The first visit was great. The latest visit, I was overcharged, and when I called to ask about the cost, I was told the daily fee and "don't forget it." The woman made me feel terrible for asking a simple question. Something definitely changed with the customer service since the last visit. For the cost and poor customer service, I'll take my dogs elsewhere and "forget" it! You know what they say, people may forget what you say, but they don't forget how you made them feel.

The ladies at the front were AMAZING. My puppies were very well taken care of, they were shaved just like I asked. The ladies were extremely patient with my babies (they were really matted) best place ever, definetly will be coming back.

Not very pleased. Went to this groomer two different times, First time was to groom just the Golden. She came home with fleas. Thinking nothing about it because that can happen coming from where mixed pets go. My chihuahua also got them from the Golden. After lots of money spent and timeless amounts of combing both to rid them of the fleas, we finally gained control and both my dogs were flea free. Last week I sent both back to this groomer for grooming. The 4 pound, 1 year old chihuahua needed her nails trimmed badly. But it was only $20 to trim nails and also bathe her. So that’s what I asked for. The Golden was bathed. Her nails stay short because she runs a lot on pavement. My Chihuahua came home without her nails done because they said she was too afraid and they didn’t want her spooked. I was upset because I can bathe (and do bathe) her myself. I needed her nails done mainly. Other groomers have done her nails before. This groomer is more local to me. On top of that, both dogs have fleas again. I am VERY frustrated at this point. The $20 grooming for the Chihuahua ended up not being the only cost due to I had to get her nails done somewhere else and now I am back to flea control. Both dogs are on flea and tick pill monthly. But that does not prevent them from catching fleas. Just so upset.

We love Downtown Pet Salon! The ladies at the salon could not be sweeter to our English bulldog and always provide services in a timely manner. Their shop is clean and well taken care of. I would highly recommend it to any pet owner!

Megan has been my dog groomer since I first moved to Ponchatoula almost 5 years ago, and only after I went to someone else, who made him look choppy..and she shaved the two areas I specifically asked her not to but to trim. I was so disappointed and thinking I would just have to drive Maxx to Kenner for grooming appointments lol..then I found Megan. I would see her salon on Hwy 22, across from a snowball stand, I frequently visit, decided to go in and check her out and I was very pleased and made Maxx an appointment that day. Megan groomed him perfectly that day and everyday on, her prices are fair and I would use her if I ever needed to board my dog, I trust her and her staff with this fur-baby; I also have 4 ducks and they have a cat, none of which need a groomer and one reason we don’t use boarding services.

Megan is always available to board my big goofy Goldendoodle. We vacation several times a year and my guy loves going to stay with his friends at Downtown Pet Salon. I work a hectic schedule outside of town and they always make it possible to drop off and pickup within our time frames. It's conveniently located, a clean establishment, and the owner is kind and conducts her business fairly. We do appreciate her willingness to please her clients and care for our furbaby.

The owner/groomer, Megan is amazing. She is always so nice and helpful. They also offer boarding for dogs if you need to go out of town! I absolutely love Downtown Pet Salon! My dog loves going to get groomed there and is always happy to be there. I absolutely recommend Downtown Pet Salon to anyone who needs boarding or to have their dogs groomed!

Not happy at all , burned my baby with the clippers,never gave her water all day. She drank a whole bowl of water at the vets office, right after I picked her up. Will not go back again.

Megan is such a blessing. I had the privilege to work with her in the past and she's wonderful. I have always been very cautious about who I bring my dog to, but she instantly put my mind at ease is friendly and patient and always does a FANTASTIC job on my pup.

Megan, the groomer is super sweet and goes out of her way to make her customers happy! The dogs enjoy themselves here as they get to roam around secured parts of the shop and play with other dogs! Downtown pet salon is a wonderful place to have your pet groomed all while they have a great time as well! They also do dog boarding while customers are out on vacation or need somewhere to keep their pets! Definatly recommend this place!

