This place can be a great place to shop at, depending on who is working and who is shopping.Sometimes rules are made up depending on the ethnic group of the shopper. I went into the store this morning to buy my daughter a birthday card and a gift card with my bank card and was refused. I was told by the cashier that I couldn’t use my bank card, that I had to use cash. I explained to him that I’ve used my card before in this manner with no problems. This is not the first time I’ve witnessed an injustice by this particular worker depending on who he was serving. Even though it is a convenience because the store is close to home, I’m considering if I will return.

Clean, organized, clear isles, helpful and customer service oriented staff. Great sale prices, plenty of room in the parking lot. Impressed with this one as other DG in Texas are no where close to being this up kept! I travel all over the states and shop at different DG at least 4x a week. 5+ stars!

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible !!! This store NEVER has products on the shelves. Carts full of boxes needing to be put up all in the middle of the isles. Dirty & unorganized yet I've never seen one employee out working putting freight up. They either huddle up at the register on their phones or standing outside smoking. There is one young lady that catches a huge attitude if u poke your head out the door and asked to be checked out after standing there waiting for 5 or so minutes. Today will be the last time I shop here !

Don't need a lesson on how to hold my soda. I got it to the register just fine. No need to shake it up by dropping it to the side and when I pick it back upright do it again and tell me "I'd suggest grabbing it by the handle, that's why they make it" in a condescending tone. I'm shocked that the corporate office hasn't shut this store down! It is literally nasty! All isles are littered with junk. The floors are so dirty, when you walk in, it looks like a bomb exploded! This is the most filthy store that I have ever visited..even the parking lot is filled with trash..

Very clean. But the cashier must have had her mind on something else because I gave her a twenty and she gave me change for a five. She argued that she didn't mark a twenty and that I must have been mistaken. Luckily I kept my cool and she had to count the cash register which proved me right.

The employees are what make this store! I have never been in this store where they do not have merchandise they are stocking unfortunately they usually don't have enough employees. The ladies are trying to work the registers and put up freight. The reasons I can not give it 5 stars are as follows: the entrance has been down to one door only for a very long time, I would have 7 months to a year. This to me shows that corporate obviously doesn't care about the condition of the store just the profit it makes. Secondly the prices, they are high especially surprising to me when there is a Family Dollar not far from it. Example of one of the latest price differences I noticed was I went to purchase one of the small hard plastic kiddie pools the price was $18! I was like that's to much for that small little pool so I left. On the way back home I wasn't going to stop at family dollar because I figured it be close to the same price but they had some out front of the store so I decided to pull in to see if they had price visible. I am glad I did. The same pool was $8!!! I now compare the prices of both stores by their ads, apps, and shopping and it has become aware to me Dollar General prices in Vinton are more expensive than the Family dollar in our small town.

Great customer service by casher! They are always busy on the floor with so much stock! Also the prices are higher then family dollar in the same town. I went to get a small plastic kids pool for my dog it was $18 yet the same or comparable one at family dollar was $8.

Too much stuff in this store. To me it seemed like a pile up at the front door so I got a soda (in the front) and chips (in the front) and hurried out. To me it was unorganized and too small so it was compacted to house all the products. Couldn't enjoy the shopping experience of shopping in a new place on my way home.

Just like any other Dollar General except for the sweetest friendliest cashier you'll ever have. She's 76. Please treat her with respect and patience ❤

Our Dollar General revised their inventory after Laura so that our town has fresh foods available after our local grocery was wrecked in the hurricane. Lines can be long, but not as long as a round trip to the next nearest grocery. They've earned my loyality.

Only one employee that I've dealt with that i actually like dealing with because she's got such a outgoing personality and has always been so nice, most of the other employees just seem to hate being there

This is the very best store in Vinton, Louisiana for this Dollar General stayed open after Hurricane Laura devastated our community and they helped us every way possible and we LOVE OUR DOLLAR GENERAL...

This location no longer sells any sort of shoes. After going through two hurricanes and there only being one store open in town I was very disappointed to know this was so.

The only dollar store I've been in that everything is actually in place and won't fall on you is the Vinton store.
