Love this store! The ladies at the front who work the night shift are absolute dolls with a wicked sense of humor! , while also being super professional, friendly, kind, and helpful. 🤩 The store is always super well stocked, super clean, and always has new things to look and and buy. And AMAZING prices!!! Love all the Ocean States in my area! The Biddeford one is awesome!!!!!! ☺

Wow! Great deals on everything from clothing & household items, to food & pet supplies.There is a section where if you purchase $10 of select items (mix and match), not only will you receive a gift card for the money you spent (read FREE!), but the company donates a matching amount to charity! Food insecurity affects many Maine residents. Thank you, OSJL, for helping those in need. Nicely organized store; very clean- especially the restroom which had a freshly cleaned scent.Employees were pleasant and helpful.

This trip was crazy deal free, just a quick stop. Well, actually, I did use a crazy deal card from donating a back to school back pack. I'm obsessed with shipping online and getting big crazy deal cash.And the past couple visits, the staff had been friendly and helpful. This store beats our marden's for my money.

Crazy long line due to some sort of gift card issue. Manager came. 3 staff watching. Line backed up across the store. Only one register open. 7 others available to open. We’re the other registers broken? No, because only after they spent forever on the one customer’s issue did they open another register. Why not before? They caused me to be late to something where I ended up taking heat. Thanks a lot.

I'm generally either bitterly disappointed or elated with finds from Ocean State Job Lot. It's really up to you to be a smart shopper, and sometimes you have to take a risk.For example, against my better judgement, I bought a German steel no-brand knife from one of these stores a dozen years ago. I still use that knife every day, it holds an edge really well, even after thousands of uses.I've also been able to find commercial grade cleaning products for a fraction of the price of residential grade chemicals that work perfectly.That said, I've probably only actually walked out with a purchase half the times I've gone into an OSJL because the stock is so inconsistent. I've also come away with products that end up in the trash or Goodwill days later.If you find something you need the price is usually pretty good, but the quality is unpredictable. Good luck in your deal hunting!

Seasonal items are to the right. Regular everyday household items are on the shelves in the aisles in the center. You can get some clothes like t-shirts as well. Housewares, pet and bird feeder supplies. Some good prices, some like everywhere else. It's hit or miss really, but they have some good finds. I went in looking for a sun visor. They didn't have any. 😩 Customer service is pretty good. Lots of parking. No AC in the building. That should be a priority to fix for the employees.

Store is organized and prices are great. Staff is friendly and helpful*.*For the manager: the woman you had stocking the food section on 7/6/19 around 2pm was extremely rude. Made fun of my accent (to my face). Told me to find the item myself. (I asked for bottled water). Couldn’t find it and came back and said “there’s only seltzer”. She told me that I’d have to “deal with it because they don’t have bottled water”.An employee like that is going to bring down the quality of this otherwise great store.

Cheap stuff and crazy deals! Surprising variety of quality organic shelf foods. Good place to look for random odds and ends, kitchen wares, hardware, soaps, linens, bedding, garden supplies, office supplies, clothing. It's unusual for me to visit without coming back with more than I'd planned on getting for less than I expected to pay.

They always work hard to keep the specialty foods section well stocked and they answer customers questions as best they can on the phone. They follow safe distancing and wipe everything down between customers. The workers are all in a tough & scary position but they remain pleasant, helpful & cheerful through this tough time. I always seem to find a few great deals on items I'm looking for at Ocean State. The inventory changes frequently and I never know what new stock awaits me when I'm shopping in the area. This time it was totes , in 2 sizes , that I found for a couple of dollars less than the super store nearby.

Update. Added one more star.. I see they have dirt cheap aluminum pans, you name the kind and they have it. I go alot as my lady friend likes it and some of their cookies are good. Staff is always friendly and helpful to me.

Rude elderly employee barking at me to come up and pay at 7pm on the dot. Saying “she already came for the cash.” Whatever that means. I was just deciding on a final item and was about to walk up and pay anyway. Her rude tone was offensive. Thumbs down. Learn some manners.

The one I visited seemed to be lacking on supplies and looked run down even though they have not been open for that long. I was able to find a comforter and pillows but they didnt seem to have any nice sets. I also was looking for some other things that you would expect to be in stock and I did call ahead and ask if they had them before hand.

My first trip to Ocean State in Biddeford- and I really had a fine shopping spree. It's a well organized store, clean and lots of great dog and cat stuff. My only real issue with this chain is the scattered location for like products. It always seems that I can find a phone charger at the front, in the rear and around the corner. (Just an example!!) I'd have an easier time spending my $$$ if everything was together on a certain endcap! All in all , the prices are really good and the insider deals are unreal! Get a card!! It costs nothing, and they have weekly specials.....

Lots of great stuff here. Went in looking for nautical and tiki theme items for my tiki bar, couldn't really find anything but, having said that, they do have great deals, great selection. The place looks taken care of also.

Workers are always asking if you need help, they run great bargains when you become a rewards member. They also have a program where if you purchase certain items for one price you will receive what they call crazy bucks and that depends on the item, but you basically receive money back to spend on something else another visit. Which can be really helpful.