First, I’m shocked by all the negative reviews. To the people who dog was killed being boarded there, I’m sorry to hear, I’ve never boarded my dog there or anywhere. He’s small enough and comes EVERYWHERE with us. But to have numerous people leave negative reviews other than the owner just seems a bit petty to me. The one time we had to board our Boxer (who passed years ago) when my husband & I went on our honeymoon (12+ years ago), we lived in Slidell and went to look at “boarding places,” not groom & board but only boarding. We wanted to make sure our dog would have enough room to run and play with other dogs. We checked references and made sure we would be comfortable leaving him for the 10 days we would be gone. When I first left Maxx with Megan, I informed her that Maxx doesn't always get along with other dogs, especially puppies since he’s older and doesn’t like all the jumping around, hyper activeness of puppies. It’s not like she knew another dog would attack your dog. Sometimes people forget dogs are animals, as much as they’re a part of our family and may seem almost like a person to us, they’re animals! I began having my Shih-tzu groomed when Megan was on Hwy 22 when we moved here from Metairie a few years ago and I needed to find a groomer for my shih-tzu, Maxx (10 yrs). He can be very difficult to groom but has possibly gotten better LOL. The 1st groomer I went to did a terrible job; Maxx was shaved unevenly, didn’t look like he had a bath, and she didn’t bother to go with the cut I had sent her a picture of, a cut Maxx has been getting for 10 years-shaved all over except his tail and ears just trimmed. I was so horrified by the 1st groomer I would drive to Kenner to bring my baby to get groomed, until I decided to stop in Downtown Pet Salon and talk with Megan. She was wonderful, friendly, and the dogs at her salon looked professionally groomed; the last lady worked from home and didn’t have any other dogs but hers-now I see why. She fit Maxx into her busy schedule and had Maxx done rather quickly. When I picked him up, he looked so clean, smelled so fresh, and looked just like he did at my old salon. Other people have tried giving me recommendations to other groomers but I’m comfortable and very pleased with Megan and her staff. What I don’t understand from these people leaving negative reviews when you went to pick up your babies wouldn’t you have noticed then if he/she wasn’t cut properly, bathed, or had their ears plucked and cleaned? I know I would notice when I picked up my baby...and I would’ve talked to Megan at that point, not gone home and called or waited and then called, or leave a negative review and wait for her reply. Every time I’ve taken Maxx to Megan, she’s always been there, she may not always have time to cut him herself now but I have never been disappointed with any of her staff. Sorry for the novel but felt I had to do a little defending.

I brought my baby in a couple months ago for a full groom & only received a hair cut. I noticed that whoever was suppose to groom him did not bath him, he was return to not fresh, his coat flaky, ear dirty. I called to speak with the owner and informed her of my concerns, she apologized and stated she would make it right on next visit. Fast forward 6 weeks I bring him for another try, when I picked him up his eyes was full of crust like when I brought him in, his ears was dirty again, he smelled like outside same as when I brought him in for grooming. I purposely brought him in that way to see if they would thoroughly clean him. They had the nerve to tell me to my face that they washed his eyes 3 times since his bath. Soon as they called to tell me he was ready I was there within 15mins. I don’t mind paying an additional price If it cost more for a bath or ear cleaning. The person I spoke with was the owner. The service was horrible. As a owner how can you hand over someone’s baby with crusty eyes and smelling like outside. They could have at least cleaned his eyes before giving his back. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. I wish I could upload the pictures to show. I had to give him another bath after paying for a service I did not receive. Yes I am very upset and they should be ashamed of them selves.

Downtown Pet Salon is the best place to get your fur baby an awesome grooming! This dog grooming salon is different than most grooming places(where your dog would be in a kennel alllll day). Megan treats every dog like her own and the dogs get to hangout with her while she’s working! She has secured gates so your pup doesn’t roam entirely free and unsupervised while being here. She also offers boarding which is so much fun for the dogs and one on one time rather than being in a kennel elsewhere. Friendliest service and great pricing. I would definitely recommend Downtown Pet Salon to anyone who is in the Ponchatoula/Hammond/surrounding areas.

After moving to the Northshore almost 3 years now, we had to leave our old groomer behind. We have hopped so many groomers and struggled finding the right one for our fur baby(almost giving up hope we would never find a great groomer on this side the lake). We decided to try Downtown Pet Salon LLC after reading other recommendations, and let me tell you this place is amazing! THE BEST on the northshore; and we will definitely be back! Everyone here is so nice and friendly and smells so clean. I know my yorkie was in great hands. I’m so glad we stumbled upon Downtown Pet Salon LLC!! We will be back! Y’all check them out! :)

The ladies who take care of my Cember are amazing!! I use Downtown Pet Salon for boarding also when we're on vacations and they ease my worries! Cember is a very hyper standard poodle and they still manage to give her an all around even cut!

I’m going to be honest, if I could give this 0 stars, I would. My best friend (that I’ve known since 2nd grade) trusted her yorkie poo to be boarded under this pet salon’s care when she was on vacation. Imagine the SHOCK that two days into her vacation, she and her family received a call explaining that her was dog was dying. Due to their blatant disregard for the animals they take into care, they let this sweet, vulnerable dog be mauled by a much larger dog. The absolute neglect and carelessness this pet salon can hold and how they REFUSE to take responsibility. A shame. #JusticeForLeia
