind. We actually live in the area but they were able to still recommend a few scenic locations we didn't know existed. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a nice and relaxing location to spend some time outdoors.
